You were sitting outside your classroom, leaning back against the wall as you flipped through your notes. The sunlight was warm, and you felt at ease. Suddenly, you heard a familiar voice.
"Y/n, there you are!" Elijah called out, clearly relieved. He approached you, arms crossed over his chest. "The Stray Kids guys have been looking for you."
You raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Why would they be looking for me?"
"Well, they're kind of my friends," he replied with a playful glint in his eye.
"Oh, so they want me to give them autographs?" you laughed, picturing how they might fawn over their fan stuff. "Or maybe they need help writing songs?"
Elijah shook his head, but his face was filled with admiration. "No, they said they wanted you to join them for lunch. They've been talking about you all week. It seems they're curious to get to know you."
Nervousness started to bubble up in your stomach, but the thought of being around them made you grin. You stood up, straightened your hair, and said, "Okay, let's do it!"
Elijah smiled broadly, and together you walked toward the cafeteria, where you could see the Stray Kids guys gathering. Your heart raced, and you could almost hear it thumping in your ears. Maybe this lunch would lead to something exciting.
As you approached the cafeteria, you soon spotted Chan, who smiled brightly at you and took your hand.
"Hey! There you are," he said, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. He pulled you closer, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. "I was wondering when you'd show up."
You felt a rush of warmth at his touch but also a flutter of nervousness. "Chan, not here!" you whispered, glancing around at the other students who were eyeing you both curiously.
He chuckled softly, his voice playful yet comforting. "What? I'm just happy to see you! Besides, you're with us now. No need to be shy."
As he leaned down, resting his chin on top of your head, you couldn't help but freeze, feeling the warmth of his presence. You could hear the laughter and chatter of the other Stray Kids members, but right now, it felt like it was just the two of you.
"C'mon, let's grab some food," he said, his tone light as he led you toward the table where the others were waiting.
You took a deep breath, trying to gather your thoughts. Being around Chan was both exhilarating and intimidating. Would you be able to keep your cool, or would you turn into a complete mess in front of him and the rest of the guys?
As you joined the group, the atmosphere was lively, and you felt a sense of belonging. Maybe this lunch wouldn't just be an ordinary meal after all.
Elijah raised an eyebrow, looking between you and Chan, confusion etched on his face. "What do you mean by that? You told me I could talk to her if I found Y/n, and now you're saying you two are... what, partners?"
Chan sighed, a mix of exasperation and amusement in his eyes. "Elijah, you're a great friend, but Y/n is our partner. We all care about her. It's not just a friendship; it's something deeper."
He pulled you closer, wrapping an arm around your shoulder as if to protect you from the whirlwind of questions. "We love her, and she loves us," Chan continued, his voice softening as he glanced down at you.
You felt your cheeks heat up, caught between the affection of these amazing guys and the unexpected twist of being at the center of their attention. You had never anticipated this moment, and the warmth of Chan's arm around you made your heart race.
Elijah shook his head, trying to wrap his mind around the situation. "So, you're all in a relationship? Together?"
"Exactly," Chan replied, a grin spreading across his face. "It's a little unconventional, but it works for us. We want you to be a part of it, too, if you're interested."
You looked at Chan, then at Elijah, feeling a mix of excitement and uncertainty. "Are you serious?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
"Dead serious," Chan said, giving you a reassuring smile. "We want you to feel comfortable with us. It's all about love and support."
Elijah shrugged, still processing. "Well, if that's the case, I'm just happy for you both. Just know, I'll always be here for you, Y/n."
You smiled, feeling grateful for Elijah's support, but your heart was racing with the realization that you were part of something bigger than you had ever imagined. With Chan and the others by your side, it felt like anything was possible.
You nodded at Elijah, feeling a mix of empathy and concern. "Thanks, Elijah. I hope you and Ebba find happiness for a long time."
Elijah's expression darkened slightly. "Ebba and I aren't together anymore," he replied, his tone flat.
You blinked, surprised. "Oh, why not?"
Chan, still holding your hand, cleared his throat, shifting slightly. "Um, it might be because I mentioned she should back off, considering she clearly wasn't good for you. She was just using you, honestly," he said, a hint of frustration creeping into his voice. "She's just... not the best person."
Elijah's jaw clenched. "Yeah, well, I didn't see it at first," he admitted, running a hand through his hair. "It sucks, but it's for the best."
You felt a pang of sympathy for Elijah. It wasn't easy to deal with heartbreak, especially when it felt like someone had taken advantage of you. "I'm really sorry, Elijah. You deserve someone who truly cares about you."
Chan squeezed your hand reassuringly, his eyes softening as he looked at you. "You're right, Y/n. Everyone deserves to be with someone who appreciates them."
Elijah sighed, nodding slowly. "I guess I just have to move on. It's hard, but I'll be okay." He gave you a weak smile, trying to mask his hurt.
Chan turned to you, his expression shifting to something more serious. "You know, Y/n, the guys and I are here for you too, no matter what. You can always talk to us about anything, especially if you're feeling overwhelmed."
Feeling a wave of gratitude, you smiled back. "Thank you, Chan. That means a lot. I'm really glad to have you guys in my life."
The conversation hung in the air for a moment, and you could feel the camaraderie building among you. Despite the heaviness of the topic, there was also a sense of hope for what lay ahead, both for Elijah and for you as part of this newfound connection.
Just as you began to settle into the moment with Elijah and Chan, the lively chatter from the cafeteria suddenly drew your attention. You turned to see Jisung and Felix, their faces lighting up as they spotted you.
"We thought you'd never come out of that messy classroom!" Felix squealed, his excitement palpable. He leaned in and playfully nuzzled your scent gland, causing you to squirm.
"Lix, please!" you exclaimed, trying to wriggle away from his affectionate gesture. The warmth of his attention made your cheeks flush, but you couldn't help but laugh at his antics.
Jisung grinned, leaning closer to you. "We were about to send a search party! Did you get lost in all those notes?" His teasing tone made you smile even more.
Elijah rolled his eyes, trying to lighten the mood. "She was just busy being chased down by Chan and me. Nothing too dramatic."
"Chased? More like coaxed," Chan retorted playfully, letting go of your hand as he nudged Elijah's shoulder. "Besides, Y/n is definitely worth waiting for."
Felix's eyes sparkled with mischief as he turned back to you. "So, are you joining us for lunch? Because we saved you a spot!" He gestured to the empty seat next to him, and Jisung gave you an encouraging nod.
You glanced at Elijah and Chan, who exchanged looks of approval. "I'd love to!" you said, feeling a mix of excitement and warmth at being included in their circle.
As you settled into the seat, the atmosphere buzzed with energy, filled with laughter and friendly banter. You realized how lucky you were to be surrounded by such caring friends, each of them bringing their own unique spark to the group.
Felix leaned closer, a playful grin on his face. "So, tell us everything! What did you and Chan talk about?"
You exchanged a quick glance with Chan, feeling the warmth of his gaze, and then turned back to Felix and Jisung. "Oh, just some important stuff. You know, like how amazing you guys are," you replied, grinning.
"Flattery will get you everywhere," Jisung said with a wink, making everyone laugh.
The lunch continued, filled with playful teasing, shared stories, and the unmistakable bond that was forming between all of you. In that moment, you felt a sense of belonging that you had longed for, and you couldn't wait to see where this journey would take you.
Suddenly, you caught a whiff of something distinct in the air—a perfumed, overpowering scent that made your skin crawl. Your gaze flicked to the entrance of the cafeteria, and there they were: the mean girls from your class, strutting in like they owned the place. You rolled your eyes and leaned closer to Chan's chest, seeking the comfort of his embrace. He tightened his hold around you, clearly sensing the shift in your mood.
Just then, Linea approached, her fake smile plastered across her face, the brand earrings dangling in her ears catching the light. "Oh, hey," she said, her voice dripping with insincerity.
Even Elijah looked uncomfortable, shifting in his seat as Linea's presence loomed over the table. You braced yourself for the inevitable.
"Are you whoring around again, Y/N?" she sneered, her eyes flicking between you and Chan, clearly trying to get a rise out of you.
The air around you thickened, and you felt your heart race with a mix of anger and embarrassment. You opened your mouth to respond, but Chan spoke first, his tone calm yet firm. "That's enough, Linea. Don't you have something better to do?"
She laughed, a harsh sound that cut through the chatter of the cafeteria. "Oh, please. I'm just saying what everyone is thinking. You think this little setup is cute? You're just a backup plan for them," she said, gesturing to Elijah and Felix.
You felt a rush of indignation. "I don't need your approval or validation, Linea. You have no idea what's going on here," you shot back, trying to hold your ground.
Chan turned to you, giving your hand a reassuring squeeze. "You're better than this, Y/n. Don't let her get to you," he said softly, but you could see the fire in his eyes as he faced Linea.
"Yeah, seriously," Jisung chimed in, his voice rising above the tension. "You're just jealous because we actually care about Y/n. Maybe try being a decent human for once?"
Linea scoffed, flipping her hair dramatically. "Care? This is just a phase. You'll see." She rolled her eyes and turned to walk away, her laughter trailing behind her.
As the tension slowly dissipated, you let out a breath you didn't realize you were holding. "Thanks, guys. I really appreciate it," you said, glancing around at your friends.
Elijah nodded, his expression serious. "We've got your back, Y/n. Always."
You felt a warmth spreading through you, grateful for their support. As the laughter and conversation resumed around the table, you leaned back against Chan, feeling safe in his embrace. In that moment, you knew you were exactly where you were meant to be, surrounded by people who truly cared.
