Chapter 46

When she saw the Princess of Mordis lean over Gauri immediately stood up as Omkara quickly grabs Priyanka's arm to prevent her from falling towards the hard floor.

"PRI!"

Everyone at the dinner table was in shock to see Priyanka resting against her brother's chest trying to stay awake.

"Bro...Brother...I don't feel so well."

Her weak voice made him nervous and so he looked towards Gauri who quickly went to Priyanka's side but the moment she squatted down to take the Princess's pulse she was kicked away.

"Priyanka!" yelled Omkara.

"Bro...Brother....after taking that tonic I have felt funny. Don't...Don't let her touch me."

"Tonic?" Omkara coldly repeated.

When Priyanka's maid heard her Princess's words her eyes widen in shock but unfortunately Priyanka couldn't see because if she had she would have known something was wrong. Instead Priyanka could feel her brother's anger and couldn't be any happier.

Bhavya who was standing beside Rudra couldn't hold her anger any longer. Hows could she just let them accuse her Princess like this?!

"Princess Gauri would never do this! The General also....AH!"

The sudden grip on her arm was so painful Bhavya wanted to push Rudra's fingers off of her.

"Be quiet!" commanded Rudra.

"No...AH!"

Gauri could see that her maid was angry on her behalf and that made her smile inside because truly she was alone here in Mordis.

"It's okay Bhavya." Gauri assured.

No longer squatting  down Gauri was now standing up with her back straightened while Omkara's facial expression had become dark.

"Ranveer. Escort Lady Gauri back to her chambers. General do return to your room to rest."

The room had become chilly and the only source of warmth was the flickering of the candles that was on the dinner table. Gauri did not say a single word as she left the room leaving Omkara and his sister alone.

Letting his sister lean back on her chair Omkara's gaze were filled with anger.

"Tell.... me.... again...."

Priyanka did not know why her brother was looking at her so angrily but she figured he wanted more details on what had happened to her.

"I..I was feeling okay before I drank that tonic brother. After I drank it my heart was beating very fast and then suddenly everything became hazy."

Omkara suddenly pushed a glass of water towards his beloved sister who was still acting weak and tired.

"Here. Drink this."

"I'm not thirsty brother. I just need rest."

"Not thirsty? Or are you afraid this brother of yours will poison you!"

The sudden thud on the table frazzled her as the sounds of broken glasses and dishes fell to the floor.

"Brother?!"

His eyes dark as night and his voice cold as winter sent shivers down her spine.

"Now you think you can fool me Priyanka?! The eyes of this King sees all! When did you become this manipulative to your own brother!"

"I..I..." Priyanka stuttered in fear.

"If I did not send everyone away then you would have been humiliated! No! Mordis would have been humiliated!" roared Omkara.

"I...your brother....King of Mordis made you that tonic. Now tell me again....do you think there was poison in the tonic?....."

Her brother's tone was cold and distant which Priyanka had never seen directed at her before and now she was speechless.

"The...the ingredients was not of Mordis....brother."

Gritting his teeth as he sees his sister's relentless effort to accuse Gauri made him break the dining table.

"Priyanka!"

She was now shrinking in her chair as her brother stood there glaring at her with such intense anger.

"You are not the only one that had drank the tonic Priyanka! You still try to fool me! Do you not put me in your eyes?! Have I doted on you so much that you think you can use me?!"

"I....I....I...."

Her tears started to fall uncontrollably as she realize the moment she openly accused Gauri she had hurt her own brother.

But then she felt a warm hand stroke her head and as she lift up her head she saw her brother look down at her.

"Do not cry Priyanka." sighed Omkara.

"I'm sorry brother. I just feel so angry at that woman that I...."

"Priyanka. You trust me don't you?"

Nodding her head really fast to show her brother that she would never doubt him Priyanka tried her best to apologize some more.

"I'm sorry."

"Why do you hate her so much? Is it because of what happened in Ashen?"

"Of course!" yelled Priyanka.

"I would have done the same. You would have done the same."

Priyanka looked up at her brother with confusion.

"If someone had you by the throat I would have done whatever it took to save you. She loves her brother like I love you. But unlike her I would not bother pretending and yet she injured herself to fool me into thinking that she had harmed you. Do you understand Priyanka? "

"Why would she do that?" asked Priyanka suspiciously.

Heaving a long sigh at how his sister was unable to look at the big picture Omkara continued to explain.

"She was a Princess of Ashen. Her care for her brother and her people is unshakable. That is the kind of woman I want for Mordis and for me. There is nothing she wouldn't do for the ones that matter to her Priyanka."

"Brother! Are you saying you want her to be Queen of Mordis?!"

"She will be Queen of Mordis!"

The way her brother stood and glared at her Priyanka knew that this was something that no one or anything can prevent.

"Priyanka. Rest for tonight and think of my words. If you were in her shoes would you not have done the same for me? Come. I will walk you back to your chambers."

As the two walked through the dark halls of the Palace Omkara heard his sister's solemn voice.

"I will reflect brother. Give me some time. I'm just worried that she will be your downfall but if you love her I will try to accept it."

Patting his sister's head Omkara had a warm smile as Priyanka was showing signs of regret.

"Trust me Priyanka. Your brother is lucky enough to even meet a woman like her in this lifetime."

When Gauri finally reached her room many thoughts were running through her mind as she walked towards her balcony. As she opens the double doors she could see how beautiful Mordis was even in the cold night. The moon was bright as it casted down its light on the high mountains of Mordis.

Breathing the cold air Gauri could not help but feel alone but then her gaze shifted towards the forest.

"Nala....."

Looking down towards the ground Gauri could see plenty of horses below.

The dress that she had on was too inconvenient for what she wanted to do so Gauri quickly changed into something more comfortable. With a black dress and a big black fur cloak Gauri swiftly jumped down the balcony and landed right on top of a strong black stallion.

As the horse kicked up it's front legs do to the sudden impact Gauri rushed to brush her fingers along it's soft mane.

"Shhhh....it's okay....shhhhh.....we are just going on a little trip."

Normally jumping from that height onto a horse would be easy but with her injuries Gauri felt a sharp sting throughout her back as she let out a soft cry. With the intense pain Gauri felt that her decision to make a trip to Mordis's forest was a good one.

Using her heels to kick the horse lightly Gauri disappeared into the cold night.

Bhavya was so angry when she returned to the General's room that she was pacing back and forth while Rudra sat on the edge of his bed watching her.

"You can stop now. My head is starting to spin watching you."

Snapping her head back Rudra could see that the feisty maid was truly angry.

"Why did you stop me! You drank it too and there is nothing wrong with you! How could you just sit there?!" Bhavya angrily complained.

"You would only be courting trouble if you...a little maid tried to intervene. Do you think my King did not realize such a small matter?"

Grumbling under her breath Bhavya wanted to leave to check on her Princess but the minute her foot moved towards the door she heard his deep commanding voice that felt like it would shake the entire room.

"Just because I have been lenient on you does not mean you can do as you please. Take another step if you dare."

As her feet stood in place Bhavya could only tightly grip the sides of her dress in defeat.

"Your Princess is not so weak that she needs you to save her. Tomorrow you will have a chance to say your goodbyes."

When she quickly turned around Rudra could see the shock in her eyes hearing his words.

"Goodbye? Why?"

"We will go to the Northern Border."

Bhavya was left speechless but when she was about to ask more questions Rudra had already laid down with his eyes close.

"Sleep. You are going to need it."

Fray

It was always cold on this high mountain especially at night but Kalyani would always remember to come here to visit her daughter. Running her now wrinkled fingers along the ice tomb that held her beloved daughter Kalyani's eyes started to slightly tremble. As she swiped away the frost hiding her daughter's face Kalyani's voice started to break.

"Luckily your daughter fought to have your body sent to Fray. If not we might not even have a chance Jhanvi. But as tradition I will not tell her anything until she is willing to take the pill herself. If we can't meet again then I will see you when my days on this world is over."

The coffin was made out of frozen ice and being surrounded by the energy within the mountain Jhanvi's entire body was preserved. If one would look inside you would think that the woman was just sleeping peacefully.

"Soon..your daughter will be here. I will let destiny decide all of our fates."

After leaving Priyanka Omkara briskly headed towards Gauri's sleeping chambers but when he opened the door to an empty room his entire body stiffened.

"Gauri?"

He noticed the double doors towards the balcony was slightly opened so his steps quickened only to see that it too was empty.

With the cold wind now blowing fiercely Omkara knew Gauri couldn't be far away.

"Ari!"

A sudden gust of wind torpedoed towards him from up above but Omkara did not flinch as Ari appeared before his eyes.

Taking the dress that Gauri had worn earlier Omkara held it towards Ari's nostrils.

"Find her."

When he saw Ari's head looked towards the forest Omkara did not waste anytime as he jumped on Ari's back.

"Go!"

Hooking up his lips with a devilish charm Omkara's eyes was already scouring the forest below. "Leaving without a word? How heartless...my Queen."

Lord Tej's Manor

After returning from Ashen Tej was now busy thinking of ways to capture that physician beside Rudra.

Daksh: Father I don't think I can live like this! Getting tortured every 4 days!! Please! We need to get our hands on her!

Tej: Idiot! You think it's easy?!

Daksh: Then what are we to do?! I'm tired of waiting!

Tej: First I will enter the Palace tomorrow morning to see how things are. I will get my hands on her! We will wait till she's alone! We can't have them look to us when she goes missing. I will set up a plan once I know what is going on in the Palace.

Daksh: How about I just go and ask her. If I ask her I'm sure she will tell us.

"Ask her?!" shouted Tej.

"She hates you right now! You think she will even let you near her?! You are lucky that she had a hand in it. If not she would have told Omkara everything!"

Daksh had a sly grin on his face as he thought about Priyanka.

"Even if she hates me there's no denying she has me in her heart father. I can still...."

"No. We will save her for later. It's not time to use that card yet."

Tej evilly grins : In one month things will be turned upside down here in Mordis.
