TWENTY-TWO. confessions of a love club 𝚍̶𝚛̶𝚊̶𝚖̶𝚊̶ queen
ACT TWO of the musical was soon approaching and everyone had separated to relieve themselves of any other worries.
"You're doing great." Shiloh smiled, her arm looped with Jenna's, "You were so worried for nothing."
"There's still another act to go through."
"And you're going to kill it."
Jenna smiled, "Thank you, Shiloh. I'm going to find Nini to see if she can help me with some runs."
Jenna waved quickly, picking the ends of her dress up, and ran down the hall to find Nini.
Shiloh sighed and continued down the hall. She soon heard Big Red's voice ring out. She wanted to make sure he was okay, you know, we all the dry heaving. As she drew close to the door, Ricky's voice also called out.
"Her name is Lily and I don't think she's as mean as what we thought."
She stopped in her place. Ricky had every right to his own opinion, but he was also entitled to the wrong opinion.
Shiloh backed away from the door and headed into the club room, shutting the door behind her.
Glancing up at the wall, she caught a glimpse of the poster Ricky had gotten her the day of homecoming.
She hadn't taken it down because she didn't want to. She hadn't taken down the painting that she and Ricky made because she didn't want to. She hadn't taken of Ricky's necklace because she didn't want to.
Shiloh's relationship with Ricky meant more to her than anyone could've imagined.
Lily had crossed several lines with Shiloh (pretty much everyone), and Shiloh knew how she felt about the blonde.
Ricky, on the other hand... she couldn't possibly tell anyone what was going on in his mind.
What Shiloh knew was that she didn't need any more confirmation from Ricky on whether or not he loved her. She knew how she felt about him, and she could think about how he felt about her. That was that. There wasn't much she could do. She wasn't going to fight for a relationship that wasn't working. She had tried that already, and it wasn't in the best of her heart.
Shiloh Molina loved Ricky Bowen.
Her next steps were to either take the dog tag necklace off and hope that Ricky would take it back or ditch it and move on completely.
She knew what she wanted. She was going to follow her heart this time.
THINGS COULDN'T have gotten any worse. Ricky's new harness had suddenly disappeared, and everyone had been digging in boxes and looking high and lower for this harness. Ricky Bowen didn't fall on Shiloh for nothing.
"You guys, the orchestra hasn't vamped this much since Bop To The Top." Carlos sighed.
"I know it's here. I preset it." Natalie proclaimed.
Miss. Jenn soon entered the room, "What's wrong?"
"My harness is missing."
Shiloh sighed, "The new one for the transformation."
"What?" Miss. Jenn explained, "No, no, this can't be happening."
"It was here."
"What else can I use?"
"For heaven's sake, can't you just jump off something high?" Miss. Jenn shouted.
A looming silence quickly appeared. Shock written on everyone's faces. A quick glance of hurt on Ricky's.
"Nope." Miss. Jenn said quickly, "Forget I said that. I will not be here."
She left the room. The silence not following her out.
Shiloh rubbed her hand gently over Ricky's back and followed Miss. Jenn out of the room.
Miss. Jenn heard the footsteps following behind her and swiftly turned to face Shiloh.
"I didn't mean that."
"You know you shouldn't be telling me that."
Miss. Jenn sighed, "It's just- I know how important this award means to you kids."
"Is the award worth yelling at Ricky for something he can't control?" Shiloh asked, "What are the Menkies for at this point? We don't know what's going on in that judge's head."
"Menkies are for you."
"I could care less about this award. I'm only here to support my friends. I know the tensions are high, but you need to apologize to him."
Miss. Jenn held her hand over her face, her other on her hip.
Shiloh took steps forward, "I can't speak for the others, but this whole award has changed a lot of things for us... for me anyway, but at the end of the day, I have my people. I wouldn't want to lose the people who had faith in me by exploding at them when it wasn't their fault."
Miss. Jenn knew that Shiloh was right. She knew that what she said was out of the line. She knew she had to apologize, but she couldn't do it now. She was terrified to go back in there.
"Come on." Shiloh smiled, "Let's go think about the consequences of our actions."
Shiloh threw her arm over Miss. Jenn's shoulder, and the two of them headed backstage.
The duo could only hope to get this show over with in a hitch.
