A young Juliet Hunter walked into the gym to say goodbye to her teacher. She has long blonde hair, which is held out of her face with a blue hair band, and green braces.
She clutched her yearbook close to her chest. Moving from seventh grade to eighth grade was an important day, not as important as graduating middle school, but still important.
"Mr. Sean?" Julie exclaimed, as she looked for her teacher. She peered up the stairs to the weight room. Julie got out of the way just in time to a kid with curly brown hair and an oversized red hoodie tumble down the stairs.
"Oh my gosh, are you okay?" Julie asked concerned. She may not be the biggest fan of Romeo's but she wasn't just going to ignore him when he was clearly in pain.
He looked dizzy. Tears started to swell in his eyes and he clutched his foot.
"I don't-" He hissed in pain. "Need your help, dork."
Julie huffed at him. "Well, it seems like you do." She offered her hand out to pull him up. He paused for a moment before reluctantly accepting it.
He hobbled up on to his feet before he cried out in pain. He couldn't hold back tears, the pain hurt too much.
Ms. Stinson had been passing through the halls when she glimpsed into the gym to see Romeo and Julie. Anthony and Mr. Sean bolted down the stairs.
"Oh, Romeo, I know it's hard but you'll see us next year. Everything is going to be alright, kiddo. Change is apart of life and you still have a whole year left here." Ms. Stinson gave Romeo a comforting, motherly embrace. Julie couldn't help but look faintly amused.
"Actually, Ms. Stinson, I think Romeo is going to really want to see his mom. It seems he's in pain." Julie stated, not sure of Romeo's parental situation.
"Oh," Ms. Stinson let go, understanding. "Well luckily I just saw his uncle arrive to pick him up. He's waiting at the front of the building."
Juliet and Anthony grabbed onto Romeo, who tried to contain his tears, and helped him walk to his uncle's car.
"What exactly happened?" Julie asked Anthony. She of course hadn't been upstairs in the weight room.
"He dropped a weight on his foot." Anthony told her.
Julie winced. "Ooh ouch. Poor Romeo."
"I'm still here you know." Romeo said in a tone that sounded like he was in pain. "Why are you helping me, Hunter?" Romeo hissed. He understood why Anthony was helping, but Juliet? That didn't make sense.
"You are in pain. I couldn't just abandon you even if I don't like you. It wouldn't be right for me to walk away even if you had other people there to help." Julie told him truthfully.
They walked him out to a cherry red car. Uncle Nick was waiting for him. He looked shocked when he saw his nephew hobbling over with support from Anthony and a blond girl about the same age as them.
"What the heck happened to you, kiddo?" Nick asked.
"He dropped a weight on his foot." Anthony and Juliet said in unison. Nick shook his head and sighed. The kid seemed to get hurt a lot.
"Well, come on then and we can get you the proper medical attention, you too, Anthony. Your dad asked me to pick you up." Uncle Nick told the two boys. Anthony and Julie helped Romeo into the car. Anthony got in too.
"Thanks, Hunter." Romeo told her.
"You're welcome, Cameron. See you two next fall!" Julie waved goodbye as the car pulled out of the school parking lot before looking for her mom's own car. Maybe now that she had helped him he would be nice to her next school year.
Sadly she was mistaken.
