Chapter 4 The Boy without Friends?
Marinette's POV:
"I see, then, do you have many friends here?" Marinette responds.
"T-To be h-honest, I have not any friends," Adrien says. He thinks sorry Plagg, but I can not exactly explain you to her.
"Oh, I thought for sure you had lots of friends," Marinette remarks.
"Wh-what makes y-you say that M-Marinette?" Adrien mutters.
"I am not sure," She replies.
"What about you? Do you have friends?" Adrien asked.
"Not unless you count my stepbrother, and stepsister as friends," She says.
"Well, I am sure having siblings is nice," Adrien says.
"I suppose, but they are only related to me since my father married Luka's mother after my mother died. Then, Luka and Juleka became my relatives," She explains.
"I am sorry about your mother," Adrien says.
"I do not remember her since she passed away when I was little. My stepmother makes my father happy, so I am happy for him. My stepsiblings are good to me as well," Marinette tells him.
"Did I tell you Luka is a bit older than me?" She asks.
"You just did," Adrien replies. He laughs a little too.
Adrien's POV:
"Say, wh-why do not you have f-friends?" Adrien asks her. He thinks she is so pretty.
Adrien wishes he was her friend.
"Funny, I could ask you the same question. I mean you are the boy without friends," Marinette responds.
Adrien frowns at the statement because he thought maybe she enjoys their conversation. He thinks perhaps I better go. He does not want to trouble her with his sad life.
"Adrien, I am sorry. It was cruel of me to say such a thing," Marinette says.
"It fine b-because w-who w-wants to be f-friends with m-me anyway?" Adrien blurts out.
"A-Adrien, is that what you think?" Marinette asks him.
Adrien does not answer her. He turns and walks away. He does not so much as a glance back at her. He feels stung to the depths of his very soul by her words. He wonders why Plagg wanted him to bother with her anyway. He goes home with his head down unaware that a certain bluenette watches his every move.
He does not see her as she walks past his place on her way back to her home. He thinks he must have misread the girl's intentions or something. How could he have been so wrong about her? He sighs.
Marinette's POV:
Marinette thinks, Goodness, he sure is a sensitive fellow.
Maybe I was a bit too hard on him.
What should I do to make it up to him?
Marinette's POV:
I better think of something quick otherwise that other girl might swipe him off his feet.
I can not let that happen. I refuse to let it happen.
There must be so a way to get him to see I wish to be his friend, but how?
Adrien's POV:
He thinks I have no friends.
I do not deserve them, right?
I can not even talk to a girl without getting emotional, or embarrassed.
I try to speak to my crush and she all but crushes me.
Adrien's POV:
Plagg must be out of his mind if he thinks she ever is to be my friend.
There is no way the girl will want to be friends with me.
Girls only like me for my looks, but never for anything else.
I am a failure when it comes to this sort of thing.
Luka's POV:
Luka sees Marinette return from the park earlier than usual. He wonders what brought this on when he sees the sadness in her eyes? Who could have done this to her?
"Marinette, sis, what happened?" Luka asks.
"Oh, Luka, it was dreadful. I thought I could befriend the new boy, but I only messed up," Marinette answers.
"Messed up how?" He asks.
"I told him he was the boy without friends and he got angry. I tried to apologize, but he left," She says.
"Goodness, you did mess up. Do not worry, I am sure you will think of something," Luka says.
Marinette's POV:
"Luka, that is just it. I think I blew my one chance to be his friend," Marinette remarks.
Marinette goes to her room. She feels bad that she upset Adrien and thinks he will not wish to speak to her again. She sobs when she thinks about how she wants him in her life. What will she do?
Juleka's POV:
Juleka overheard the whole conversation Luka and Marinette had with each other. She can not help, but feel sorry for Marinette. It sounds like their stepsister wishes to make amends with the new boy. She supposes she will have to think of an idea.
She smiles as she thinks hmm, there must be some way for Marinette to speak to this Adrien person again.
