Act 14

Disha woke up the next morning with a mix of emotions swirling in her chest. The previous night's revelations about Hoseok's double life had left her feeling both exhilarated and uneasy. Exhilarated because, well, how many people could say they were dating a K-pop idol who was also a doctor? Uneasy because Hana's cryptic warnings still lingered in her mind.

Stretching out on the plush hotel bed, Disha stared at the ceiling, replaying the events of the night before. Hoseok's admission that he was part of one of the biggest boy bands in the world had been a shock, but it was his sincere apology and the way he had held her afterward that stayed with her. For all his fame and the double life he led, Hoseok was still the same person she had come to care about deeply.

But there was something else nagging at her. Something Hana had said, or maybe it was the way she had said it. It was as if she knew something Disha didn't, something important.

Disha grabbed her phone from the bedside table and scrolled through her messages. There it was, the mysterious text from the night before: "You think you know Hoseok? Think again. Meet me tonight if you want the truth."

She had ignored it, but now, curiosity gnawed at her. Who was this person? And what truth were they talking about? Could it have something to do with Hoseok's life as an idol, or was it related to his past with Hana?

A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. Disha quickly slipped out of bed and walked over to the door, peeking through the peephole. It was Hoseok.

"Morning," she said with a smile as she opened the door.

"Morning," Hoseok replied, stepping inside. He looked more relaxed than the night before, dressed in a simple hoodie and jeans. But there was a certain tension in his posture, as if he was still worried about how she was feeling.

"Sleep well?" he asked, his voice gentle.

Disha nodded, though sleep had been sporadic at best. "Yeah, I did. How about you?"

"Better than I expected," Hoseok said, giving her a small smile. He walked over to the window and looked out at the city. "I've been thinking about everything we talked about last night. I want to be completely honest with you, Disha. I don't want anything to come between us."

Disha appreciated his sincerity, but she knew this was the moment to address the text she had received. "Hoseok, there's something I need to tell you."

He turned to face her, concern flashing in his eyes. "What is it?"

She took a deep breath, deciding to be upfront. "I got a text last night, right after you left. It was from an unknown number, and it said, 'You think you know Hoseok? Think again. Meet me tonight if you want the truth.'"

Hoseok's expression hardened, his jaw tightening. "Did you go?"

"No, I didn't," Disha quickly reassured him. "I didn't want to jump to conclusions or get caught up in someone else's games. But it's been bothering me. Do you have any idea who might have sent it?"

Hoseok exhaled slowly, rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm not sure, but it could be related to my work, or maybe someone from my past who wants to cause trouble. I've had a few situations like this before, where people try to dig into my private life and stir things up."

Disha frowned, crossing her arms. "I don't like it. Whoever it is, they're trying to mess with us, and I'm not about to let that happen."

Hoseok nodded, his expression serious. "I'll handle it, Disha. But I don't want you to worry about it. If anything like this happens again, just let me know."

Disha appreciated his protective tone, but she wasn't the type to sit back and let someone else fight her battles. "I'm not just going to ignore it, Hoseok. If someone's trying to get between us, I want to know why. We should figure this out together."

Hoseok smiled at her determination. "I wouldn't expect anything less from you."

Just as they were about to discuss their next steps, Disha's phone buzzed again. She glanced at it and saw another text from the same unknown number: "If you're serious about him, meet me tonight. Same place. 9 PM. Don't bring him."

Disha showed the message to Hoseok, who frowned. "This is getting out of hand. I don't like the idea of you going alone, Disha."

She could see the worry in his eyes, but there was also a part of her that was burning with curiosity. What was this person trying to tell her? What did they know that she didn't?

"I'll go," Disha said, her tone firm. "I'll meet them and find out what they want. But I'll be careful, and I'll make sure you know where I am at all times."

Hoseok didn't look happy about it, but he knew better than to argue with her. "Okay, but promise me you'll call if anything seems off."

"I promise," Disha said, squeezing his hand. "But let's not let this ruin our day. We've got time before tonight. What do you say we go out and explore a bit? I've never been to Seoul before, and I want to see what this city is all about."

Hoseok's face lit up at the suggestion. "That sounds perfect. I'll show you around, and we'll forget about this for a while."

They spent the day wandering through the bustling streets of Seoul, visiting some of the city's most iconic spots. They walked through the serene Gyeongbokgung Palace, where Disha marveled at the history and beauty of the ancient architecture. Hoseok, ever the history buff, shared stories about the Joseon dynasty, making Disha smile at how passionate he was.

Later, they strolled through the vibrant streets of Myeongdong, where they sampled street food and browsed through the shops. Disha couldn't resist teasing Hoseok when they passed by a store with his group's merchandise displayed prominently in the window.

"Should we go in and buy a poster?" she joked, nudging him playfully.

Hoseok laughed, shaking his head. "Only if you promise not to hang it in your room."

By the time the sun began to set, they found themselves at Namsan Tower, taking in the breathtaking view of the city as the lights started to twinkle below. It was a perfect day, and for a moment, Disha allowed herself to forget about the mysterious texts and the meeting that awaited her that night.

As they headed back to the hotel, Hoseok's phone buzzed. He glanced at it and frowned, then quickly put it away.

"What is it?" Disha asked, sensing his sudden change in mood.

"Just work stuff," Hoseok replied, but his tone was distracted. "I'll take care of it later."

Disha didn't press him, but she couldn't shake the feeling that there was more going on than he was letting on. Still, she didn't want to ruin the mood, especially after such a wonderful day.

When they returned to the hotel, Hoseok walked her to her room. "Are you sure you want to do this alone?" he asked, concern etched on his face.

Disha nodded, giving him a reassuring smile. "I'll be fine, Hoseok. I'm just going to hear them out. If it's nothing, I'll be back before you know it."

He leaned in and kissed her softly, a kiss that conveyed all the emotions he didn't say out loud. "Be careful."

"I will," she promised, giving his hand one last squeeze before heading inside.

Disha spent the next hour getting ready, her mind racing with thoughts about what she might discover. She dressed in casual clothes, something comfortable and unassuming, then grabbed her phone and slipped it into her pocket.

As the time approached, Disha's nerves began to tingle, but she pushed them down. She was determined to face whatever was coming head-on.

At 8:45 PM, she left the hotel, hailing a taxi and giving the driver the address from the first text. The ride was quiet, the city lights flashing by as she mentally prepared herself for whatever was about to happen.

The taxi dropped her off in front of a small café tucked away on a quiet street. It looked ordinary enough, with warm lights glowing inside and a few patrons sipping coffee. Disha took a deep breath and stepped inside.

The café was cozy, with soft music playing in the background. She scanned the room, looking for anyone who might be waiting for her. In the far corner, she spotted a figure seated alone, their face partially hidden by a hood.

Disha walked over, her heart pounding in her chest. As she approached, the person looked up, and she was startled to see Hana's familiar face.

"Hana," Disha said, her voice tinged with surprise and suspicion. "You're the one who's been sending those texts?"

Hana nodded, gesturing for Disha to sit. "I told you, Disha. You don't know everything about Hoseok. But I didn't want to do this in a public place. Let's go somewhere we can talk more privately."

Disha hesitated, every instinct in her body screaming at her to turn around and walk away. But something in Hana's eyes—an urgency she couldn't ignore—compelled her to stay.

"Alright," Disha said, her voice steady. "Lead the way."

Hana stood and led her out of the café, down a dimly lit alleyway. Disha's senses were on high alert, but she followed, determined to get to the bottom of whatever was happening.

They stopped in front of an unmarked door, and Hana pulled out a key, unlocking it and gesturing for Disha to enter.

As she stepped inside, Disha felt a chill run down her spine. The room was dimly lit, filled with shadows and an air of mystery.

"Why here?" Disha asked, her voice steady, though her heart raced.

Hana closed the door behind them, her expression unreadable. "Because what I'm about to tell you, Disha, is something that could change everything. Something Hoseok hasn't told you, something that could put you both in danger."

Disha's eyes narrowed, every sense on high alert. "What is it?"

Hana took a deep breath, her eyes locking onto Disha's. "Hoseok isn't just a doctor and an idol. He's part of something much bigger, something that involves secrets, power, and a past that he's been trying to keep hidden. And if you're serious about him, you need to know the truth before it's too late."

Disha's mind raced, her thoughts a whirlwind of confusion and suspicion. But one thing was clear—she was about to step into a world far more complicated than she had ever imagined.

And there was no turning back now.
