The girls were all enjoying themselves in Devaki's flat. All of them were sitting on the sofa, half lying on each other, watching 'Mean Girls' at 2 a.m.

Sameeksha was busy on her phone. Bandana nudged her.

"What in the heaven is your issue, woman?!" Sam tore herself away from her phone's screen.

"Um, Mr. Sharma just dropped you off at 9 p.m, not to mention that's literally 3 hours late, and instead of spending time with us you're still busy on the phone with him?" Bandana explained. Sam rolled her eyes.

"We were talking about you anyway." Sam murmured. Bandana's eyes widened.

"Talking 'bout me? What??" Bandana asked desperately.

Sam smirked. "Something." She said.

"Bich, if you don't tell me what it is in the next 2 seconds I'm going to call your mother now and tell her about Abhishek Sharma." Bandana sarcastically smiled. Sam's mouth fell open.

"How dare you?" She threw a pillow at her. Bandana took a cushion beside her and smacked it down Sameeksha's head.

"Ouch!" Sam yelled.

"Guys, shutup! Regina George is going to come!" Sara shushed them.

"I swear. Calm your asses, both of you all." Parul said painting Malavika's toe nails bright pink. Obviously, Malavika was oblivious to that.

"Uh, why are you painting Miss Kerala's toes pink? I thought she hated pink." Devaki asked Parul. Malavika was surprised and quickly glanced at her feet.

Parul hit her forehead. "Devaki, you're so dumb! You shouldn't have said that!"

Everyone laughed.

Himani came out of the bedroom. "Guys, I think something is wrong in the neighbour's flat. Many voices can be heard and it seems to be that two people are having an ugly fight."

Devaki stood up. "Really? By the way, I forgot to tell you guys, Natasha Dalal from our college has shifted in the neighbourhood. But I wonder who'd she be fighting with at this hour?"

"Natasha from Commerce?" Sara asked. Devaki nodded.

"Let's go check it out. Maybe she'd need some help."  Malavika stood up as well.

All 7 girls quietly left Devaki's house and went over to Natasha's. They stood at the door quietly debating whether they should ring the doorbell and ask what's wrong or just stand there and listen. To their surprise, the door was slightly ajar. Without thinking, Parul pulled it open.

Devaki hit Parul's head. "You're the one who is dumb!"

To their advantage, no one was in the hallway. "C'mon guys, lets go in!" Malavika hopped in. Parul looked at Devaki and smirked. She slipped in with Malavika.

Devaki tried to stop them but those two just entered.

"I don't think it's a good idea to enter just like that." Sara said.

"I swear." Sam muttered.

"But those two jokers are already in. We have to get them out!" Bandana pointed out.

"Do you'll really think we should get in? I mean it's like invading Natasha's privacy." Himani whispered.

"Does it look like we have another choice now?" Devaki asked. None of them said anything.

They entered. Inside the hallway, they found Parul and Malavika. Devaki held both of their hands.

"Let's get out of here. It's not right. We shouldn't be here." She started dragging them out.

Suddenly, they heard a loud crash from the bedroom. All of them became alert.

"I'm so sick off this!" They heard Natasha's sobs.

"What else can be done about it, tell me?!" They heard a male's voice. It was distinct but unfamiliar to all of them.

"How could you do this to me?" They again heard Natasha's voice. "You're my boyfriend! You can't leave me just like that at this time!"

"Listen Natasha, BACK OFF!" the male's voice got raised. "My priorities are set straight. You know that." They heard another crash. This time it seemed like something being thrown at the mirror and the shattering of the mirror filled the silence of the house.

The girls got scared. They all rushed towards the bedroom thinking someone would have been injured and barged inside the room.

In the middle of the room stood Natasha and her beau. He was tall, a little darkish complexion, high cheek bones, lean yet well built structure, hair quiffed in the front, dressed in a pair of chinos and white t-shirt; he was exactly like one of those hot boys who starred in deodorant commercials on the television with girls all around him.

"Hey, is everything alright? We heard many noises and shattering of glasses. Is anyone injured?" Devaki asked worriedly. Natasha looked extremely surprised by the sudden barging in of the girls. Finally, she took a deep breath and addressed them.

"Ah, Devaki...Uh, well, everything's fine, my boyfriend and I just, uh, got into the middle of a heated argument. That's it. Thanks for coming though. I appreciate the sentiments." Natasha stammered. Then she looked at everyone else. "Thankyou all too."

"Are you sure, you're gonna be fine by yourself?" Bandana asked curiously eyeing the young gentleman in the room. Something about the boy seemed very odd to all of them. He just stood there, unfazed by their presence, waiting patiently for them to get out so that he could again continue with his argument.

"Yes, I'll be fine. Thankyou." Natasha smiled briefly. Her smile was warm and welcoming. Despite the situation being bad, she was trying not to be rude to them.

Devaki caught a sudden movement outside the window. However, she chose to not point it out thinking she must have imagined it. Besides, the situation would have become more awkward.

"Uh, okay then, take care."  Sara said. Natasha gave another warm smile. All of them turned to leave. Devaki looked back at Natasha before leaving and caught a glimpse of Natasha looking very tensed. However, as soon as Natasha saw Devaki looking at her, she removed the frown on her face and silently waved a 'bye' at her with a short and forced smile.

Everyone came back to Devaki's living room and plunged down on the sofa. Parul got back to painting Malavika's toenails. This time she used black nail polish.

"Now that was weird." Sam said.

"I know right? Her boyfriend was so weird! I don't think anyone knows him. He's not from our college at least." Malavika said scrolling through the latest 'Vogue' magazine as Parul painted her nails.

"Something about him was very odd." Sara pointed out. Devaki became a little tensed and remembered what she had seen. She decided not to talk about it. Their night was being spoilt.

"Listen guys, forget it. It's their personal matter. Who are we to interfere? Let's continue with mean girls." Devaki said and resumed the movie. An hour into the movie all of them were dozing off.

Just as the clock struck, 3:10 a.m., the fire alarms of the building went off.
