Shot-32
"I just... I just got Vidushi's message.. Exclaiming that she has been chased by some unwanted drunkards of the road who just marched into the school taking the advantage of the absence of the authorities... She wrote that she had sneaked into the abandoned old girls common room in order to hide from those people and asked me to rescue her... She also wrote, not to take anyone's help and that she never wanted to become the hot news for gossip.. She just asked me to sneak in and bring her out.. Maybe they'd run away after watching me with her.. They'd realise that she wasn't alone in the whole school.. I was so scared Randhir... I didn't know what to do then.. My rational mind did nudge me at the matter but that moment, I just wanted her to be safe. She was the only friend whom I confide in... But the thing I saw after dashing out of the pool room leaving you alone without informing as she had instructed... I got the biggest shock of my life.. How can people stoop so low for a small issue even?"
Presently, they were seated above the rusted iron table while she narrated the whole incident bit by bit and he sat by her side, holding her palms in between his cold ones and listening to her narration, intently. His jaw clenched with each word she spoke as he felt shudder of anger flow through his veins. He just wanted the name and that day would probably be his/her last day in the school, and Randhir was determined for that. No one gets to hurt HER and he was sure to strangle the jerk within seconds just after Sanyukta spits out the name.
"Go on..." He nudged her, brushing their shoulders as she abruptly stopped at her speech.
"Uhm.. I was walking towards the abandoned corridor carefully and that was when I noticed Vidhushi and Parth together. She looked all fit and fine, like not even any sort of mishap could have happened with her. They were in the library and... Uhmm.. They were... you know.. Together.. And..." Sanyukta was perplexed in the middle of her words. Like how could she even explain something like that, which she saw in the library. More accurately, how could she even describe that she just witnessed Parth and Vidushi making out haphazardly in the empty library, which left her all sweaty and panicky .More over the 'SOS-message' from Vidushi left her higly puzzled and she fled over towards the abandoned corridor, to make out what the heck was with the sudden suspense and thriller kinda situation. She totally wasn't in a mood to run into an 'active' making out couple, though she had done it quite a few times, that she has lost the count even. Nevertheless, now the point was that, she didn't want to run into them otherwise she would have barged in and thrashed Vidushi for her silly prank. Sanyukta was pissed off at Vidushi already. It has been a long period of two-three months that she never bothered to ask Sanyukta about her well being or even acknowledge her, being in the same team, all credits given to her new boyfriend, Parth maybe? She wasnt sure though but the way they were making out in the library totally left her ascertained. But when it comes to getting herself in all sorts of problems and Topsy-Turvy situations, the first and foremost one to help her has always been Sanyukta. Sanyukta at times ponders over the fact that, whom to call her actual friend. The boy in front of her at present, who, at times used to be the venom of her eyes, is the only one, been by her side and helped her, mocked her and boosted her selfconfidence, cheered her up, made her forget about all her miseries, made her feel that homely warmth yet again, in a nutshell, made her feel LOVED, secured and desired. Quite an irony?
"Was it a prank in anyway Sanyukta? I think you must have misinterpreted.. Okay.. Tell me.. What did you see in the library? Were they talking about something?" Randhir asked her with a questioning gaze while she flushed mentally.
"No they weren't talking about anything...! They were just... they.. I mean... Okay leave... Let me complete..." Her voice had a slight sense of annoyance. Was he deliberately trying to make her spit the actual thing out? She cerebrally screamed. He nodded watching her getting awkward.
"I was moving towards the common room when my robe slipped off and I caught hold of it that instant. Obviously I wasn't going to tie it down in the middle of the school corridor, so I just pushed back the door of the nursery classroom and sneaked in to tie it.. While i was busy knotting, I heard some voices.. Like some whispers from the other end of the class room. I tip toed towards the voices and stood behind the rotating board. I heard Aryan's voice and saw that he was talking to someone in the cell phone standing there against the window of the nursery. I heard him instruct someone about 'watching carefully' 'where must have she gone..' 'The plan mustn't fail...'. I just couldn't interpret what actually was he talking about. The next moment I remember, Shravan dashed into the nursery room and he looked petrified. He told him that she must have had returned back to the pool. And that striked my mind. He was behind ME? Like seriously ME? Why the hell even? I was shocked at the relevation. Aryan answered that he had already prepared the trap in the abandoned common room and that Shravan had to bring me towards the room in anyway. I was totally shocked Randhir.. I mean? What wrong did I do to him that he was literally planning like a filthy goon to trap me? Hell, I had always thought him to be a nice guy.. I just couldn't believe what I heard.. That meant, he had planned this trap and indulged Vidushi name in the matter so that I'd react instantly. Everything seemed to fall into the right places.. He did that all just to revenge me? Just for that mere insult of his? Couldn't he just talk or rather scream at me to let go his pented anger? " Sanyukta bellowed miserably. Her eyes glistened with moisture and Randhir felt his anger reach it's pinnacle. The audacity of Aryan! He was stunned! He never thought to harm him, though he had pissed him off a hell lot of times. But for the way that jerk tried to trap his Sanyukta, he surely needed to get thrashed on immediately. He felt his fist bound involuntarily and his head maddened with sheer rage. He banged his fist on the metal table on which they were seated on, making Sanyukta shiver out of shock. He immediately stood up and barged towards the exit, totally determined to expel out Aryan from the school for his misdeed. He surely needed to pay for what he did! What if Sanyukta actually fell for his trap? What if she was harmed because of that stupid revenge of his? What if she was hurt?
"Randhir wait... Wait..." Sanyukta jumped off the table and ran to stop him. She sprinted towards him and entangled his arm with her hands from behind to stop him.
"Wait... Let me complete... Wait..." She protested clutching his arm with all her power, while he tried to jerk her off and walk out.
"Sanyukta let me go... I m not gonna spare that asshole... He has dug his own grave..." He roared, squirming under her tight hold and she forcefully dugged her face on his back and hugged him tightly from behind to stop him from going.
"No no no no.... Calm down Randhir..." She shut her eyes tight and cried out, holding him steady and tight in the same position. He was constantly trying to pull her off but after a few minutes, he had to bow down to her stubbornness. He had almost tried to rip her frame off his, but the girl didn't let him go though he might have had hurt her several times in the process. He relaxed under her hold while she sighed in relief. Her hold loosened over him and he turned back to face her. She had a slight smile on her face when he gazed at her.
"Randhir.... You scare me out..." She closed her eyes and rested her head over the door frame, while he gawked at her with an irritated expression.
"Why did you stop me, you fool?" He snapped.
"Why don't you let me complete?" She bellowed jolting her eyes open.
"What is there to complete after all these?" He remarked irritably.
"I..." She trailed off.
"I have already cleared everything out... I confronted them that instant and questioned him about all these... He.. He was shocked... I have already threatened him... He had shriveled down like a scared cat, I swear.. when he heard that I already knew the things.. I threatened him that I'd unmask his ugly trick in front of Father or rather the CCTV footage of the nursery hall would surely do.. He got scared for sure and started apologizing to me.. I..." She was cut off by him.
"And you forgave him for sure?" Randhir knew her instincts well and he made a sarcastic remark by intuting.
"Ah.. I... I have warned him not to.. I mean.. Not to do such things aga..again..." She held her head down and stammered.
"Wow... Great...!" He just couldn't believe his ears. What was she? Some resemblance of Mother Teresa?
"You..." He marched towards her angrily while she flinched back. He stopped on his pace and ran his fingers through his mane, in utter annoyance.
"Randhir... I..." She tried to voice out her opinion.
"Shut up.. You screwed everything up girl!" He stopped her at her speech indicating a halt by his hand.
"Everyone deserves a chance Randhir... Moreover, I can't just pent my anger over anyone for long... I let it go that moment itself... Aryan was guilty and I felt that..." She voiced out.
"And what made you imagine that he must have been feeling guilty? What sort of a fool are you Sanyukta..? He is not a person to change his thoughts and perceptions over anything so easily... I know him well..." Randhir tried to make her understand but she was adamant.
"Randhir I just did what my heart asked me to do... I don't think he'd try to play funny anymore..." She bellowed , getting irritated.
"Oh is it? Okay .. What's the need of my opinion then? Just... I m leaving..." He groaned and dashed out of the common room leaving her behind.
