Roses began to bloom in the garden of the palace on the start of a spring day. The sun kissed the kingdom of the Joseon Dynasty that early morning as the townsfolk began to walk out of their homes and head out for work while others went out to sell or buy from the nearby town's market. The kingdom was at its highest, food stock flourished, materials were imported from the north peacefully, and territory expanded. The population of the kingdom grew and there were new recruits for the palace guards to stand and protect the people. The early kingdom of Koreaㅡwithin the Joseon Dynastyㅡ was thriving and the early morning consisted of omegas heading out to the lake to wash and carefully stitch fabrics for their alphas.

On the rise of this early spring morning, guards marched down the aisle of the palace to their scheduled post by the gates of the closed land. At the break of the early morning where the sun was only shining it's bright sun rays over mountains afar, omegas, betas, and alphas scattered along the towns in morning chats. Some even negotiated the prices on the fresh catch of the early morning. Halcyon sounds of children giggling and shouting seemed to bleed into the palace and echo into the royal halls where a single alpha ruled early Korea within the Joseon dynasty.

There he was, standing by the window with his bright and royal silk robe already fastened against his skin by his squared metal belt; five golden lines wrapped around it, a jade stone hung at the center, and golden buckles sat above it. The king kept his long black hair tied into a top knot, hiding underneath his crown (an ikseongwan) and his matching headband to keep his hair from falling out (a manggeon). The black crown had dark braids as decoration along the side with small wings sitting at the very top and to tie in the look, he wandered around his throne room with his royal red boots with golden designs embroidered onto it.

This was King Jeon Jungkook of the Joseon dynasty; a wise and silent alpha who tended to his people and held everyone together. The king was at a state of calm that early morning; whispers of the early breeze brushed his pale skin while nothing fled from his pouty lips. His eyes gleamed with a brown like bronze with a hint of golden specs by his pupils and a little mole hiding underneath his slim nose. Life for this daring alpha was bound to be easy with his looks that could easily please angels alike.

On the other hand, Jeon Jungkook was a lonely king. At the time, his people didn't mind him having an absent omega since he recently took the throne, but it was expected for him to find someone very soon to carry the royal line. In fact, the king feared this deep down; finding someone to be his omega shouldn't be a hassle, but not being able to find the right one was terrifying. Love was just like walking on glass; take one wrong step in any direction, consequences were bound to ensue. Jungkook was only a naive king who slowly became desperate and yearned for touch from another living soul. Of course, it was only natural for him to feel this way, he was an Alpha; the dominant class above the Betas and Omegas who fell underneath.

Jungkook stood in his throne room and stretched before dropping back to his Phoenix throne with silence only clawing its way into his mind. His guard was silent and he didn't seem to speak a word until a frequent thought swarmed his mind. "Guard," he spoke, "It's such a beautiful day outside."

"Yes, my King. The mornings are always so delicate," replied the guard while standing still against the pillars to the throne room where the king was bound to.

"Maybe... If I was able to go to The Silent River again today, I believe it will make me the happiest," Jungkook suggested with the slightest smile that seemed to hint at something else.

"Pardon me, my King... I know you await every morning for me to sneak you out again but if word gets out that the King was spotted at the Silent River without a guard and wearing the clothes of a commoner, my head would be hung at the entrance of the palace! You are the King, but if anything was to happen to you, I will be killed," sputtered the guard as he seemed to hold in his fear denying the king of his desire for freedom. "The King is to stay safe at all costs. If you were to go, guards will follow along with your servants."

"But I do not wish to be around anyone, I want to be alone. Last time, I was able to go to The Silent River on my own! I was disguised in white to look like a commoner and I was at the river, painting. No one bothered me- oh please! What is a King begging his guard to be let out for a little painting session? I make the orders here!"

"My King, I bet you don't even know my name to establish this type of friendship. You're a sly alpha, a young and troubling alpha..." Claimed the Guard. It was obvious that the two seemed close despite their roles.

"Don't act that way, Min Yoongi. You see? I still know your name! I am not so selfish to ignore it, I'm not that type of alpha. Besides, can you really talk down to your new King?"

"Ah, you probably had to go through other names to get to mine!" Yoongi whispered and finally moved from his post to point his body towards the chest that concealed the hidden white disguise Jungkook went on about. "Out of all the other classes, you chose to disguise yourself as a commoner. You better hope you do not make me regret this again! You are still a young king and you still need to learn when you can't do something for your own sake. I'll be sure to watch over you from afar. Remember, you'll be alone but that doesn't give you the opportunity to speak with just anyone," the Guard gave out strict rules to the young man even if Jungkook was king. Just as Yoongi picked up the disguise, his chocolate brown, sweet, and charming eyes just glared at the white apparel for a second before pulling it back from the King's direction. "Or you could just be as yourself and go with your guards, servants, oh- you can also be carried there in your royal palanquin!"

"Hand me the disguise," Jungkook demanded. Yoongi hesitated as he carried the disguise with his pale gloved hands clutching onto it dearly. As a guard, Yoongi was troubled and worried that he had to follow the King around on his adventures. The king was very optimistic about going around so freely disguised as the lowest class so no one could tell that he was the king himself. On the other hand, Min Yoongi feared many possibilities but hid it underneath a plain and mysterious gaze. As a guard, he made sure he was trained to show no fear, but the king knew him too well.

The king accepted the white commoner outfit that looked way different than the rich and bright silk ones the upper classes would wear. "Yoongi, you don't know how happy you just made me feel! I needed a visit to the silent river and now, I get to have this time to myself. My advisors won't have anything to say if you tell them that I am taking a safe trip with my guards... Or maybe you can tell them I'm resting and should be left unbothered. Take my meals in but do not let anyone find out."

"As long as you're fine by it, fear won't weigh my shoulders down for today. Let me mention this to the other guard and we can go to the Silent River togeth-" just then, Yoongi's words were cut short as soon as the king raised his hand and shook his head.

"I am to go alone. No guards and no servants," concluded the young king as he carried the folded clothes and began to change right on the spot. Normally, Jungkook was used to being dressed by his servants, but when it came to his disguise, he knew how to clothe himself to keep this double life of his, a secret.

There was a risk being taken by the king; longing to be alone at the river with no one watching over him. Yoongi expected this from the young alpha, so he stood there in silence; holding his breath and thinking to himself, silently trying to clear his mind of all the possible things that could go wrong but for once, the alpha that was sworn to protect the king, finally accepted whichever his fate guided him towards.

The guard was then silent while his back covered in his usual dark blue sleeveless vest over his white upper coat, faced the king as Jungkook changed into the lower class disguise. The white cotton hanbok hugged the alpha's skin like a glove. As soon as Jungkook placed the disguise on, he closed off the look with a bamboo hat (paerangi hat) over his long, silk, black hair and straw shoes commonly used by servants or commoners.

Min Yoongi directed Jungkook out of the palace safely and advised his king that he would stand in front of his room to avoid letting any servants in. The guard also took it upon himself to then return to the same spot when the sun would begin to set. Yoongi was clear on his instructions and had every doubt weighing him down to have the king safely stand by his side. But at the very end, Yoongi had to let him go. Jungkook was king after all, but a very spoiled one at best.

The young alpha managed to escape and fled the palace with a smile on his face. He carried only a few jars of paint, paintbrushes rolled into a mat, and extra parchment paper. Jungkook made his way through the town where he caught many scents of alphas and omegas roaming around. Some in white commoner hanboks while others in bright, upper-class, hanboks. The town was beautiful and Jungkook was at awe of his people not finding out who he truly was. The idea of being discreet, left the alpha smiling to himself.

Eventually, Jungkook arrived at the river and set his things down after carrying it so far. The scenery was beautiful in his eyes; the sunlight beamed over the crisp and cold river that held many little schools of fish, dragonflies swarmed the edges of the river while green grass grew all around it. Jungkook inhaled the rich air of the early morning and began to set up his black paint just to capture what he observed. It was moments like these where the king wasn't just a powerful alpha, but a young man named Jeon Jungkook who wanted to feel peace throughout the stress he walked through daily.

Soft brush strokes glided against the parchment as he tilted his head to the side to observe the scenery much longer. Silence filled his ears as he only felt the wind brushing his silk hair underneath the conical hat he just couldn't leave his palace without. Just before Jungkook could even finish his painting for the day, it took about two hours of pure silence until it was ruined.

Jungkook suddenly caught the sound of grass getting crushed underneath quick steps that seemed to get louder and louder... the king froze and glanced down within seconds as the swift steps came to a stop as soon as he froze. Their movements were synced as if they both realized they were not alone.

"Hey!" Called out a soft voice that sounded like a harp strumming right by the alpha's ear. However, Jungkook was still afraid to turn and see who was calling out to him. "What are you, deaf?" Continued the anonymous person until Jungkook inhaled and caught on a peculiar scent of an omega. However, this scent seemed different to him, it was sweet and different than any other. It was the type of scent that Jungkook just couldn't stop inhaling for even more than a second.

Jungkook took a glance back at the omega that stood still, awaiting his response. Suddenly, Jungkook met eyes with a young man who was dressed in the finest silk hanbok, styled in a bright lavender color, with just a teal color of the cloth strings hugging above his upper garment. His skin was as pale as the parchment Jungkook painted on, his hair was as black as the tip of the paintbrush dipped in paint; tied into a braid with flower brooches and a red ribbon attached to the end of his braid, his plump lips were as pink as the cherry blossom trees. Jungkook was speechless at the sight of this omega as his eyes danced along the stunning features of his plump lips and flower boy looks that seemed to make all the alpha's turn their heads in attention.

Staring at the alpha in return made the young omega smirk and twirl the bamboo stick attached to his red oil-paper umbrella. Something in him just knew that he left the alpha in silence with his true beauty that could make the angels sing. "Paint me a swan," demanded the omega. As it seemed that the omega had a demanding request, Jungkook just couldn't help but to remain staring and pondering this omega's ethereal beauty right before his very own eyes.
