Together Forever *End*
His eyes ease open, looking at your face sleepily. A smile comes to his lips, kissing your cheek softly before carefully untangling himself from you, and getting out of bed. He rubs his neck with a yawn. Getting dressed and checking his phone. He freezes, eyes widening before he shifts, looking between you and the phone. "No... I don't want to wake her..." He murmurs, you looked to peaceful. He kisses your temple before hurrying out.
A little while later, you wake up reaching out an arm to wrap around Sabo, but your hand just meets the sheets. A small whine leaves your lips as you open your eyes finding the bed empty where he had been the night before. You sit up with a yawn, stretching and looking around your room with a small frown. "Wonder where he went?" Getting out of bed, you peek out of your room, finding it dark, but the smell of coffee lingering in the hallway. A soft sigh leaves your lips as you close your door, going back to your bed and grabbing your phone to type out a quick message to Sabo.
'You leave?'
'Yeah! Sorry! I got an important text this morning and had to go. How did you sleep?' He replies after a few minutes. You smile a little at your phone.
'Great. What about you?' Setting your phone on your bed, you go to your closet grabbing a set of clothes to change into.
'I slept great! You're so cute when you're asleep!' He responds when you grab your phone again. Giggling, you go to the kitchen typing out another quick message.
'Is that right? I'll have to catch you sleeping sometime to get you back. I bet you're adorable.'You make a cup of coffee and some toast, sitting down at the kitchen table with a sigh. This week was going by fast. The museum you worked at had decided to do a few renovations and would be closed for another few days, leaving you without anything to do for the remainder of the week.
'Heh... I wanted to bring you along but I couldn't bring myself to wake you... What do you wanna do today?'
"Morning." Nami hugs you sleepily.
"Morning." You smile at Nami. "How'd you sleep?"
'I don't know, I'm sure I will find something to do. Hmmm...where did you end up going?' You type out, setting your phone down on the table.
"Mmm good but I still want to sleep." She breathes getting herself a cup of coffee.
"Morning ladies, I got breakfast," Robin says, coming in with some bags. Your phone vibrates soon after.
"What did you get?" You ask as she sets the bags down on the table. Picking up your phone you glance down at the message it.
"Breakfast sandwiches, and doughnuts." She answers.
"Yesss." Nami breathes.
'Went to go see someone.' Sabo texts back.
'Oh okay.' You reply to him, frowning at how cryptic he was being. Grabbing a donut you smile at Robin.
"I'm gunna get fat. I already had toast." You tell her, biting into the donut and humming happily.
"Then we'll go for a run." Robin decides.
"Go see some mages?" Nami nudges you. You giggle, nodding.
"A run sounds good."
"Alright," Robin giggles as you all eat together.
"I'm surprised your boyfriend didn't make us breakfast" Nami teases.
"He left before I woke up this morning." You hum, looking over at your friend. "Said he got an important text and went to meet with someone."
"Huh, that's weird." She frowns lightly.
"I'm sure it's about the hunters," Robin says sipping her coffee nonchalantly.
"Probably so." You nod, poking at a piece of uneaten donut. "I hope everything is okay."
"Me too, I have a feeling if the hunter catches any of the mages, the others will have to leave town." Nami comments, taking the doughnut.
"That's true if they catch one, they'll swarm to comb out the rest." Robin agrees.
"That's horrible..." You frown, leaning back in your chair.
"It's our life." She points out. "Mages can't survive another war."
"I know. I just wish it wasn't like this." You hum, standing from your seat.
"Me too," She gets up as well.
"I'm going to change and then we'll go," Nami says before going.
"Okay." You nod, rocking in your heels slightly.
"You want to check your map and plan a route?" Robin suggests.
"Yeah, that sounds good." You hum, going to your room and grabbing the map from your bedside table before joining Robin back in the kitchen and laying it on the table.
"Let's see where the others are." She hums as you both look it over. You glance down at the map, quickly finding Sabo and Luffy's dot on it. Furrowing your eyebrows, you pick the map up, watching as an orange dot followed the two, staying a few hundred feet behind them.
"That's weird..." You hum, looking over at Robin and Nami. "I've never seen an orange one..."
"It certainly wasn't there before... Maybe it's a rogue..." Robin tilts her head.
"Whats up?" Nami asks returning from her room.
"There is a new dot on the map. And its following Sabo and Luffy..." You murmur. "Do you think I should tell them? I mean...with everything going on this is a little weird."
"We should make sure it's not dangerous first, no point in alarming them if it's a friend." Nami points out.
"Yeah, that's true." You hum, sliding the map back into the folder and putting on your shoes. "Let's see who it is I guess."
"After you ___." Robin smiles, not seeming very worried. Nami shifts uneasily, tugging her clothing in thought. You lead the way to where you had seen the dot, looking down at the map a few times to check and make sure it was still hanging around.
"Okay, I think they're up here." They nod, and soon, you see Sabo, talking with Luffy excitedly about something.
"There's your boyfriend. I don't see anyone out the ordinary." Nami murmurs. You frown, looking down at the map again.
"But it's right here..." Looking around, you don't see anything, making your frown deepen. "Maybe it's nothing..."
"Maybe we should..." Nami breaks off, eyes widening as a familiar guy appears behind Sabo and Luffy. "Is... Is that..." Your eyes widen in surprise, taking a step towards them.
"Ace?"
"That explains the urgency." Robin murmurs in surprise as well. Luffy catches sight of you and waves with a grin, making the other two look over. Sabo grins while Ace nudges him as they approach.
"Good morning beautiful." Sabo greets.
"Good morning." You murmur, giving Sabo a small smile before looking back over at Ace in shock. "So this is who you came to meet. It's nice to see you are well Ace."
"Good to see you too, no wonder Sabo is so cheerful." He chuckles giving you and your roommates a hug.
"Yeah, I kinda wanted it to be a surprise," Sabo rubs his neck.
"Heh sorry..." You mumble, holding up the folder. "Got a little worried when someone new showed up."
"Aww..." Sabo breathes, "You're so cute." He hugs you warmly. He seemed rather touched that you had worried about him. You chuckle, kissing his cheek.
"Well, I'm glad to see that it wasn't anything bad. That's a big relief."
"Yeah, everything is good." He pulls away with a thoughtful smile. Ace shifts smile falling as he looks over.
"Damn." He breathes, watching a silver-haired man approach.
"Hmm? What's up?" You question, following his gaze and tilting your head. "Who is he?"
"I thought I lost him two towns back..." He moves forward, making Luffy and Sabo tense. "The hunter?" Sabo frowns. The hunter stops, opening a compass to look at it briefly. His amber eyes flicker back up to the group before a cloud of smoke bursts from him and he vanishes.
"Is... He using magic...?" Nami gasps, backing up.
"As we feared..." Robin murmurs.
"Get ready!" Ace barks. You blink in shock, grabbing Nami and pulling her behind the four mages.
"I don't understand..." You murmur, "Why would he hunt mages if he's one himself..."
"Because they unlocked their magic to hunt us." Robin shields you two as the hunter materializes from the smoke, knocking Luffy back. Sabo and Ace send fireballs at the hunter but he was already smoke again. You watch as the four battle it out with the hunter, every hit making you flinch.
"I don't know what to do..."
"Please go home." Robin breathes.
"Come on ___-" Nami turns to lead the way but freezes. "Shit." She breathes and you follow her gaze to Akainu.
"Oh no..." You mutter, your voice trembling. "Guys there's another one. We need to get out of here. All of us."
"Fire mages, I've been looking for you." Akainu rumbles, lava coming over his arm.
"Him too?" Nami gasps, moving in front of you.
"Great, are more going to show up?" Ace growls, firing a blast at the hunter. The smoke hunter bursts at Ace but a giant hand smacks him away.
"This is troublesome." Robin frowns as Sabo and Luffy focus on Akainu.
"We can't keep this up," Sabo murmurs. You chew on your lip, looking for an escape for everyone, but the hunters seemed to have any way you could see covered.
"Look, none of us killed your dad, so get lost," Sabo tells Akainu.
"Someone here did. Either way, you mages won't be making it out alive-" A car flies into Akainu, knocking him into the other hunter.
"That would be me." Kid breathes coming up. You stare in shock at the redhead, surprised by his appearance and his confession.
"Kid? You were really the one who did it?"
"Yeah, the bastard attacked me in town and took some of my magic. I had to kill him before he told these shitheads." He shrugs, "Guess I should've known he had a kid..."
"Are you sure you should be fighting?" Sabo frowns.
"I'll kick your ass." Kid responds bluntly.
"He'll be fine. Come on you two, you'll be drained if we don't get you away from here." Law says also joining the group.
"We'll force them out of town, but we'll have to leave immediately after," Robin tells you and Nami.
"O-okay." You nod, a small frown on your face. "Let's go Nami." Taking the woman's hand the two of you start backing away from the fight. Law touches your shoulder, letting you know he was going to escort you both. You turn to head back, glancing back to Sabo briefly before and explosion from the melting car that was on Akainu. You flinch and quicken your pace, frowning as the two of you turn, starting to run from the sounds of the fight behind you. Soon you three reach the house, bursting in quickly.
"W-What now?" She pants as Law looks out the window.
"If you're staying with the others, I suggest you pack your things." He states. You don't even hesitate, going to your room and grabbing a duffel bag from your closet, beginning to throw everything you thought you would need into it. Zipping it closed, you heave a sigh, picking up the bag and looking around your room, making sure that you had everything. You take the bag back to the living room, tossing it down next to the door. Nami comes out with her suitcase.
"I wonder where we'll go, do you think they'll all stay together?" She asks you.
"I don't know." You shrug, pacing for a few seconds before going to sit on the couch. "I hope they do. I think it would be good for them to stick together."
"I hope so too, but if they don't, I'll stay with Robin... So, stay in touch." Nami leans on the back of the couch, peering at your face.
"I will. Don't worry." You hum, giving her a smile. Sighing, you glance at the door. "I hope they are okay..."
"I'm sure they'll be back soon," Nami assures lightly. "Hunters or no, they were outnumbered."
"I know. I still worry though." You say, tapping your fingers on your leg. She places a hand on your shoulder, not sure what else to say. The minutes felt like hours and you felt more and more uneasy with each passing moment. Finally, the front door opens and you both look back as Robin and Sabo rush in. You jump up from the couch, rushing over to the two and looking them both over. "Are you two okay? Are you hurt anywhere?"
"Law healed us when he got back, there's not much time, we need to hurry." Sabo kisses your cheek before sharing a nod with Robin who then goes to her room to pack.
"Do you need to go home to grab stuff too?" You ask Sabo, relieved that he seemed okay.
"Yeah. I just wanted to let you know I'm alright," He cups your cheek before turning to head out. You grab your bag from beside the door, running to catch up with Sabo and taking his hand.
"I'm coming with you." He blinks but smiles softly, squeezing your hand. "Looks like we can start traveling now." He says thoughtfully.
"That's true. I wonder where we will go." You hum, as the two of you walk to Sabo's house.
"Pick a place, and I'll get us there." He kisses your cheek, "We won't be alone though if that's okay with you. But don't worry, it won't be all the time."
"How about Rome. I hear it's beautiful." You smile at him. And don't worry, I don't mind at all."
"Sounds good. Maybe... After we feel more... Secure.. We can go somewhere together for a while... Just us." He hums.
"I like the sound of that." You nod with a happy smile as the two of you reach his house. He nods and guides you in and to his room as Luffy and Ace scramble around packing. Sabo packs swiftly, grabbing journals, yearbooks, and clothes. Once he's done, he guides you back out to find his brothers finished packing.
"Alright... To Rome." Sabo smiles at them.
"To Rome!"
A year later, you were sprawled across the couch, head on Sabo's lap as the two of you watched tv. After a few months of traveling Rome, the two of you had ended up visiting a few other countries before returning to the beautiful city. The two of you had gotten a small apartment in town close to Ace and Luffy. Getting bored with the tv show you look up at Sabo, shifting to poke him in the nose. He blinks in a slight daze before looking down at you with a questioning hum.
"What's on your mind love?" You ask, reaching up to brush some hair from his eyes. He shifts and hums again, looking to the side briefly.
"Let's take a walk, to that place you love to go." He says, looking down at you.
"Place I like to go." You giggle sitting up and kissing his chin. "Trevi Fountain or the Colosseum?"
"Mm, the Colosseum. Sorry, my mind drew a blank for a moment there." He chuckles sheepishly. He's been acting odd these past few days, and it was starting to worry you.
"Okay. Let me go change." You say, kissing his cheek and going to your room. Sighing, you rifle through your closet, pulling something nice but comfortable from a hanger and changing quickly. Looking in the mirror you drag a hand through your hair, a small frown pulling at your lips. Sabo seemed so out of it lately, it made you wonder if maybe he had gotten bored with you, or maybe regretted the decision to move in with you. With another sigh, you slip on your shoes, joining Sabo back in the living room. He blinks at you and smiles softly, kissing your cheek and taking your hand before leading you out. You both head to the Colosseum in silence, Sabo fidgets, seeming lost in thought again. You watch him quietly as the two of you walk along, another frown tugging at your lips.
"Hey is something wrong?" You ask, squeezing his hand a little.
"Hm?" He blinks and looks at you. "No..." He says lightly.
"Oh okay." You look at him a little unbelieving but don't push the issue, looking around at the tourists that were taking pictures along the sidewalk. He pauses, watching you for a bit, frowning worriedly before focusing on the Colosseum ahead.
"Sorry I've been so distant lately... Really sorry..." He says. Glancing over at him, you shrug slightly.
"It's okay. I just worried that I had upset you somehow..."
"N-No of course not!" He insists quickly.
"Okay." You nod, giving him a small smile. "But if something is bothering you, just tell me okay?"
"Nothing is bothering me! I... It's... You'll understand soon..." He sighs as you both reach the Colosseum.
"Sorry, the Colosseum isn't open to anyone right now." A Security Guard was telling the tourists.
"Aww." You frown, tilting your head a little. "I guess we will have to come back another time."
"Um... No." Sabo breathes as the guard nods to him and he guides you past into the Colosseum. You blink at him in shock, glancing back at the guard in confusion.
"How did..."
"I made some friends here for... Occasions when I want to be alone here with you." He smiles, leading you to the center of the Colosseum. "I messaged him before we left... I can't wait anymore." He breathes looking around. "I've tried, our anniversary is only a month away, but I just..." He starts to ramble. You cup both his cheeks in your hands, giving him a small smile.
"Sabo, calm down love." You giggle, giving him a bright smile. "Just tell me what's on your mind." He blinks at you, blushing brighter than you have ever seen him blush. He takes in a deep breath before dropping to his knee and swallowing as he meets your gaze, holding up a small velvet box, opening it to show a beautiful ring with a familiar colored gem.
"W-Will... Will you marry me?" Blinking, tears brim your eyes, as a happy laugh leaves your lips.
"Of course I will." You say, extending your left hand to him. He grins, swiftly slipping the ring on your finger and jumping to his feet, kissing you deeply. You smile against his lips, wrapping your arms around his neck.
"I'm so incredibly happy."
"Heh me too... I've had that on me for a while... I-I went back there to get the stone... And... I've been so nervous that I didn't notice it was affecting you..." He starts to ramble again. Giggling, you bring a finger up to his lips to quiet him.
"It's okay. I understand now." You smile, moving your finger to kiss him again. "And I couldn't be happier."
