Chapter 10: Jealousy
~Lucy's POV~
"Please come to the party with me," I whined. I pouted my lip like a child begging for a shiny new toy.
Erza rolled her eyes. "There's no need to beg." Her face softened, a smile replacing her pursed lips. "Of course I will go with you." I jumped up in the air, taking Erza's hand at the same time.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you." She laughed, her red hair swaying in front of her left eye. The halls of the dorm house were completely empty. Most people were either eating Thanksgiving dinner with their families, or beginning their Black Friday shopping. Erza and I had both come back to the dorms after the traditional dinner.
Our laughter died down, silence taking its place. "How are things between you and Natsu? Did he and his mom still come to dinner?"
Instead of dropping my head to the floor, I looked her directly in the eye. "We actually talked. It was a little awkward at first, but everything kind of resolved itself as the night went along." It was way past midnight. "We still have lots to talk about, but I'd say we're taking a step in the right direction."
Erza smiled, "That's great to hear Lucy. You certainly look a lot better."
Genuine smiles were beginning to come more naturally to me now. "Thank you," I replied kindly. I could feel the happiness shining through me.
"How are you and Jellal? Good as always?" I playfully nudged her shoulder, expressing my joking nature.
"We're fine. He went back home for Thanksgiving. Honestly, I just ate with Gray and Juvia." Her smile beamed as she spoke of Jellal. She really loved him, I could just tell. Something in her tone, posture, eyes, smile, changed at the mention of his name.
"That's great." I said between a yawn. "I'm probably just gonna hit it for the night." I gestured towards my door. "See you tomorrow!" I enthusiastically waved and headed for my soft and warm bed.

"Do I like okay?" I remember having this exact same conversation with Natsu and Levy. I decided to go with a more edgy look tonight. I'm single, why not have a little fun? I was wearing a skin tight black cocktail dress. The cut was short, just covering up my butt. It hugged my skin, a low cut neck line as well.
I added bright red lipstick as well as a smoky eye. I was really going for it tonight.
"You certainly look," Erza paused, eyeing my body. "Ready to party," I smiled, that was just the reaction that I was going for.
"Thanks," I smiled, staring at my reflection through the mirror. Erza was also wearing a short black dress, just not as tight as mine. "That's exactly what I was going for, ready to party."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I am ready to partay," I sang musically. I handed Erza a red solo cup, twirling to deliver it to her.
"I can see that." Erza laughed, swaying in the crowd. "Juvia!" We both squealed as a bluenette came into view.
"Hey guys, long time no see." She waved Gray over, his presence coming into view. We embraced, her blue hair flicking me in the face.
"How have you been?" I questioned eagerly. The music was starting to pick up, my voice as well.
"Great!" She looked so happy. Her eyes sparkled with compassion. They instantly turned solemn. "How are you doing Lucy?" She planted her eyes on the floor, hands clutching each other. I don't know if it was the alcohol or something else, but I suddenly became very annoyed.
"Please don't pity me, I'm fine." I tipped the glass to my lips, the bitter liquid sliding down my throat. I shooed away the topic, refusing to discuss it any longer.
Erza shot Juvia a look, basically shutting her up.
"Hey Lucy," someone mysteriously said as their arm slung around my shoulders.
"Sting!" I exclaimed enthusiastically. His touch caused electricity to dance over my shoulders like ballerinas. His blonde hair was pushed out his face, a little shine of sweat on his forehead. He must have been on the dance floor.
"Hey Erza, Juvia, Gray." The gang and I continued to talk, drink, and laugh for at least another hour. My head was suddenly becoming fuzzy from the excessive amount of drinks. Sting eventually whipped me onto the dance floor, separating us from our group. I didn't really mind it though, nor remembered to be quite honest.
"You look nice tonight," I heard Sting whisper in my ear seductively. I laughed, nudging my nose into Sting's neck. The sweet smell of cologne entered my nose, it was actually really enhancing. As I lifted my head, our eyes met. His green eyes were blazing bright. It was like they had put me under a trance, controlling me to push our actions further.
Before I could even comprehend, our lips crashed together. They tasted of bitter liquor mixed with a cherry flavor. His hand found the crook of my waist, hands exploring my lower back. I clenched his hair with my fist, pulling him closer. Our tongues were just sliding all of the place. I suddenly pulled away, horrified at what my eyes were seeing.
At a moments notice, a blur of pink appeared into my peripherals. As if time completely froze, Natsu stood there, face coated with horror. Everyone else in the room disappeared. We were both completely petrified, staring at one another.
As if in slow motion, Natsu turned away, eyes dropping to the floor. Even from across the room I could see the pain in his eyes. Although my head was fuzzy earlier, this little situation cleared it all up. I brought my fingers up to my lips, wiping away the leftover residue.
"Natsu wait!" I yelled from across the room, pushing past Sting roughly. I had to get to Natsu. I didn't care what obstacle was in my way, I had to see him. Thanks to his hair, he was easy to track. Although I could see people's lips moving and feel the vibrations from the music, my ears didn't process the sound. I only had one mission.
I saw Natsu slam open the back door through the kitchen, exiting the house.
"Natsu wait!" I yelled, following after him. The night breeze hit my face hastily. It felt nice against my hot body, but refused to calm my nerves. Natsu continued to ignore me, walking across the green lawn. My heels were sinking into the soft earth, causing an unbalance. The alcohol wasn't helping either.
I screamed out as I rolled my ankle. Screw this. I took off my shoes and threw them onto the ground. "Natsu!" I yelled after him, picking up speed. I finally caught up to him, blocking his way completely. My breath was uneasy, raspy from the sudden sprint.
"Stop," I said between breaths. My lungs felt just about ready to burst. His body followed accordingly, stopping just as I cut in front of him.
"What do you want Lucy?" He asked coldly, eyes peering down at the wet grass. He wouldn't allow me to see his eyes fully, no matter how I maneuvered myself.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked, trying to grab onto his arm. He flinched and backed away furiously.
"What's wrong with me?" He asked sarcastically, the anger rising in his throat. "What's wrong with you? Even though we had that talk, you still betrayed me." The veins in his arms started popping out against his skin, an action that only occurred when he was extremely upset.
"How did I betray you Natsu?" I asked, becoming more defensive. I didn't do anything wrong. Why does he even care?
"Do I really have to explain it to you Lucy? You just participated in a hardcore make out session with one of my roommates." His eyes met mine, looking for some kind of guilt. I wasn't backing down even though I was scared.
"So what? I'm single Natsu, I can do whatever I want." I crossed my arms and pushed my hair out of my face.
"Pff," Natsu rubbed his chin.
"Why do you care so much Natsu? Why do you even care?" I began to yell.
"I still care about you as a person and-"
"No you don't." I definitely touched a nerve on that one.
"Are you kidding me Lucy? Of course I still care-" I kept cutting him off.
"You were the one who said you didn't love me anymore. So why do you care?"
"Because," he screamed loudly. "I still love you Lucy, I never stopped." I was taken aback, shocked at his confession.
"Then why the hell did you lie?" I asked timidly. Can I even believe the words out of his mouth? What if he's just toying with my emotions?
"I-" he paused, taking a step closer to me. "I messed up."
"How so?" The tension between soon turned very uncomfortable.
"I-I kissed another girl." My eyes grew to a humongous size.
"So you cheated on me, and didn't even have the nerve to tell me about it?" I could feel the tears pushing their way up and past my eye lids.
"It was the first party at the house, and I drank too much, and it just happened. I didn't know how to tell you, so I created that excuse about you and Sting." I was so shocked, that I couldn't even think properly.
"So you're telling me that you created a fake argument just for clarification to break up with me?" Even though I didn't want him to touch me, I allowed his arms to wrap around me.
"I'm sorry Lucy, I really am. I just didn't know how to tell you." His head was placed on my shoulder, a once comforting gesture.
"Who was it?" I asked, ignoring his apology.
"Lucy, are you sure you wa-"
"Who the hell was it. Who is she?"
"Lisanna."
"You're sick. Never talk to me again." With that, I turned and walked away for what I thought was going to be forever.
