♕ Chapter 5

Two days, before the Royal Wedding of Rose Humphrey and Seth Larston, a special Royal Engagement ceremony was held. The ceremony was held in the palace. Rose and her family were invited to live in the castle, until the wedding day. Much to Ethan and Jace pleasant.

"Wicked cool!" Ethan squealed and kept circling around Rose's chamber. Rose shook her head, and pulled Ethan's shirt. "Will you stop walking?" She grumbled.

Then she turned to Jace, who had just got out from the bathroom. "And you, Jace. How many times do you have to use the bathroom?" She said, sarcastically. "The bathroom is even bigger than our house, Rose!" Jace said, in awe. Rose slammed herself onto the king size bed that was covered with white flowery comforter, shaking her head.

Ethan climbed onto the bed and started to jump. "Even the bed is huge!" He cheered and kept on jumping. Rose who was annoyed, pulled his legs, causing him to fall onto the bed. "Stop acting like an idiot!" She thundered. Ethan stuck out his tongue and ignored his sister.

He got up to his feet and jumped again. Jace was busy observing himself in front the huge dressing mirror (everything was huge in the palace). "Hello. I'm Prince Jace. How nice to see you," he said in a British accent. Rose slapped her forehead and gave in to her brothers. She pulled a pillow and covered her face using it, not willing to watch them acting stupid.

The chamber doors were knocked on. Ethan stopped jumping, and climbed off from the bed. "Come in," Rose said and the doors were opened. Two maids came in; one holstering a pair of white four-inch high heels on a pillow and another one was bringing her engagement dress.

She motioned towards them and beamed on the dress. It was beautiful - a short halter neck dark blue dress. "Miss Humphrey, you must get ready," the maid told her. Rose nodded before turning herself to her brothers.

"Get out. I want to get dressed," she said, hands on her waist. She didn't even know why they were here in the first place. Her parents had gone to meet Madam Hartford, to discuss about her wedding. Ethan sighed. "Do we have to?" He pleaded, blinking his eyes. Rose raised and eyebrow and showed them the way out.

"You're evil," Ethan blurted and inched out from the bedroom. "I know," Rose smiled. She then cleared her throat to alert Jace who was still beaming in front of the mirror. Jace then followed his brother and shut the doors behind. "Idiots," Rose sneered and took the dress from the maid.

"You looked beautiful! I can't even recognize you now!" Her mother praised, when she got into the chamber. She was looking stunning as well - red classical dress and her hair was curled. Her father showed up from behind her, and Rose beamed at him.

It was the first time she'd ever seen her father wearing a tuxedo. Rose grinned, and looked at the mirror. Yes, she looked different, with all the make-up. Her hair was pulled at the back, with little curls escaping around her face. "Thanks mom," she held her hand and got up to her feet. She glanced at the big old clock -7.30, almost time.

She rubbed her hands together and kept circling around the room, trying to stay calm. "What's wrong?" Jen asked concern and held her daughter's shoulders. "Don't tell me that you're nervous? You have never been nervous!" She sneered before turning her eyes to Tom, who was smiling brightly. Ros chuckled and hugged her mother. Her father motioned closer to them.

Rose let go of her, and saw that her eyes were filled with tears. "Don't cry," she said and wiped off her tears. "I just can't believe that you're getting engaged. And two days later, married!" Jen exclaimed and cupped her face. Rose grinned-feeling slightly disappointed as she realised that she was getting married to a man she never loved and barely knew.

The chamber door was knocked on again. Two men entered her room. "Its time. We'll escort you to the Grand Hall," he instructed. Rose nodded and smiled at her parents. "I'm getting engaged!" She squealed playfully, and her parents laughed. Tom looped his arm.

"Shall we go now, Princess Rose,” he asked. Rose giggled and looped her arm through his. They walked to the Hall, escorted by a few bodyguards. When they reached the hall, they halted in front of the doors.

"The arrival of the bride, Miss Roseline Jennifer Humphrey," she heard her name being announced, and the doors were opened. Her eyes widened and her legs trembled as she saw hundreds of people in the Hall. Most of them were from the royalty.

From far, she could saw a glimpse of Prince Seth, at the far end of the hall; in his official Prince suit. Rose walked as gracefully as possible, making sure that she wouldn’t tremble and all eyes were on her. The orchestra, on the left side of the hall, were playing classical music as she walk on the red carpet.

When she reached Prince Seth, she let go of her father, kissed him and looped her hand through his arm. She glimpsed at Prince Seth, for a moment, and she had to admit that he looked even handsome in his official suit.

Suddenly, Seth lowered his head and moved to her ear. "Smile and pretend like we've known each other for years. And don't even try to embarrass me," he warned, whispering through her ear. Rose frowned and stared at him. "Prat," she cursed under her breath.

"We are gather here tonight to celebrate the Royal Engagement of Crown Prince of Andorra, Prince Seth Larston and his beloved Miss Roseline Humphrey," the emcee said proudly. "Beloved?" Rose snorted. Seth, who heard her, nudged her.

She looked around the Hall; King Edward, who was also wearing his official King suit was standing beside his wife and mother, Queen Carla who looked gorgeous in her purple evening gown and Princess Meredith in gold-coloured long dress.

Madam Hartford walked towards them, bowed down and handed the Prince a small box, which Rose knew - contained their wedding rings. Prince Seth opened it and took a ring from it. Rose eyes widened, beaming on the ring. It was a silvery ring, with a pink diamond at the centre.

Seth took her hand and slipped the ring onto her finger. The guests clapped their hands as Seth kissed her forehead. Rose gasped and her cheeks reddened. Did he just kiss me? Seth looked away and raised a hand to the crowd.

Rose and Seth walked around the hall, greeting the guests. Everyone congratulated them on their engagement, and some did praise Rose, telling her that she looked beautiful. "You're one lucky man, Prince Seth. Miss Humphrey is gorgeous!" Duke of Wellington praised her beauty.

Rose looked down and giggled shyly. Seth rolled his eyes and stared at her. She did looked very beautiful, but he was too stubborn to admit it. "Thank you," he said and shook his hand. He then gestured Rose away from there. "Don't be so happy. He was just being nice," Seth sneered as they walked in the hall.

"Don't be so jealous. No one said you looked good," Rose said, sarcasm hitting every word. Seth chuckled and stopped walking, turning himself to her. "I don't have to be told. I could know it by myself," he bragged. Rose snorted. "HA HA HA," she mocked him.

Seth frowned and annoyed. Rose just gave him a big smile. Then, his back was tapped. He turned back and his mouth fell open. A guy-about six-foot with wavy blond hair, a straight nose and about the same age as Seth was standing behind him. "Alex?" Seth shouted.

The guy nodded and stretched a hand. "Halloo Prince Seth," he joked as he shook his hand. "Long time no see," Seth chuckled and pulled him for a hug. Rose wondered who he was, and he was hot just like Seth. Only that he was blond.

"Why you didn't tell me that you were here?" Seth said, looking happy to meet him. Alex laughed and tapped his shoulder. "I wanted it to be a surprise," he said before turning his eyes to Rose. "So, this is Cinderella, huh?" He asked and gave a warm smile to Rose.

Rose smiled. Jace turned to Rose. "Oh, this is Rose Humphrey. Rose, this is my cousin, Alex," he introduced them. Alex offered his hand and Rose shook it. Alex patted his arm. "Can't believe you're getting married," he prattled.

"Nineteen, still in school and you're getting married. Nice." Jace just chuckled. "Hey, let's go to grandma. She'll be thrilled to see you," he wrapped his arm around him and gestured him away from there. Leaving Rose behind. She couldn't believe that he left her but then followed him from behind.

Like Seth had said, Princess Meredith was thrilled when she met her grandson. It had been 14 years since she had last seen him. "I'm glad to see you too, grandma." Alex smiled and held her hand. Meredith squeezed his hand.

"Are you here with your mother? I've missed Princess Christina as much as I missed you," she said and looking around. Alex shook his head. "No, grandma. Mother had to be in London now. She said that she'll be back here as soon as she had settled her matter," he explained. Meredith sighed. "So, she'll miss Seth and Rose wedding then," she said sadly.

Alex smiled. "But I'm here, right?" he soothed her. She touched his cheek. "You really look like your father now," she croaked. Alex grinned and wrapped his arm around her. His father died when he was just five; in a car accident. Since then, Princess Christina and him brought themselves to London and they lived there.

Now, Alex was back to Andorra. Rose smiled as she watched the reunion of a grandson and his grandmother. She could tell that Alex was kind unlike Seth; the prat. Seth rolled his eyes. "What are you staring at?" He blurted. Rose blinked her eyes. "Alex is so nice. Why can't you be more like him?" She mimicked.

"Why? Now, you're wishing that he was your future husband instead of me?" Seth grabbed her arm. Rose looked sharply at him. "I think I am," she mumbled and pulled her arm from his grip. She walked away from there and joined her family. Seth clenched his fist and hated his future wife even more.

The wedding day finally arrived. Everyone in the palace was busy preparing and making sure that everything was perfect. But Rose wasn't ready. She was starting to regret what she decided to do. She was in her chamber in the palace, gazing at the window. Her physical self was ready for the wedding, but her mental, was not.

She was already in her wedding dress; a strapless white flow dress. Her hair was pulled back, and a beautiful tiara was placed on top of it. The doors were opened, and Rose turned to it, praying that it wasn't a group of bodyguards who would be escorting her to the Grand Hall. She wasn't ready, and she wouldn’t ever be.

Her mother skated into her chamber and gazed at her daughter. She never looked as beautiful as that. But there wasn't a single smile on her face. She took her hand and squeezed it. "Is it time?" Rose croaked, sounded both scared and sad.

Jen cupped her face. "Smile. You look beautiful," she soothed her. Rose eyes looked down. "I'm scared, mom," she drawled. "There's nothing to be afraid of. I'll always be at your side," Jen coaxed her.

Rose brought her hands together and tried to smile. The doors cracked open again and this time, Rose's nightmare did come true. A bodyguard entered her room and before he could even speak, "I know," Rose said first.

She hugged her mother for the last time, and went out from her bedroom. They walked to the Grand Hall, where the wedding ceremony was being held. Rose never let go of her mother's hand as she walked. Her heart skipped a beta when they arrived in front of the hall doors.

Five bridesmaids were there; wearing similar pink long dress with laces on the skirt and her father. "Good luck," her mother murmured, kissing her forehead. Rose smiled, and looped her arm through her father's arm. They waited for a few moments before the music started.

The doors finally creaked open, and Rose's heart stopped beating as she saw Seth, standing at the far end; looking nervous too. Rose took her first step into the hall, after the bridesmaids and observed around her. Everything was decorated beautifully. A white carpet ran the length of the hall, where she was a walking, rose at the end of each row, and silk and lace all looped and tied, following the line of the aisle.

The Vicar stood at the front, in his ceremonial robes, next to Seth. Finally, Rose reached her destination, and kissed her dad on the cheek. She looked up at Seth, and her gaze met his. He was looking very handsome; almost killing to be seen.

Seth cleared his throat and took her hands into his. He pulled a deep breath. The ceremony began and it was long. The Vicar started it with the royalty history and bla bla bla. Even Rose almost yawned but Seth managed to nudge her before she could. Finally, the magic words were asked.

"Seth Larston, do you take Roseline Humphrey to be your wife, to live together in marriage. To love and care, in sickness and in health and be faithful to her until your last breath?" The vicar asked.

Blood pounded against her ears so fast until Rose could barely hear his words. She watched Seth. He looked calm. "I do," he said calmly, destroying all her dreams.

The Vicar turned to her; it was her turn. "Roseline Humphrey, do you take Seth Larston to be your husband, to live together in marriage. To love and care, in sickness and in health and be faithful to him until your last breath?" He said, in a serious tone.

Rose was silent and for a moment the crowd stared at her in confusion. She gulped but her voice refused to come out. Seth nudged her gently. "What are you doing?" He whispered, angry.

"I...." but nothing came out from her mouth. She coughed. "I...." again, her voice refused to spit out the magical words. She tried for the last time. "I do," she finally succeeded, third time lucky. Seth slid the ring onto her finger, and Rose did the same.

"I now pronounce you, husband and wife. You may kiss the bride,"

Seth leaned down and kissed her.
