Part 45

After they were done with the dinner they headed out of the restaurant where a man suddenly approached Arnav, Arnav said something to him and then handed him his car keys and then walked back towards Khushi.

"How about we walk for a while? The driver will follow us with the car." Arnav looked at her hopefully.

"I don't mind, but I'm wearing heels." Khushi said lifting her leg up to show her heels to which Arnav just smiled.

"It's okay done worry, I think I've got a pair of slippers in the car." Arnav said.

"Do you always have a pair of slippers in the car?"

"Yeah, this one time I bought some new shoes and my legs got hurt pretty bad, I had to walk bare feet so since then I always keep a pair of slippers in my car just in case." He said.

"I see, I never knew that." Khushi giggled.

"Yeah, we were married but there's a lot we still don't know about each other."

"That's why the dates, we get to know each other in a way we never did before." Khushi smiled.

The driver started following them with the car so Arnav stopped him and got the slippers, of course they were a bit big on Khushi but they were way more comfortable than heels, he put her heels in the car as they both continued walking on the road, it wasn't really empty but there were a few people.

"Can I hold your hand?" Arnav asked out of nowhere.

Khushi looked at him in surprise for a moment and then nodded slightly, he immediately held her hand into his and continued walking.

"I know you like such cute romantic things that's why." He smiled making her blush once again, she never thought that her equation with him could ever get back to normal, but it was just the first date and she was already liking everything about it.

"So you called the driver only so we could walk together?" Khushi asked.

"The things we do for love." Arnav laughed.

They walked silently for a while, it was like one moment everything seemed normal between them and then the next moment it was all awkward.

"Why are you silent now?" Arnav asked.

"Just... I don't have much to say..."

"Okay... let me ask you something if you don't mind. How did you think of starting your business? I mean what made you get into fashion design and not anything else?" Arnav asked.

"It was actually Rohan's idea and he helped a lot."

"I see, it's good that you started something on your own, it's always good to start a business." Arnav smiled.

"Yeah, I remember once you told me that I was married to you because you were rich and a part of me just wanted to prove to you that I can be rich on my own." Khushi sighed.

"I am sorry for the things I did and said in the past. Your mother always told me how important money was to her, I remember asking her why she was with my father and she told me it was for money...

And me thinking that you were into the same things as her, I just thought that was it... I am really sorry Khushi." Arnav apologized sincerely.

"Looks like you're going to keep apologizing every now and then for something that happened in the past."

"Only if I could change it, I would."

"Anyway, let's not ruin the present while talking about the past. Tell me, how's your work going?" Khushi asked.

"It's okay, I've occurred a lot of losses since Anjali passed away, for a long time I haven't been to work, I haven't gone through anything.

After the Goa trip I decided it was time to get serious so I went back and realized how everything was messed up, so I'm just trying to handle it all."

"Don't worry, I'm sure everything will be back on track soon." She assured him, he nodded and then they continued walking in silence once again.

"I think we should get in the car now, it's pretty let. Come I'll drop you home." Arnav said to Khushi after like ten minutes of walking. Khushi nodded so Arnav raised his hand and waved towards the driver who was slowly following them with the car, he stopped the car beside them and they both got inside.

"We're taking Khushi home first then we're heading back to Raizada mansion." Arnav said to the driver who nodded and started driving immediately.

"I had such a great time today." He said to Khushi.

"So did I." She smiled.

"So... do you think you would like to go on another date with me? Maybe a few days later?"

"Sure, I wouldn't mind it." She smiled making him smile too, it was always very rare to see Arnav smile but when he did, it was beautiful.

After a short drive, they arrived at Khushi's apartments, the driver parked the car in the parking lot as Arnav stepped out and held the door open for her.

"Come, I'll walk you till the elevator." He said.

"You don't have to."

"It's okay, I want to... now let's get going." He grabbed her hand once again and pulled her along, Khushi just smiled as she looked at both their hands held.

These little cute romantic gestures were what she had expected from Arnav when they got married, but he never cared about either of it, and somehow that had always broken her heart.

Now that it was all happening, that too with the guy she had always loved and expected be this romantic with her, it felt good, she liked finally knowing why it was all so cute.

"So... here we are. Call me?" he said as he stopped beside the elevator.

"Sure." She nodded.

"Okay, I'll see you in a few days, and once again thank you so much for doing this... it means a lot to me and I really loved spending time with you today." Arnav smiled.

"So did I." She smiled back, the elevator door opened so she headed in and waved goodbye at him as it shut and took her upstairs while Arnav headed back to the parking lot.

*****

Khushi lied down on the bed after changing and removing the makeup, she grabbed her phone and found a message from Arnav, she smiled before opening it.

All these small feelings was what she missed when she was married to him, she dint even know what he had texted but she was excited just because he had.

She opened the message and blushed while reading it, she couldn't believe this was the same Arnav she was married to in the past, it was like he was a completely new person now.

"Is it okay if I say I already miss you?" The text read.

She buried her face inside the pillow still blushing, it was like the old Khushi that she had kept hidden somewhere was finally coming out.

The one that got so excited about stupid things, the one that would blush exactly like this about cute things.

When she made the decision to start dating Arnav, she wasn't a hundred percent sure if it was the right decision to make, but just a few days into it and she was feeling so happy, so excited so different.

Right now, she dint care if it was right or wrong, she was happy and that's all that mattered.

"I guess so." She smiled as she typed a text back.

"I can't wait to see you again."

"You literally just saw me." She laughed.

"I know... but it wasn't enough. I have never felt this way before, all these giddy types of feeling inside my heart, I think I am going crazy."

"Yeah according to what I can read, I think you are." She giggled.

"Oh come on..."

"It's late Arnav, you should sleep, we both have work tomorrow."

"Okay, as you say. I'll talk to you tomorrow, have a goodnight, and if possible dream about me."

"Goodnight, sure you can also dream about me." She smiled as she put her phone aside and closed her eyes ready to sleep. Why was all this making her so happy though?
