Ruby's POV: 

I woke up and got dressed then woke up Yang and Blake as they both got ready. Then I notice Weiss and Y/N still asleep.

I walked right beside the bed before blowing a whistle I got from my pocket. Then Weiss yawned then stretched her arms as looked down at a sleeping Y/N before smiling.

Then I blew the whistle waking up Y/N and making the both of them fall off the bed.

Weiss: Gah! (falls on top of Y/N) 

Ruby: Goooood morning Team Rwby!

Y/N's POV: 

Y/N: What?! Where?!

I look around as I looked up and saw a blushing heiress sitting on my waist. I was also blushing before I decided to mess with Weiss.

Y/N: (jokes) Jeez, Weiss. At least take me to dinner first.

Then she quickly stood up, dusting herself off before replying with a red face.

Weiss: Like I'd ever go on a date with you! (mutters) But you are handsome, you dolt.

Y/N: What was that? 

Weiss: N-nothing! Ruby, what in the world is wrong with you?!

Y/N: (yawns) You better get use to that if you're living with Ruby.

Ruby: Now that you two are awake, we can officially begin our first order of business!

Weiss: Excuse me? 

Y/N: Begin what? 

Yang: (holds a bag of items) Decorating!

Weiss: What? 

Blake: We still have to unpack (her suit case falls open) And clean.

Ruby then blows a whistle in front of Weiss making her fall over again. I groan as I went back on the bed and pulled the blanket. 

Ruby: Y/N, it's not bedtime yet! 

Ruby then belly flops me. 

Y/N: GAAH!!! Alright, alright, I'm up!

We then started decorating our room: Yang hangs up a band poster, Weiss hangs a painting of a forest, Blake puts her books on a bookshelf, and I put my electric guitar on a stand.

Weiss: This isn't going to work.

Blake: It is a bit cramped.

Yang: Maybe we should ditch some of our stuff...

Y/N: And sleep on the floor for four years? Great plan Yang!

Ruby: Or we could ditch the beds... and replace them with bunk beds!

Weiss: Umm, that sounds incredibly dangerous.

Yang: And super awesome!

Blake: It does seem efficient.

Y/N: Eh, I don't care. I'll just go wait in the hall.

I started walking out of the room and into the hallway and waited a few minutes, then hearing the sounds of construction before I knock on the door.

Y/N: You ladies alright in here?

I walked through the door then saw the most unstable looking bunk beds.

Y/N: Um, those don't look very safe.

One of the beds let's out an ominous long creak.

Yang: Their perfectly fine. (another creak comes from the bed) Mostly fine.

Y/N: (sarcastic) Yeah, sure Yang, and I'm a wizard. (putting my clothes on) 

Yang: Aww, did ya have to get dressed?~ I like it more if you were to go pantsless~

Y/N: (blush a bit) Okaaay, whatever you say babe. 

She looked like she would pass out if her face got any redder.

Y/N: So Ruby, as leader what's our next order of business?

Ruby: (brought up her schedule) We have a few classes together today at 9 we've gotta be-

Y/N: Did you say 9 o'clock? (looks at a nearby clock) 

Ruby: Um...

Y/N: It's already 8:55! 

3rd Person POV: 

Y/N runs out off his dorm and down the hall, the members of RWBY and JNPR peeking out from their doorways to look at him go.

Ruby: Uhh, t-t-to class!

Ruby runs out, followed by Weiss, Yang, and Blake.

Jaune: Class...?

Jaune loses his balance and ends up toppling Nora, Pyrrha, Ren and on top of him. He manages to get out from under them and start dashing.

Jaune: We're gonna be late!

While Y/N was rushing to class, he accidentally gets bumped by someone. He looks up to see a tall and muscular women with red hair, horns, and a red dragon tail.

Woman: Oh my, I'm sorry! I didn't see you there. Are you alright?

Y/N: Yeah, I'm fine. (gets up) I should be apologizing, I was in a hurry after all.

Kala: It's okay. I'm Kala. Kala Amanda.

Y/N: Y/N Rose.

Kala: Nice to meet you Y/N.

Y/N then notices her tail wagging.

Kala: What?

Y/N: Your tail is wagging on its own. Is that normal to you?

Kala: Oh that? I'm a dragoness, it does that a lot.

She then notices him blushing at her and giggles, then she scratches under his chin.

Kala: Oooh, a bit blushy aren't we?

Y/N: What? No, it's not what it looks like.

Kala: (giggles) Don't worry about it.

Kala pins him to a wall with his face very close to her breasts.

Kala: You know you're pretty cute, babe.

Y/N's face was Turing red as Ruby's cape.

Y/N's mind: What the hell is this?! First Natasha, now her?! Seriously, do all tall women have a dominatrix kinky?!

Kala: (giggles) Whats the matter, babe? Cat got your tongue?

Y/N: I... (blush a bit more) Wait, babe?!

Just then she lets him go.

Kala: I got to get to class, see you there.

Kala starts to walk away, but before she does she grabs Y/N with her tail and hugs him with his face in her breasts. She then kisses him on the cheek and lets him go.

Kala: Okay, got to go. See you later.

She then goes while Y/N was flustered. He then noticed Takeo standing there being calm.

Takeo: What?

Y/N: I... You know what, never mind.

(Timeskip)

The sight of an axe-blunderbuss weapon pans down to the boards displaying various species of Grimm. A King Taijitu, Death Stalker, Beowolf, Boarbatusk, and Ursa behind an elderly teacher named Peter Port.

Port: Monsters! Deeeemons... Prowlers of the night! Yes, the creatures of Grimm have many names, but I merely refer to them as pray! Ha-Ha!

The students in this class are consider to be teams RWBY, DVANT, JNPR, THCS, THNDR, Kala, and Takeo. 

The members of Team RWBY, who are seated in the front row, are in varying stages of interest; Y/N had his feet on the desk trying not to fall asleep, Blake and Yang are sitting up and paying attention, Weiss is taking notes, and Ruby has her head propped in her hand as she takes a quick nap until she is woken back by Port's terrible jokes, receives a cricket-filled silence as a result.

Port: Uhhhh... And you shall too, upon graduating from this prestigious academy! Now, as I was saying: Vale, as well as the other kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world! Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces! And that's where we come in. Huntsman! Huntresses...(gives Yang a wink) 

Yang: (groans) 

Y/N: Wink at my sister like that again and cut your eyes out.

He nodded, understanding that Y/N was serious.

Port: Individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves! From what, you ask? Why, the very world!

A random student raises his fist.

Student: Ayyyy-yep!

Stands like this for a moment as everyone looks at him strangely before sitting back down, embarrassed.

Y/N's POV: 

Y/N's mind: Jesus Christ, I'm board out of my fucking mind here!

Port: That is what you are training to become. But first: A story. A tale of a young, handsome man.

Y/N's mind: Let me guess?

Port: Me!

Y/N's mind: (sigh) Of course...

Port: When I was a boy...

His words fade into the background in a series of "blahs". While Port is telling his story, Blake who is sitting next to me, nudges my to get my attention and whispers.

Blake: How're you feeling, Y/N?

Y/N: Never better actually! Why do you ask?

Blake: It's just that... just please try to be more careful next time.

Y/N: In situations like before, both you and I know that I can't do that.

Blake: I mean, what if Weiss is right? What if you do lose your Semblance, or worse?

Y/N: C'mon Blake, you know that you would've done the same thing right?

Blake: ...

Y/N: For now, who knows what'll happen to me? Let's just be glad that no one died.

Blake gave me a worried look, as I just smiled back. Blake sighed in defeat, then smiles back.

Blake: You're unbelievable you know that?

Y/N: I get that a lot.

Ruby then shows us her drawing.

Me, Blake and Yang are heard laughing, but Weiss looks annoyed.

Port: Ah-heh-hem!

Professor Poop then waits until he has our attention again.

Y/N: Ahem. Sorry continue. (crossed my arms) 

Port: In the end, the Beowolf was no match for my sheer tenacity, and I returned to my village with the beast in captivity and my head held high, celebrated as a hero!

Port takes a bow as I notice Weiss slowly getting more and more frustrated with Ruby's antics.

Port: The mortal of the story? A true Huntsman must be honorable!

Ruby is balancing an apple on a book with her pencil held only by her finger while making a silly face.

Port: A true Huntsman must be dependable!

Ruby falls back asleep again.

Port: A true Huntsman must be strategic, well-educated, and wise!

Ruby is not-so-subtly picking her nose, much to Weiss's building anger.

Y/N: Oh boy...

Port: So, who among you believes themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?

Me and Weiss' hands shot up.

Y/N and Weiss: I do sir!

Port: Well, then, let's find out!

He turns to gesture at the glowing red eyes surrounded by shadow shaking cage that traps it. 

Port: Step forward, and face your opponent!

Weiss then whispered to me.

Weiss: What do you think your doing?

Y/N: Nothing, just bored of this guys stories.

Weiss: Hmmph. You better not copy my moves. (walks out towards the door) 

Y/N: (smirks) Don't worry, sweetheart, I don't plan on doing that.

She exits the room then a few minutes later she came back wearing her combat gear. As she stands in front of the cage as the Grimm rattles the cage.

Ruby, Blake, and Yang cheer for their teammate from their seats in the front row.

Yang: (raising her fist) Goooo, Weiss!

Blake: (waving a small flag saying "RWBY") Fight well!

Rub: Yeah, represent teeeeam RWBY!

Weiss: (lowering her sword and looking over at her "leader") Ruby! I'm trying to focus!

Ruby: (looking sheepish) Oh, um... Sorry...

Y/N's mind: I should have a talk with Weiss when this is over. 

Port: Allllright! (next to the cage, pulling out his axe) Let the first match... begin!

Professor Port swings his weapon and breaks the lock, dropping the cage door and revealing a Boarbatusk inside, which immediately charges at Weiss. 

Weiss uses her Myrtenaster to deflect the Boarbatusk' attacks and rolls to the side, readying herself for the Boarbatusk' next move. The Boarbatusk stands its distance away from its opponent, studying Weiss.

Port: Ha-ha! Wasn't expecting that, were you?

Ruby: Hang in there, Weiss!

Weiss is now speeding towards the oncoming Boarbatusk, sticking her blade straight at its skull, but when they meet her Myrtenaster is stuck in the Boarbatusk' tusks. 

Weiss is still holding on to the hilt, and is tossed around as she struggles to get her rapier back.

Port: Bold, new approach. I like it!

Ruby: C'mon Weiss, show it who's boss!

Weiss turns to glare at Ruby, only for the Boarbatusk to turn its head and rip Weiss' sword out of her grip. Myrtenaster lands far away from Weiss, who is then knocked back by the Boarbatusk' tusks.

Port: Oh-ho! Now what will you do without your weapon?

Weiss looks up just in time to see the Boarbatusk charge towards her again, rolling out of the way just in time to avoid getting trampled by the Boarbatusk and making it crash into a desk. 

Weiss then rushes towards her sword and slides to get it back in her hand.

Ruby: Weiss! Go for its belly! There's no armor underneath-

Weiss: (turning to Ruby) Stop telling me what to do!

Ruby looks hurt by Weiss' comment causing me to frown at her.

Y/N's mind: Yeah, I better have a chat with her after.

The Boarbatusk leaps into the air and rolls into a ball, spinning rapidly in the air and landing on the ground, consistently gaining speed until it launches itself towards Weiss. 

The Boarbatusk comes closer and closer, but Weiss activates a blue-white glyph and blocks the Boarbatusk' attack, leaping into the now-black snowflake glyph and turning it blue again so Weiss can drive her blade into the Boarbatusk's stomach. 

The Boarbatusk squeals and falls silent while Weiss gasps in relief.

Port: Bravo, Miss Schnee! 

Weiss stands up at attention from her exhausted position and Ruby continues to frown.

Port: Mr. Rose, would you please step forward?

I got up from my chair and making to the middle of the room and saw a cage a bit bigger than the one Weiss had.

Hanzo: I wonder what kind of skills does he posse. 

Sonro: Me too, I'm so excited! 

Tyrone: Let's find out. 

I gave him the nod as Professor Port broke the lock off again revealing a Beowolf. I then pulled out the Yamato as I notice Dean and Vali had some surprised expression. 

Dean: Wait, that sword...

Vali: It can't be... 

I chose to ignore them as I focus my attention at the Beowolf. It ran at me and tried to claw me, but I dodged and sidestepped I then kick off from it's face doing a backflip to gain distance.

Port: Ahh, I see wearing down your opponent and waiting for a time to strike. Good strategy. 

The Beowolf charged again, this time I quick draw Yamato and cut off it's left arm then stabbed it's leg making it kneel. I sliced its head clean off, kicking its lifeless body back into the cage.

The students and the teams then started to clap besides Vali, Ruby, and Weiss. Hell, even Yang, Arc, Nora, Craten, Sonro, Thror, Natasha, and Kala cheered for me. 

Port: (clapping) Bravo! Bra-vo! It appears we are indeed in the presence of a true Huntsman and Huntress-in-training! 

Nora: Yeah! 

Arcturus: Way a go Y/N!

Yang: That's my little bro! 

Thror: That was splendid. 

Hayner: You said it. 

Port: I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today. Be sure to cover the assigned readings, and... stay vigilant! Class dismissed!

Weiss glares and turns away, walking hurriedly to the exit past her teammates with Ruby following her.

Jaune: Sheesh, what's with her?

Y/N: You guys go on ahead, I'm gonna check up on them. 

Ruby's POV: 

I ran and caught up to Weiss.

Ruby: Weiss!

Weiss: (turning around) What?

Ruby: What's wrong with you? Why are you being-?

Weiss: What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you? You're supposed to be a leader, and all you've been so far is a nuisance!

Ruby: (scoffs) What did I do?

Weiss: That's just it! You've done nothing to earn your position! Back in the forest, you acted like a child, and you've only continued to do so!

Ruby: Weiss, where is this coming from? What happened to all the talk about 'working together'? I thought you believed in acting as a team?

Weiss: Not a team lead by you. I've studied and trained. And quite frankly, I deserve better. (turns her back with her arms crossed) Ozpin made a mistake. (walked off)

I then hear Y/N's voice from behind me.

Y/N: Wow, cookie. Bad first day?

Ruby: (nodded) Hey, Y/N? Is she right? Do you think Ozpin made a mistake?

Y/N: No Ruby! You're a great leader, she just doesn't see it yet! I don't think Ozpin made a mistake.

Ruby: I just wish she would give me the chance.

Y/N: (smiled) Do you want me to go and talk to Weiss?

I nodded and gave him a hug as he rubbed my hair.

Ruby: Thanks, Y/N.

I started running off to our dorm to go and study.

(Timeskip) 

Y/N's POV: 

I found Weiss at a balcony overlooking part of the courtyard I called out to her.

Y/N: Hey Weiss, wait up!

Weiss: (turns to look at me and groans in annoyance) What do you want?

Y/N: Well for starters, I wanted to say that you did well in your fight.

Weiss: (shocked) Oh... Um, thank you!

After a brief moment of silence, she sighed.

Weiss: So what do you really want?

Y/N: I just wanted to talk to you for a second.

I walked over to a nearby beach, sat down and motioned for her to sit next to me which she did.

Y/N: Ok, so something is clearly bothering you. We're a team now, so we have to look out for each other. So, tell me what's bothering you so I can help you.

She looks down and sighs, after a brief moment she looks back up at me.

Weiss: Well, I-I think I should've been the leader of team RWBY.

Y/N: Fuck that.

Weiss: Excuse me?!

Y/N: Sorry, pardon my language. What I meant to say is I disagree.

Weiss: (scoffs) Of course you would! You really believe that Ruby makes a great leader just because she's your sister!

Y/N: That is not the case at all Weiss!

She looks at me confused.

Y/N: The reason Ruby makes a good leader is she keeps a positive attitude, always has a smile on her face, and always supports her friends. You, on the other hand, only think about yourself. You believe to much in "by the book" but the one thing that holds you back, is your attitude.

Weiss: How dare you!

Y/N: See, exactly my point! Have you ever heard of team STRQ?

Weiss: Of course! Everyone has!

Y/N: Our mother is Summer Rose, the leader of team STRQ.

Her eyes widened.

Y/N: And Ruby is just like her in every way. So, yeah Ruby might be a bit immature now but I could tell that she's gonna mature in time and be a great leader, just like our mother.

She sighs and looks down.

Weiss: I-I never thought of it that way.

Y/N: I believe in our leader Weiss, and so should you too. (patting her head) It's only been a day, at least give her a chance. 

I gave her a hug as she blushes, not able to do anything but look flustered at me.

Weiss: (blush) What are you doing?

As I hugged her Weiss was hesitant at first then returned the hug.

Y/N: Just something my mom showed me, she always used to say a hug is the best way to show you care about the person, Weiss. At least give Ruby the chance to be a leader, and if she makes a mistake I'll be there to fix it. I know you wanted to have the position of leader, but instead of trying to be the best leader, strive to be the best person you can. 

Weiss: (looks up at me and smiles) I never would have taken you for a motivational speaker.

Y/N: (shrugs) Heh, I get that a lot. I care about you guys, and I wouldn't want you guys to fight each other. At least let her prove herself that she can be a leader. 

Weiss: Thank you, Y/N. (stands up) I know what I need to do now.

She walks away to go talk to Ruby, leaving me by myself until Ozpin sits down in her place.

Ozpin: You truly are a young man of many wonders Mr. Rose.

Y/N: Hey, I was raised by the best.

Ozpin: (chuckles) Indeed you were. 

(timeskip) 

I walked back to the dorm to see Ruby studying hard.

Y/N: Hey, where am I sleeping? 

Blake peaks her head up from her book.

Blake: You'll be sleeping with me tonight. 

I take my shirt off as Blake raises her book higher trying to hide her blush.

Y/N: (looks at the book) What'cha ya reading

She then tensed up with a blush creeping on her face.

Blake: Promise not to tell anyone?

Y/N: Yeah, sure.

She told me I had a grin on my face. 

Y/N: (jokes) Never thought a girl like you would be into this kind of thing. 

She blushed redder than Ruby's cloak.

Y/N: Anyway, read to me.

I lay on my side then Blake used my arm as a pillow as she was cuddling up to me. She read the book to me as I drifted off to sleep. 

I was then woken up to see the door open revealing Weiss still in her combat gear she seen me awake.

Weiss: Sorry for waking you Y/N.

Y/N: (whispers) Nah, it's cool. 

She then sees Ruby asleep with textbooks open and notes on her bed then shakes Ruby's shoulder.

Ruby: Weiss! I-I was studying, and then I fell asleep! I'm sorry-

Weiss then covers her mouth and shushes her, noticing a mug on Ruby's bed then saying.

Weiss: (lowering her hand) How do you take your coffee?

Ruby: I... I don't...

Weiss: (getting irritated) Answer the question!

Ruby: Uhh! Cream and five sugars!

Weiss: (sighs) Don't move.

Weiss ducks under to her own bed and comes up a moment later with a fresh cup, offering it to Ruby.

Weiss: Here.

Ruby: Um... Thanks, Weiss.

Weiss smiles, then looks apologetic.

Weiss: Ruby, I think you have what it takes to be a good leader.

Ruby smiles appreciatively.

Weiss: Just know that I am going to be the best you'll ever have!

They both share a smile.

Weiss: Good luck studying!

Weiss ducks under, only to come up and point at one of Ruby's papers.

Weiss: That's wrong, by the way.

Ducks under again, and her voice comes the doorway this time.

Weiss: Hey, Ruby?

Ruby: Uh-huh?

Weiss stands in the door with her hand on the knob.

Weiss: I always wanted bunk beds as a kid.

She closes the door. Ruby grinning at the progress with her friend, goes back to her notes.

Y/N's mind: (smiles) Looks like those two patched everything up. (falls asleep)
