The Battles of the Saiyan Prince
I sat back down, my hands nervously fidgiting...
"Lady Katarina, you don't need to be so nervous. Calm down, please." Whis said to me as he put his hand on my arm.
"You need some tea to shake those nerves." He said as he tapped his staff on the ground and a tea set appeared.
"Tea, Lord Beerus?"
"Sure. You know how I take my tea."
Whis nodded as he started preparing the tea. I took my tea with one sugar and some milk while Beerus took his with three sugar and lots of milk.
Once Whis gave us our respective cups, I started sipping mine. The warm liquid was soothing, but I was still nervous for Vegeta.
"Is that better, Lady Katarina?"
"Yeah, I think it's doing the trick, thank you." I lied as my eyes were now glued to the fight.
Vegeta and Magetta were stuck in a box that was steadily rising in temperature. I could see Vegeta and he was not doing so great... he decided to stay in the air at the corners of the box.
Honestly, that was the worst place to be. Hot air rises, so the temperature up there is hotter than the ground. Vegeta was in a place where it would hurt him most.
I saw the beads of sweat dripping off of Vegeta's face, his expression read that he was enough of this.
"You sorry excuse for a toaster, I am going to make you a bucket of spare parts!"
He went full on Super Saiyan and his scream shattered the barrier. He got so mad his galaic gun shattered the floor of the arena.
We found Vegeta out of the ring... we also saw Magetta out of the ring
Who won? Who lost?
The announcer looked closer at Vegeta's foot.
"Contestant Vegeta is still in bounds. He is the winner!"
We all celebrated as Vegeta just won this round. Magetta sat up and once it found Vegeta, it cowered in fear. It started to cry and ran back to where Lord Champa was.
"Poor Magetta got his feelings hurt by Vegeta's strong words." The announcer said as Vegeta came back up to where we were.
Whis stood up and had to help repair the stage with Vados. Vegeta sat right next to me.
"I was worried about you out there." I said and Vegeta looked at me.
"Really?"
"Of course. You literally could have died from asphyxiation the way you handled that."
"Well, I didn't die."
"Thank goodness."
I sipped my tea as I watched Whis and Vados fix the tournament floor.
"So, you will be facing that Saiyan boy next." I said and Vegeta nodded, but he was staring at that boy I was talking about.
"Don't do anything to hurt him. He seems too innocent in all of this."
"Don't tell me how to fight, Katarina. I know what I have to do. I don't tell you how to fight your fights." Vegeta got exasperated with me and got up to stand at the edge of the platform.
"Vegeta. I'm just saying that because you sometimes get out of hand."
"So you still think of me as that monster you feared so long ago? One that has no clue what it's like to really have people care about you?"
I stood there in silence. He stood there in that same silence looking at me. His eyes like daggers, my heart felt their blades digging in.
Suddenly I had a pair of hands on my shoulders.
"Are you okay you two? I've never seen you two have a staring contest for a long period of time." Whis said as he broke our little staring contest.
"We're fine, Whis. Good luck, Vegeta." I said as I went back to the sofa and sat near Beerus. Whis then came over and sat between Beerus and I.
"Was that a little dramatic tention between you two?" Whis whispered and I really didn't know how to answer.
I blushed and then looked at Whis. He smiled at me. His smile always comforted me in an odd way. I hardly knew him, but he always comforted me.
"I guess you can call it that. Vegeta and I sometimes have our little spats. We even had those little conflicts when we were together. I guess it's always my humanity and feelings that get in the way."
"Lady Katarina, you don't need to feel like your feelings are insignificant. To beings like myself, we don't need feelings. But to you, Vegeta, Goku, and others on Earth, you all have feelings that do matter. Honestly, you are very interesting, kind, and considerate and that what is really intriguing about you." Whis said, blushing a bit. I felt myself blush too as he looked at me and said those words.
We both looked away before anyone could get suspicious and watched as the young Saiyan was now going to face the Prince of Saiyans, in the 7th universe respectively.
Cabba was the Saiyan's name. He did not look like a very strong fighter. He actually looked quite puny compared to the Saiyan Prince.
Cabba respectively greets Vegeta in the ring before the announcer told them to start. Vegeta huffed as he looked at the young Saiyan.
The two started going at it once the announcer told them. Both of them were matched right now in their base forms. I couldn't wait to see what would happen when they both turned Super Saiyan.
Vegeta stopped and so did Cabba. They exchanged glances.
"Well, go ahead. Transform, Saiyan." Vegeta said and Cabba looked confused.
"Transform, sir?"
"Yes! Transform! Into a Super Saiyan!"
Cabba still looked at him funny.
"I don't know of any transformation, sir."
"You are a Saiyan and you don't know how to transform? Pathetic." Vegeta said as he transformed, only going to the first Super Saiyan level.
Cabba looked at Vegeta in fear and in awe.
"This is what a Super Saiyan looks like."
"I can't transform!"
"That's because you don't believe in yourself!"
Those words echoed in my head for awhile. I could have sworn that I've heard this before...
"If you don't believe you can be stronger, you won't get there!" He said as he kicked Cabba in the stomach.
"I can't transform!" He cried as he was being beaten up by Vegeta.
I started to worry. He seemed pretty harsh on this boy.
"Aren't you suppose to fight me? Because you are not doing a good job at it!" Vegeta said as he kept beating Cabba like a punching bag.
"I told you before... I can't transform..."
"That's because you are weak! You are a pathetic excuse for a Saiyan!" He threw around Cabba.
"And when I beat you to a bloody pulp, I am going to your planet and slay every person."
"No..."
"And I'll make sure that everyone you love dies a slow and painful death. You will be useless."
"No..."
"And I will blow up the planet afterwords, to make sure everyone is dead. Forever."
Cabba cried as he looked at the sadistic Vegeta.
Vegeta... what is wrong with you?
I started worrying. He was acting like his more cruel nature. His sadistic side I never liked...
"What is happening? What are you doing, Vegeta?" I asked, I felt blood on my lips, it's salty taste in my mouth.
"Well, I wanted you to fight me. So, I needed to grab you from the wreckage and drag you out here." And he threw me on the ground, grass in my mouth and my insides hurting so much.
"Why did you do this, Vegeta? Can't you see you are hurting people you love?!" I said, still on the ground.
"Love is such a over used word, Katarina. What is love? Huh? Friends? Family? What is it?"
"Vegeta, love is in many forms." I started to stand, slowly standing.
"In its purest form, it can be loving and feel like the best feeling in the world. It could be like friendship, romance, family love. It is never a true thing, it's what you and others think what love is. No matter what, Vegeta, I will always love you. You can never change that! I could be struck down by you right now and still love you. You can do anything to me and I will still love you. Vegeta, you have been the strangest puzzle I have tried to figure out. You have shown to have heart. I know that Babidi may have your mind, but he doesn't have your heart. I need to know that you are still that Vegeta I fell in love with. Show me..."
The memory plagued my thoughts. The moment Vegeta lost all control. His humanity gone, his sense of sanity was non existent.
Was Vegeta resorting back to his old ways?
Chills ran down my spine as the picture of Majin Vegeta flooded my thoughts. Tears started rolling down my cheeks. He couldn't... He just couldn't have turned like this because he was facing another Saiyan.
Not again.
Not ever.
