Chapter Three
I was suddenly awoken by someone shaking me by my shoulder.
I groaned and tried to swat them away but failed as soon after I was shaken again.
"Ehhh leave me alone."
"Sorry Willow, but duty calls and we're behind schedule to get to Lord Alexandrine's castle," they said and shook me again but more gentler this time.
I shielded my eyes from the light and opened them slowly until I could finally see without being blinded.
"Finally she's awake. I was starting to think she'd died," a familiarly annoying voice said from my left.
Apparently I'd slept on the forest floor that night and I could feel the consequences in my lower back. I stretched my back wincing from the pain.
"You'd like that wouldn't you Kane?" I muttered under my breath as I stretched myself like a cat.
"As a matter of fact I would but as Alan here said, duty calls," Kane answered, slapping Alan on the shoulder and walking toward me.
"Come on get up. Times a wasting."
"Yeah yeah, I'm getting up," I said while staggering around as I got to my feet.
When I had finally established my footing Kane grabbed my arm... again.
"Uhh... this again? Seriously it's not like I can escape or anything. You're both twice my size for christ sake." I mumbled annoyed.
He of course ignored me and only tightened his grip.
I really do hate this guy...
Alan only shrugged apologetically and took my other arm, but to be fair he held it loosely... unlike someone.
I gave in with a sigh and started walking or more accurately being dragged.
After a while I noticed the forest was starting to thin out and the sky become visible. I hadn't noticed before but now I realised there was actually two suns in the sky, one much bigger then the other.
We are definitely not on earth.
Hah! and the blue and purple guys didn't already give that away...
"Emm... Alan where are we exactly?" I inquired casually.
"Alexia of course. Well technically we're in the forest of Curas but, we'll soon be in Alexia where the Lord and most of his subjects live." He replied as if it was obvious.
okay...that information didn't help one bit because I'm still as clueless as ever. And what's with 'his subjects'?
I really do not want to meet this guy. Like really he was a lord??? Like from the medieval times? Sounds like a bit of a pretentious assh- No Willow you're better than this. Give the guy the benefits of the doubt. You haven't even met him yet. But he did order these guys to capture me...
I sighed and l shock my head.
"Would you stop sighing. It's so annoying. Like every second all you can hear is-" Kane rambled on but I decided to ignore anything and everything he said in preference to imagine a cold and refreshing ice-cream. I can just picture the milky whiteness of it with multicoloured sprinkles on top. I'd have ten of them and still wouldn't have enough.
As if on queue my stomach chose this moment to demonstrate the sound of a dying whale.
"What the hell was that?" Kane said with a disgruntled lock on his face as he stared at my stomach accusingly, which was kind of hilarious.
I sniggered and replied, "I don't know maybe I'm dying."
"Really? Maybe my lucks starting to turn around," he said with a hopeful glint in his eyes but that expression quickly changed to a wince when Alan gave him a prompt punch on the arm. Which by the way brought great joy to my heart.
"Oww! I was kidding, kiddiiingg."
I rolled my eyes and looked ahead to see that we were approaching what looked like a road. There was also a sign with some foreign looking symbols on it. As I came closer i found that it was made of what looked like tarmac but with more of a metallic look to it.
Maybe this was me chance of getting back to civilisation. Surely there would be other people that could help me?
As I pondered my possible escape, they made an abrupt stop at the very edge of the road making me nearly fall flat on my face.
"What the hell? Warn a girl," I complained to no avail.
Alan stretched he's arm out until it appeared to hit a hard surface.
What the... is it another one of them doors?
I guess I'll be finding out soon enough as he was now pushing against it and I could see a slight crack start to form in the air.
