Ponyboys's POV:

"Hey, I'm having a New Years party, and you're invited," A guy I don't recognize says, handing me an envelope. "Thanks," I say as he goes onto the next guy. "Hi!" Says a voice behind me. I turn around and see my girlfriend, Emily. Quickly, I drop my books and the envelope in my locker, wrap my arms around her waist, and kiss her. She giggles and blushes. "So, how was your day Em?" I ask her. She shrugs. "Fine, I'm just excited for vacation." I smile. I am too, since I'm spending it with her. (I guess it's the day before vacation starts, but I'm skipping to New Year's Eve after this. Hope you don't mind! I had to make it make sense)
"So I see you got invited to a party," She says. I nod and open the invitation. "Can I come?" She asks. I nod. "Of course, I couldn't go without my girl!" I say, winking at her. She graves my hand, and kisses my cheek as we walk out of school together.
*Skip to New Years' Eve*
I knock on the door to Emily's house at exactly 8:00, ready to go to the party. She comes to the door with her hair curled, in a beautiful knee length silver dress. My eyes widen. "Woah," I whisper. She blushes. "Do I look ok?" She asks. I nod. "You look amazing." She giggles, and I take her hand, leading her outside. I can't take my eyes off of her as we get into my car and drive off into the night. "Are you excited for the party?" I ask her. She nods. "Yeah, it sounds really fun." God, she looks stunning. We get there in no time, and they welcome us in. We spend almost the entire night dancing when she says, "Pony, can you go get us some punch?" I nod and walk off. When I get back there's a guy standing in front of her. He has her pushed up against the wall. "Excuse me?" I say. He doesn't move, I probably sound like a coward to him. I look over at Emily, she looks scared and there's tears in her eyes. That's when I get mad. "Hey!" I yell. "You better get off of her right now or else!" The guy just looks at me. "And what if I don't?" He asks. And then I did something I never thought I would. I punched him in the face, making his nose bleed. He held his face in pain and ran away. I immediately went to Emily and hugged her. "Are you ok?" I ask her. She nods and kisses my cheek. After a moment, a slow song comes on. "Wanna dance?" I ask, pulling her in with my hands on her waist. "I'd love to." She puts her arms around my neck, and rests her head on my shoulder. "Hey, guys! Ten seconds to midnight!" Someone yells. They start counting down and when everyone gets to one, I put a finger on Emily's chin and pointed her head towards me so she's looking into my eyes. "Happy New Years, beautiful," I whisper, and kiss her. After a while we decided it would be a good idea to go home. As I was walking her inside, I noticed something. Even with messy hair from dancing all night, and smudged lipstick from kissing so much, she looked just as beautiful as ever, maybe even more so than usual. And no matter how she looked, I loved her more than anything.
