"I am in love with you." The words slipped out of my mouth and as soon as they were out wished that I could take them back. The moment seemed to be in slow motion, encased in a haze. My words hung in the air like a sword over our heads and the suspense was killing me. Riley didn't say a word. She looked surprised, shocked. 

"Riley, i'm sorry I know-" I began to apologize. However I never finished my sentence. Riley moved fast, bringing her free hand to my blushing cheek and pulled us together. She brushed her angel-soft, kiwi lips against mine and my heart stopped. My eyes flew open. Was this really happening? 

Riley pulled away slowly with a caring smile. 

"I love you too." She laughed. 

The shock faded and pure joy overtook me. I bit my lower lip thinking about the kiss and letting it sink in that I was in love with my best friend and she loved me too. Tears began to fill my eyes. 

"Aww, Peaches what's wrong?" Riley asked her smile fading. 

"I've never let myself care about anyone before, Riles. I don't want to lose you." I explained. 

"Oh Maya." Riley sighed and pulled me in for a hug. "I'm NEVER going to leave you. Even if we dont work out, I will always be right here." 

I tightened my grip on the taller brunette. I buried my face in her hair taking it all in. 

This time I was the first to pull away. And Riley was the one who looked concerned. 

"What's wrong Honey?" I sniffled. 

"What are my parents going to say? How am I going to tell them?" She fretted. 

A smirk rose on my lips as I stood and walked to Riley's bedroom door. I motioned for her to stay quiet as I grabbed the door handle and jerked the door open. Cory, Topanga, and Lucas all let out yelps as they fell into the room. 

"Mom! Dad! Lucas!" Riley jumped up from her seat. "You were spying on us?!" She protested. 

"I honestly don't know why you find that so surprising." Lucas smiled from his place on the floor, making us all laugh.
