Alana

I unlocked the front door and entered the house. I closed the door behind me and leaned on the door. Did I kiss Luke today? On the lips? It can't mean anything right? It didn't mean anything.

"It definitely meant something, Alana." Eris said with certainty.

No, it didn't because I only did it to distract him.

"Don't kid yourself, Lana. You know part if you wanted to kiss him." She teased.

Shut up, Eris.

"You only say 'shut up' when you know it's true." She said smugly.

I ignored her and forced myself to get up off the ground and walk further into the house.

"Lana. Is that you?" Mom asked.

"Yes ma'am. Where are you?" I asked.

"In the dining room." She answered.

I walked in that direction and before I stepped through threshold if the kitchen, I could smell him here. I took a deep breath and stepped in the kitchen. There sat my mom, Allison, and Jonathan with a bandage strip over his nose. I smirked a little. Good job, Lukas.

"Hey, Lana. How was yoyt run?" Mom asked.

"Excruciatingly painful. Where's the baby?" I asked quickly diverting the subject.

"He was upstairs napping. He should be up now," She sipped some of whatever was in her mug, which was most likely tea,"what do you mean by excruciatingly painful?"

"Why don't you ask him?" I said darkly before turning on my heel and walking upstairs to my room.

I found him sleeping on his stomach with his curly obscuring his face. His chest rose and fell in steady motions. I smiled and laid next to him. As soon as I laid down, he snuggled up under me and let out a sigh if contentment.

I placed an arm around him and closed my eyes.

Flashback

"Alana. You... We can't keep him." Mom sounded exasperated.

"Yes, we can. He doesn't have a home. Why can't you keep him like you kept me.?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Because you were a different story. You need to put him back where you found him." She said sternly pointing towards a wall.

My jaw dropped slightly. "So you want me to abandon him in the woods?! And how could our situation be any different?! He's a baby, I was a baby. He was going to get killed, I was going to get killed," I stared at her intensely,"I'm not seeing a difference."

She leaned on the kitchen counter with her elbows and rubbed her temples. Something she does when she's gets irritated.

"Alana. We are not keeping that baby." She said in a cold voice.

I narrowed my eyes at her and pursed my lips. "It doesn't have to be 'we' I'll take care of him."

She threw up her hands and laughed in disbelief. "Pfft you? Take care of a child?" She crossed her arms.

"Yes. That's exactly what I'm going to do. I couldn't leave him." I said with a straight face.

"Yes, you could have." She said bluntly.

I scoffed. "Mom! How could you be so heartless! I'm keeping him!" I yelled.

"Then you exactly that! He is now your responsibility and yours alone!" She yelled back.

I looked at the chubby face baby fast asleep in my arms. One little curl showed on his forehead from underneath his swaddled head.

"No objections here. But the only thing remains is," I looked at her and smiled sheepishly," he needs a legal family. Are you willing to adopt again?"

She rolled her eyes and groaned with irritation in her voice. "Oh, Alana." She shook her head with defeat.

End of Flashback

I kissed the top of Jaden's head. "I won't let anyone take you from me." I whispered. He stirred a little bit and continued to sleep.

"Well isn't that cute. A mother and her bastard pup." He said with a sneer.

I snarled and turned to face him. "Get out." I said through clenched teeth.

"And miss this tender moment? I think not." He smirked and crossed his arms.

I rolled my eyes and turned on .my back. Every ounce of me wants to break everything. Including his nose. Again. I let out a deep breath through my nostrils and clenched my fists. My breathing became heavy and I was shaking with anger.

I decided to say a little chant that I say to myself when I'm about to lose my temper.

Remember, Lana. You lose your temper, you lose it all. You lose your temper, you lose it all.

Breathing became easier and I felt calmer. Okay... that seemed to work.

"But how long though? You can't expect this to calm you down everytime." She said bluntly.

It's working, isn't it?

"Yea. For now."

Do you have to be so negative?

"Want me to be positive?! Well I'm positive that this little chant will work for now."

You know that's not what I meant!

"That's what I meant so.. oh well"

I huffed and rubbed my temples.

"Did- Did I just witness a mental battle that you had with yourself?" He broke my train of thought with a stifled chuckle.

I felt my pulse quicken again and I turned my head slowly and gave him a death glare.

"Get. Out. Or. I. Will. Hurt. You." I said quietly through clenched teeth.

"For what? We both know you won't. You're too weak of a werewolf to fight back." He said acidly. His every word stung. Part of it is true. I am too weak to fight back...

"Jonathan. I will say it once more. Get. Out." I laughed but not with the slightest if humor. It's the kind of laugh that you run from when someone is angry.

*Remember kids. If you ever see an angry person laugh.. run the other way. You life depends on it.

He stood there defiantly with his arms crossed giving a look that said "Make me"

I felt even angrier than before. I sat up and swung my legs across the bed and glared at him. "So that's how you want to play it, mate?" I growled feeling something take over me. I slowly walked over towards him and had a tight grip on his neck and lifted him off the ground.

"Y-You won't do it." He said with a smirk on his newly red face.

"Who won't?" I growled narrowing my eyes at him tightening my grip on his neck.

I looked at my hands. They were emitting this blue light. I stared at it out of curiosity. Then I looked back at Jonathan who wore the same look if curiosity.

"Wh-What a-are....you?" He asked trying pry my hand away.

"Do you really want to figure that out?" I tilted my head and let a devious grin form on my.face.

"N-N-No." He struggled to breath.

"That's what I thought. You are going to leave and not come back. Got it?" I raised an eyebrow.

He nodded slightly and I dropped him onto the ground where he held his throat and gasped for air.

"Get out or you will be sorry." I looked down at him with a menacing glare.

He quickly scrambled to his feet and left the room.

That's handled for now. Now to figure out what that blue magic hands were. That was flippin' cool.

"Look at my girl getting all tough. You handled that well." Eris said sounding very proud.

I only let a semi-smile creep onto my face and laid back down next to Jaden. I need to speak the Moon Goddess.
