𝙸𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠 :-
Please introduce yourself.
My name is Fareedah Muaz, you can call me Aaliya, but my pen name is Reedah Muaz.
❂
Well it's wonderful to meet you Aaliya! Why did you decide to go with the name Aaliya?
Well, the name was given to me by a close friend and before you know it,it went viral and everyone started calling me Aaliyah.
❂
It's a beautiful name indeed. When did you first start writing?
I started writing around 2018.
❂
What inspired you to start writing?
Well, before the inspiration,I loved reading novels. The more I read novels, the more I found reasons to start writing. Along the line,I realised that most of the novels I read didn't have any message to pass to society, apart from historical books..So this actually inspired me to write, that's why most of my books that I've written, and even those I'm yet to write, are trying to pass a particular message to society. After all,"the pen is mightier than the sword ".
❂
That is a very powerful saying. Nothing beats the power of words
You mentioned that you like reading. What genres do you prefer to read?
Teen Fic, Romance, Historical Fiction, and Humor.
I also read Adventures and Horrors atimes.
❂
I like mostly like reading LGBTQ romance.
Do you read other genres too or stick to the ones you prefer?
Yeah, I do,actually. Whenever I come across a book I like, I read it, regardless of its genre.
❂
I read your book 'This is My Story', what inspired you to write this book? Did you base it off experiences you witnessed?
Yeah! You are spot on. I actually wrote it based on experience. The events that occur are fictional while the storyline of the story is based on a real experience. That's why I wrote the book to pass some little messages.
❂
What message(s) were you trying to convey to your readers from this specific book?
Firstly, to tell people that "life isn't a bed of roses". The way things changed for the Johnsons in the story from good to bad symbolizes that nothing is permanent and nobody knows what the future holds.
Secondly, "what goes around comes around ". Stephanie was treating others lowly because of her father's status as a rich man.As her family's finance started to hurl backwards, she got a taste of her own medicine.
Thirdly,"when you are the light, everything follows you, but when you are in dark, even your own shadow doesn't follow you ". Mr Johnson's so-called friends deserted him as soon things started to get bad for him.
And lastly, Becky is an example of a good-hearted character. She treated everyone equally, regardless of their social class, and in the end, her kindness pay off.
I guess the general message is:
"That one should keep his words both soft and tender because tomorrow he may have to eat them. Do unto others as you'll have them do unto you and know that everyone is equal in the eyes of the creator".
Hope I'm not disturbing you with my talks.
❂
Not at all! I love listening to them
Those are all wonderful things to convey. I will surely keep them in mind (:
What did your writing process look like for this particular book, considering it's inspirational?
Well,I just find a very quite place, think of so many ideas and write them down in my journal, choose which scene goes with which chapter, and ignore some ideas that do not fit the book. That's the process I used in writing the whole book.
❂
Have you ever thought about making a separate book for all your ignored ideas?
Yeah. I still have that in mind. I've kept them safe in a memo and will surely get back to them.
❂
That's good. What process of editing did you apply/plan on applying to your book?
I'm actually planning on editing the book, because I'm sure you've noticed alot of mistakes. It was my first published book and it was never edited, but right now, I've got some editors who could help me to edit the book and fix all the errors. So this book is surely up for editing.
❂
That's amazing! I'd love to read your book again once it is edited. Do let me know when!
How was the reader feedback and interaction in regard to this book?
A lot said they love the story line and description. Some complained about the lack of paragraphs, punctuation, and grammatical errors, which is what I really want to work on because I want to give them the best.
❂
It's nice that you are trying to improve your writing.
As the author of your work, what did you love most about it (excluding the message)?
What do you expect?I love everything about the work, because it's something I created using my own views and imaginations. I didn't copy from someone else's work or anybody's idea, so I love everything I created *smiles*
❂
Fair enough. How would you describe your writing style?
Well, my writing style is simple but not too good. Honestly, I'm not too proud of it, and I want to do beyond what I published. As always, I want to give the best to my readers.
❂
Why do you think it's not good enough?
Because I haven't achieved what I planned to achieve on this book.I want to aim higher, so I have to work harder to bring the best out of it.
❂
That is a good driving power.
What would you say is an interesting writing/personal quirk of yours?
Well,I can't tell about that for now.I'm still trying to discover myself in the career.
❂
Since you mentioned that grammar is not your strongest suit, which aspect of writing would you say is your strongest?
Creating the storyline and plot, I can say, are definitely my strengths when it comes to writing. That, I'm sure of.
❂
Would you rather lose your ability to read or lose your ability to see forever?
If losing my sight will still give me the ability to read and create a story,I will willingly choose to lose my sight. But you know it will be hard right? So I think I need to see, because as long as I'm seeing, I will never fail to read something xD.
❂
Fair enough xD
Do you prefer e-books or printed books?
To be honest. I prefer printed books.
❂
Me too !I like the feeling of being able to turn pages.
Which Wattpad writer amazes/inspires you the most?
Well! The writers whose works amazes and inspires me are Sawvvy,NeneEhimare and Vilalove.
Including Ihizzy and A_Good_Username07.I really love their works. They inspired me alot.
❂
I'll definitely check them out!
