Inside the fish tank

Previous time I was on an Heereen ship I was confined on a little artificial isle in the middle of a black sea. I was a bit anxious about what they had prepared for me and Cassandra.

Heereen have a lot of space inside their ships. Their bodies are around four times an human body so their rooms are wider then ours. All of them, however, are full of their first essence because anywhere Heereen have to go they have to do it swimming. First essence is a bizarre liquid, you can pour it on things and then removing it leaving the object dry and clean. I think its composition involves some nanotechnology aside with chemical engineering but I never verified that. What I'm certain of is that human beings can't live in it for days just swimming.

Fortunately, Heereen knew this fact too so they prepared for us a series of environments, perfectly sealed and constantly supplied with breathable air. Glass boxes surrounded by the black sea. I didn't exactly now where we were inside the ship but all we could see looking out from the glass walls was first essence.

I don't know what they knew about privacy but they gave a box each of us as bedroom. The two bedrooms were then connected to a larger box, something alike a living room. Bringing some furniture from the Queen Charlotte (Heereen wasn't sure about how to build a bed) we made up something like a little apartment, more precisely, that was what we said to ourself.

For real, we were in the fish tank, now.

The Heereen gave us earbuds connected with their translation system.

"I'm Dora-lac, i'm a scientist. I will be your contact with the Haw crew. I'll be connected with you all time, if you don't want me to hear your words just plug off the earbud. I'm not here to spy you, but I will be the only one understanding you, because I'm the only one connected with the translator. Sorry, but it's easier for us."

Dora-Lac hailed us the moment we plug the earbuds in, for a polite welcome.

The quality of the translation was better than last time. "Greetings Dora-Lac" I answered "I'm happy you're a scientist, it means you got my role the right way. Cassandra, here, is a scientist too, you could probably spend the travel talking together about the site on Arata System"

"It's one of my duties. We discovered few things but it's important for you to know. I'll  leave you for a while, now, but you can hail for me anytime you want"

Dora-Lac voice disappeared, I found Cassandra looking out in the darkness. Artificial light inside the tank made the glass reflecting her worried image most.

"Do you think this Dora-Lac is out there right now?" she asked.

"If so, I think we should see the bioluminescence of his body"

Cassandra embraced herself "I don't wanna be a whiner as always, but this place is just... creepy"

Why lying? It was. "The Heereen could probably kill us just turning a tap, yes"

"We both know they will never do something like that, after all we talked about. It's just... that this place is so far from us... so alien... it's nothing like what we usually consider normal"

"It's not so different from what first encounter with Rafkins was. Just... less wet"

"I'm not sure I can embrace your philosophy about all is possible and good in this universe"

"That's not my philosophy. I think that all can happen will happen and it will not ask you if you consider it good before"

Cassandra tried to elaborate my idea, I saw her expression changing when she thought she could accept that, but then she gave up, giving me back an appeasement smile. "I can't find it so easy"

"It' just because you haven't yet find enough in this galaxy"

All around us trembled a little. The first essence resonated, hitting our glass walls in little tides. Then we started feeling the typical sensation of drifting.

"Here we go" I added "i think this will help"
