so...yeah. i've come to the conclusion that the keychain attached to his keyblade mirrors the state of his heart or a major change he's made in his life.

and in anime tradition, he's survived multiple near-death experiences.

he's no longer caught in an infinite tide, he's swam out. he's no longer a monster from the deep. he's rejected death, and most of the negativity that fate's since thrown at him.

so now his keyblade is the rejection of fate.

yes, the rejection of fate from 358/2 days. it doesn't really matter who else can use it, it works for him, especially with its abilities (it's really defensive), and it reflects a major change.

he has become a new person again. he has changed, and his keyblade has reflected it.
