The Highest of Seas Part 9
Author's Note: Almost home free. Grian and co are almost home free. I'm working on the next part, but the newest bit of NOtPY has some plot importance to this story. This is the part you get until I submit that part (it may end up either tonight or tomorrow that I submit it).

Grian's POV:
I walked in between TFC and Wels. My only real guessing is that I'm in the middle with Joe and Impulse is our history with being hurt. I looked back at Doc as he tiredly looked around. The croc-pig was in deep thought as he pushed from the leaves of the dense jungle.
Our little group walked through the jungle. The exotic birds squawked and flew away from us as we cut a path through the jungle's brush. We were lucky that the dirt below us wasn't muddy, and Impulse spotted the areas that could be quicksand.
We walked for what felt like hours until the jungle opened up. A small village that had decent sized buildings. It was a bit more advanced than the port town, but that was because of what seemed to be an observatory on the hill.
Impulse looked at his map, " According to Tango, the main person to talk to lives in that observatory." he pointed with his free hand. Python looked up at the building, " So, how are people going to react if a giant man-sized snake and crocodile appear?" he questioned as he scratched at his muzzle.
Doc looked at him, " If the people in town were fine with you and me, I'm sure they will be as well." he told him. Python nodded slightly, " As much as that makes sense, these people are secluded from the rest of the island." he frowned at him.
TFC looked at the two hybrids, " I suggest that you two should hang in the back. That leaves people from freakin' out if they see ya'll." he told the two. The two hybrids nodded and stepped behind Joe and me.
We continued to walk down the path. I looked at the houses and buildings. My skin crawled as I saw a shadow swiftly ran by the back of the houses. I grabbed onto Joe's arm and stared at where I saw the shadow.
" What's troublin' you Grian?" Joe questioned as I looked at him. I told him what I saw, and he frowned, " It was probably an animal." he told me with a reassuring look. I nodded at him. Just an animal? No, the shadow was the size of a person. I know that people live here, but why would they be spying on us?
I shook my head and let go of Joe's hand. My whole body was shaking from flight or fight as we walked up the hill. We're almost home. I kept telling myself. We're almost home. Mumbo and Iskall must be a nervous wreck right now. I hope X can calm Iskall down enough, so he can help calm Mumbo.
My shoulders were stiff as we got closer to the observatory. I raised my eyebrow, " Why are the lights off?" I questioned as we stood in front of the building. We looked at each other as TFC stiffened his shoulders and stood tall. He was one of the taller hermits, but he slouched so much that you couldn't tell.
" Stay behind me kids." TFC ordered as the rest of us nodded. TFC opened the door, and we all dodged a crossbow bolt that nearly took out all of us. Doc took out his crossbow while Python held up his claws. The two hybrids snarled and charged in on all fours. We heard screaming, so the rest of us ran inside.
Python was staring down and hissing at a man that looked like Zee. Next to Zee, the Mini of that world started to protect Zee while growling at Python. I took a step forward, " Why did you fire the bolt at us?" I questioned as Zee looked at me. The man's eyes widened, " Is this your new gang, Grian? You left us for these guys?" he questioned with a frown.
I frowned as I put my hand over my sling, " I'm not the Grian from your world." I told him. Zee was forced to stand up by Python, " What the hell are you talking about?" Zee questioned as Python dug his claws into Zee's shoulder and hissed.
" Myself and the others are from an another world... We can trapped here when a portal malfunctioned." I told him with a sad look. Zee looked at Mini and the rest of us. The lab coat wearing man furrowed his eyebrows, " That....." his shoulders lowered, " Actually makes sense." he soon apologized for swearing at us.
Mini snorted, " Do you actually believe these scumbags?!" he growled as he stared at us. The AU Evolutionist snorted, " You guys could very well be tricking up, so we can give us on our tech!" he shouted at the top of his lungs.
Mini looked at me, " and you.... Do you release what you did to us? Bringing us together only to band with those idiots! I should just snap you n- AUGH!" Doc bit deeply into Mini's shoulder. The man screamed as Doc let go and put a rope against his bearded mouth.
Zee shook his head, " Sorry about Mini... He's... I'm just.... sorry." he sighed. The two looked at each other. Mini's eyes were bloodshot as he let out a series of muffled screams. Zee looked at Doc, " Can you at least bandage him up? I'll help you guys get home if you do." he smiled awkwardly as Doc nodded.
" Do you promise to not run away from us?" Joe questioned as he briefly leaned down in front of Zee. The mustached man nodded. The two of us looked at Python as the snake begrudgingly untied Zee.
Zee looked at us and immediately booked it towards the door. Impulse rammed into him knocked him to the ground. Zee shrugged and let out a small laugh, " It can't hurt to try.... Now can it?" he smirked as Impulse picked him up.
Python tied the rope around Zee's waist and wrists. Zee sighed as he was led over to a set of mechanisms.
Zee was just about to work, but a laugh came from behind us. Our group, excluding Python and Doc, turned around. A gasp left my throat as I stared at the woman herself.
Captain Cleo and the band of Wattpadders.
