Kion was in the Oasis, lying in the grass, as he was thinking about his friends back in the Pridelands, The Lion Guard. 

Even though three years ago, he decided to leave the Pridelands in hoping to help others in need beyond Pride Rock. 

He asks his team if they wanted to come along in his journey, but they humbly declined his offer and asks to remain in their homeland. 

"Are you sure that you don't want to explore the beyond the Pridelands?" Kion asks his friends before leaving . 

 The Egret said, "It would be fine, Kion. We have families that needed us here in the Pridelands. 

The young teen sighs, "Bunga... I know that it is not an easy thing for me to say goodbye. " 

The Honey Badger gave a small smile at him. "Hey, Hakuna Matata . We'll always be friends no matter what." 

The two friends hug , as he glances at the other two members of the Lion Guard. 

"Fuli, are you going to be all right on your own?"  Kion asks the Cheetah. 

Fuli smirks at that remark, "Of course, I will! Huwezi! "

The lion smiled at her. Then he turns to Beste , the Hippo. 

"Beshte , watch over them for me, ok? I'm asking for you to take that responsibility while I'm away." 

The Hippo nods at his friend's request, "You got it , Kion. Leave it to me." 

The Lion glances at one last look at his homeland, as he beams with total confidence that things would be ok with the Lion Guard disbanded. 

Kion sighs, as he looks at the reflection on the water, "What am I doing? I should go back. I wanted to see Kiara again." 

So, without hesiantace, the young lion got up from his feet and embark the long journey home, back to the Pridelands. 

When he arrived , he was amazed that the Pridelands was still green, like he never left. 

The more anxious he got to see his family again, the wonder of how they recongize him after being away for so long. 

"Well, I guess I believe this is truly happening." He said. 

The young male lion took a deep breath, as if this moment would change him dramically . 

As Kion approaches Pride Rock, the thing that stunned him was the Outsiders . 

"What is going on?!? Why are the Outsiders here in the Pride Rock?!? Is Zira back to take the throne?"  Kion thought as he was about to pounce on the lionessess. 

One of the lioness came forward as she immediately pounces on him to the ground, as she growls in protecting the Pride. 

"Who are you?" She demanded. 

The red lion said, "The name is Kion. Son of Simba and Nala." 

The lioness's eyes widen in total surprise as she gets up from the young lion, as she asks, "Kion? Is that really you?"

The red lion looks at her, "How you know my name?" 

The lioness said, "The last time we encountered , we were just cubs. It's me, Kion. It's Vitani." 

Kion said, in disbelief, "Vit-Vitani? No, you can't be her. She's banished in the Outlands." 

Vitani smiles at Kion, "We were, but not anymore. Simba welcomed us back to the Pridelands three years ago. 

C'mon, I'll escort you to your sister. She'll be thrilled to see you after all this time." 

Kion was skeptical at Vitani. He wasn't too sure if he can trust her, or any member of the Outsiders, considering of how Zira and her family tricked him of when he tried to get Jasiri and her family to get their watering hole back. 

As both lions entered the den, Vitani yells, "Kiara, Kovu, someone is here to see you." 

"Thanks, Vitani! You should go with Nala and the other lionesses for the hunt today. " Kovu said to his sister. 

Kion's instincts kicked in of when he saw Kovu. He attacked the black lion as Kiara and Vitani were shocked of the young lion's actions. 

"Kiara, get away from him! Kovu is a threat!" Kion said to the young lioness as both lionesses exchanged looks at one other for a brief moment. 

But then, both lionesses laughed. 

"This is so funny. I never imagined Kovu would be pinned down by Kion." Vitani exclaimed as Kiara nods with that statement. 

"Yeah. I never thought that would happen." Kiara said. 

Kovu was amused by his mate, "Haha. Very funny. Although, I do recall of how much trouble we were in when we were cubs." 

Kiara smirks, "Awe, yeah, I do recall that, Kovu." 

Vitani said, "Well, I'm off. I 'll see you lovebirds later when we come back." 

Both lions blushed furiously as Kion was confused by Vitani's words as she leaves the den to join in with the other lionesses. 

Kovu said, "I can't believe you're back, Kion. You really had grown into a fine young lion, haven't you? " 

Kion said, "Hm. I don't remember inviting you onto Pride Rock. You and your kind shouldn't be here. " 

"Kion! Stop that. Kovu isn't like how you remembered him when you encountered each other as cubs." Kiara pleads with her younger brother. 

Kion wouldn't listen to his older sister as he races off to the Lair of the Lion Guard, as he saw his old friend, and the royal advisor, Makini. 

The mandrill was painting on the walls of the Lair as he said, "Hujabo , Makini!" 

The mandrill turns around as she exclaims, "Kion!" 

The two friends embraced in a tight hug for their reunion as Kion said, "It seems like you had grown too. I'm glad you're still the Royal Mjuzi . What were you doing just now?"

"Oh, just painting the ceremony of Kovu and Kiara's orientation of becoming the new King and Queen. " 

Kion said, "I know Kiara was to become Queen of the Pridelands, but why you paint Kovu? He's an enemy to the Pridelands, remember?"

The mandrill looks at Kion with an curious expression, "You never knew what happened three years ago? I guess that you and the Lion Guard didn't see how bravely Kiara and Kovu did back then. 

Kiara showed wisdom beyond her years. I guess that you and the Lion Guard must see the paintings. I guess you can say there is wisdom on the walls. " 

Kion was unsure as then he heard some voices, "Hapana! Kion, it's really you! Kiara told us you came back." 

The other members of the Lion Guard peeked out too, as Kion beams of seeing the Lion Guard again. 

"Hujabo , Lion Guard! I know it's been a long time since we been together." 

Beshte said , "Poa! It sure has. As promised, I looked over Fuli and Bunga for ya." 

"Asante , Beshte, I know I can count on you. So, Makani, what you mean Kiara showed wisdom?"

"She was able to bring peace, Kion. " Kion turns to see his father and mother. 

Kion was happy to reunite with his parents as both of them embrace their son, to welcoming back into the Pridelands safely. 

"Oh, Kion. We missed you so much." Nala said to her son. 

"I missed all of you. But why is Kovu here , in the Pridelands and in Pride Rock? Do you remember that he and his pride are our enemies?!? "

The former King smiles at his young son's confusion, as Nala muzzles her mate, "I better get going , Simba. Vitani and the other lionesses are waiting for me. 

We're hunting on antelopes today." 

"Have fun, your highness! "

"I'll be your eyes for the hunt to assist you, Nala." Ono volunteered. 

"Thank you, Ono. That's very generous of you." Nala said, felt relieved that the Keenest of Sight is helping the lionesses out with their hunt. 

Simba turns to his young son, "I bet that you are tired after travelling all this way to the Pridelands. 

We'll host a party tonight with the Lion Guard to celebrate your return home. Makini, would you assemble the arrangements for the ceremony?"

"Of course , Simba! I would be honored to. Also, Kiara said that she has an announcement too. This is must be something important for the Queen to do. " 

The Mandrill went off quickly as she could with her stick as she ran off for looking for paint supplies for the ceremony. 

Kion still looking at the painted drawing at Kiara and Kovu. 

It seems weird for the young lion, to see the Pridelanders and Outsiders together in one place. 

"What is going on here? I just don't know why this happened." Kion thought to himself. 

Before the ceremony begins, Kovu looks at Kion once again. Kiara notices her mate's actions . 

"Hey, it would all work out eventually. You just have to spend time with Kion. " Kiara said, trying to encourage the King of the Pridelands. 

Kovu wasn't too sure if Kion would accept him, he felt the emotion of self-doubt, when Simba denies Kovu's statement of doing the attack ambush by Zira. 

"I don't know, Kiara. He seems to think I am an enemy to the Pride. He wasn't there when we brought the rivalry between our Prides to an end. " The black lion said. 

Kiara just laughs at her mate, "Kovu, I have total faith in you. Just be yourself. " 

The lion was amazed at his mate's words. Even though he never had anyone to have faith in him, Kiara was the one who stood by his side. 

"I guess I could give it a try. " Kovu said, as he knew that he had to make amends with the leader of the Lion Guard.
