The Highest of Seas Part 7

Author's Note: The mainland. A boomtown of innovation. Will it hold the secrets that the group needs to escape? Well, we need to catch up on NOtPY's plot before we get to this group getting its answer.

School starts on the 7th, and I'm not ready.

 Doc's POV:

The mainland. According to the captain, it was a boomtown of trade and innovation. This was where we could possibly find a way home.

 How?

I wish I knew the answer.

When Ren, myself, and the Architechs were stuck in that swap universe, we knew that we could get home because they were so much like us. This world where the technology isn't that advanced?

I just don't have a clue. I don't have any redstone, and finding it would probably be next to impossible.

I let out a sigh as I looked at the moderate sized buildings that lined the port. Python patted me on the shoulder, " Well, let's go get TFC, Joe, and Grian. We've got a continent to explore." he smirked as his tail twitched.

Impulse and Wels decided to find us a place to stay with the help of the captain while Python and I went below deck. My tail twitched as I went up to TFC. I put my claw onto the older hermit's shoulder and gently shook him. Tin snorted and turned his head in order to look up at me.

" Did we...." TFC yawned, " Did we arrive at the mainland?" he questioned as he put his glasses on tiredly. I nodded at him as he stood up and tiredly shook his head. TFC swayed slightly and grumbled to himself about the boat giving him a headache.

I looked up at Python as he woke Grian and Joe up. Grian got up, but Joe only opened his eyes and yawned. Python scooped the American up and carefully held him in his scaly arms. Joe breathed carefully as he deliriously nuzzled up against the snake's muzzle.

" Warm..... heheheheheheh...." Joe laughed groggily as he fell asleep again. The four of us looked at each other and frowned. I crossed my arms. TFC did a scan of the younger man's head and let out a sigh of relief.

TFC looked at us, " Joe just needs some healing potion, and he should be back to his normal well-written self." he smiled as he ran his hand through Joe's knotted hair. Grian tapped his feet against the wooden planks.

" Impulse should have some potions, but I assume he isn't on the ship currently." Grian frowned as he fixed his glasses. TFC looked through his bag, " I should have the cure to the ailment that Joe suffers from." he looked through his bag and furrowed his eyebrows.

The hermit brought out a tiny sliver of a healing potion. Python gently jostled Joe awake causing him to whimper. Joe looked up at TFC, " Wha...? " he made a confused noise. Joe rapidly blinked and blankly stared at Tinfoil and Python.

Python's tail twitched as he shook Joe again, " Open your mouth hills.... " he told him. Joe shook his head, " Sleep..." he mumbled as his eye twitched. TFC frowned at him and gently opened his mouth and poured the potion into his mouth. Joe yawned after he finished potion, " Sleep?" he mumbled as TFC nodded causing Joe to sleep and drift off to sleep again.

" This potion is slightly different from other potions... It requires him to sleep for roughly thirty minutes before he'll be back on his feet." TFC told us with a nod of his head. Joe slept soundly as he smiled softly in Python's arms.

The five of us walked back onto deck and headed down to the dock. My tail twitched as I led the way. Before we left, the Impulse from his world handed me a map of this world and told us where our Impulse and Wels headed.

Grian decided to walk next to me and keep me company as I figured out the winding roads. TFC and Python were talking behind me about how Python ate some frozen rats and how good they tasted to him. I know that I eat them as well, but I honestly prefer eating cows.

" Hey, Doc, why do you not eat pork anymore?" Grian questioned as he munched on a porkchop. I shuddered slightly, " Well, there was something that happened with my code... X explained that the creeper in me has evolved into a more pig-like existence..." I looked down at my hooved feet and motioned towards them.

Grian frowned, " Oh.... You know, I'm so busy looking up as you that I don't notice that." he awkwardly laughed. I gave him a small chuckle, " I don't blame you." I shrugged as I went back to the map.

According to pirate Impulse, Wels and Impulse went off towards a small 'hotel' that was close to the pier in case Tango needed to get us at any moment. Our little group walked towards the hotel and stopped when captain Tango appeared.

" It seems like Impulse is better at giving directions than he judged himself." Tango mused to himself. The demon cautiously led us inside and to a small room on the highest floor. My tail twitched as Wels and Impulse waved at us.

Impulse frowned at Joe, " He's still not awake?" he motioned towards Joe with a frown. TFC told him that he would be awake soon. Impulse nodded slowly as he leaned back on his bed. Tango looked at each of us, " I'll come each night to check on you all. If Cleo and her group shows up, we fight... Tomorrow you guys can head north and find the weird laboratory of some  old friends of the Grian from my world." he left the room and closed the door.

Python carefully laid Joe down onto the bed. The tired hermit twitched and curled up in his bed. He mumbled obscure things to himself as his leg kicked. TFC kneeled down next to Joe and put the back of his hand on Joe's forehead. The older hermit nodded, " He's not suffering from any side effects." he mumbled under his breath as he stood up.

TFC sat down on the bed next to Impulse. He fixed his glasses as he started to talk to the American about what Impulse and Wels could have seen on the way here. Python decided to join the conversation.

This left myself and Grian to chat. Grian sat down on the other bed and looked at me silently. I looked down at his arm, " Do you need me to change your bandages?" I questioned as Grian nodded. I opened up my inventory and brought out the stuff needed for the bandages and some food.

I gave the food to the others before changing Grian's bandages. The architech looked at me and frowned, " What do we do, Doc?" he mumbled with a frown. I told him how I didn't know. Which was something that I just had to admit now. I'm just happy that none of us were terribly hurt in this world.

The two of us quietly talked to each other as I changed Grian's bandages. The conversation went late into the night as we all drifted off to sleep for the journey to find the Evolutionists of this world and hopefully a way home.
