Sorry, but this is not a story update. Not sure whether this is a note or a disclaimer, but seems like some clarification is called for. This story is set in feudal times, many regressive traditions and cultures from those times either do not exist or have transformed radically because society as a whole is always evolving. Some change was made by imperial colonisers or by the impact of Western education, by modern reformist school of thought, by new laws passed or simply because it was the need of the day. The chapters of the story have touched upon or will refer to customs like the caste system, polygamy, concubinage, servitude, community based prostitution, the controversial Muria ghotul, child marriages, sati, jauhar- all of which have actually existed and were considered acceptable by people who subscribed to them once upon a time. 

We live in a far more liberal world, our ideas of morality and values have metamorphosed dramatically and monogamy is the new order of the day. Since most Wattpad readers are quite young they will find it difficult to relate to past traditions which challenge the contemporary construct of the ideal society. Hinting at archaic customs is merely the requirement of the story, to provide it a context. The intention is neither to glorify or romanticise them. Hope you understand.
