Chapter-52 The Hatred Curse

"I don't understand," I frowned as I spoke those words.

Maria squeezed my hands as she made me sit next to her on the floor with beds and pillows. Elijah sat next to me with his hand on my back in a protective way. I leaned onto him and put my head on his shoulders enjoying the closeness.

I could feel how tense Elijah is. I guess he is worried about the things she is going to tell.

"Are you kids in for some mind-blowing facts?"

I nodded my head. I hope they aren't mind-blowing in a bad way.

"Katherine, could you give us some privacy?" The moment Maria said those words, Elijah let out a glare at her.

God, it's so funny to watch him behaving like that. All grumpy yet sweet in a dumpling way.

Dumpling. I am going to call him dumpling from now on.

'Mazarine, stop,' I heard a voice call me as I ran through the house.

'Mazarine,' the same voice called me again.

'Nope, catch me if you can,' I laughed as I ran looking back and front.

What the hell just happened?

Did I imagine things or did I see something?

"Mae, you alright?" Elijah whispered in my ears, looking at me with worry.

'Mazarine, stop.'

'Mazarine.'

Who is that person who is calling me by my name?

I sounded happy.

Am I missing something?

"Katherine..." Maria's voice brought me back.

Elijah gave me a questioning look as I shook my head shrugging it off. I might be imagining things since we are in the enchanted forest.

"Katherine?" Maria called again.

After hesitating and looking at the three of us, Katherine left the room.

Maria then enchanted something which I am sure is a spell to make sure no one hears what we speak other than us.

I guess whatever she is about to tell us, she didn't want Katherine to know.

"So," Maria started as we heard a knock. "What?" Maria growled at her granddaughter.

"I am going out to explore the forest," with a smile, and left. But before leaving she gave an odd look at Elijah and his hands at my hips, where he held me close.

Hmm, maybe that's why Elijah doesn't like her. Because she is giving him a strange look. I'll ask her about that later. I think she is just fascinated by mates and stuff, I am sure that there is nothing wrong with her.

"Where do I start?" Maria wondered. "Okay listen to me completely before cutting me off." Both of us nodded our heads.

"There are three deadly curses that can change the laws of the universe. By laws I mean including one's destiny.

· True Love's Curse

· Curse of Agony

· The Hatred Curse

Though these curses aren't known to the majority of the supernaturals, there have been a lot of instances where it has been used in the past. A few hundred decades ago this curse affected so many people that the elders decided to erase the trace of them to protect the supernaturals. That's why you find no data about it.

The problem with these curses is, that no one knows what will happen. The consequences differ from person to person. It all depends on the context you put it on. Unlike the normal curses, when used, both the curser and the cursed person face the consequences.

In your case, so far The Hatred Curse did nothing but a good thing. I mean hear me out before you cut me off.

In general, The Hatred Curse is put on a person by the other one because they hate each other so much and they've been going through a lot of pain while the other is happy. But in your cases, since both of you were already living in hell and had gone through a lot of pain, the curse worked differently.

Worked in a way that never happened before. Since it cannot inflict more misery than what you were going through, it changed your destinies. Don't ask me how, but just know that it saved you both in a way.

I am not allowed to tell you guys everything. But I want you guys to know that there are a lot of problems unsolved waiting for you outside to be solved. Whether you swim out of it successfully or not, you have to work that out.

I know what you are thinking, you think that if I already seen the future then why not tell us. But the future is relative. It will change even if a single thread is not in place. And by saying things, I will only worsen it by making it completely uncertain.

Just know that everything is happening for a reason and keep your eyes wide open. Everything is related. "

Oh. Okay.

Wow.

I have no idea what to infer from that information. She just sprayed all the information on us like watering a plant. And I have no freaking clue on what she meant by problems waiting for us.

"Is there a way to break the curse?" Elijah asked his voice full of worry and concern.

"You want me to be honest?"

He nodded his head.

"No. You have to live with it or the curse will last till one of the party dies."

Shit.

Though she said the curse did us good things, it is a curse and none of us have any idea about the consequences.

What if the curse saved us just to make sure we live a long life of misery?

God, I don't even want to think about it.

As if these problems are not enough, Maria said that we have more unsolved problems that are made especially for us. And God, I don't even want to think about it.

"Is there anything that will help us in the future?" Elijah paused. "Doesn't matter how small it is, just a small thing that will help us in the future?"

Maria let out a small laugh, an apologetic one to be precise. "I am sorry. But always listen to your heart."

I slumped down further into Elijah as I got lost in thoughts of what problems might we face.

Will that problem come in the form of my uncle? Or the thing who called me his bride? Or in between us? Or Casteel?

God, what if something happens because of us?

Teddy said he saw me and Casteel getting hurt. Does that mean we may or may not come out of it?

Is that our end?

I closed my eyes as I tried to imagine the scene Teddy told me about. Suddenly I felt I am being sucked into some void.

"Mae..."

"Mae..."

I heard so many voices but all I can do is walk into that void when I felt a sudden surge of electricity through me bringing me back to reality.

"God, Mae," Elijah hugged me tight as I panted trying to take in some air.

"What just happened?"

"You just dream walked into one of the lone spirits' minds. God, Mae baby don't do that. You might get sucked into that forever. You'll get stuck in there."

I looked at Maria in confusion.

That is impossible. I cannot dream walk. That is not my power.

"I don't know how I did that. I cannot dream walk."

Maria froze for a second before she spoke. "Some spirits might be playing games with your mind then. That's not good either. Here," she went to the draw beside her and searched for something. She then took a small ring and handed me.

"You have a similar ring." She frowned as she looked at the ring on my index finger. It was the ring Zendaya gave me. It was the ring that will help me reverse the spell that Zendaya put on me to protect my identity.

"Never mind," Maria took my other hand and put the ring on my index finger. "Never take this ring out until you realize it's time."

Here we go, even Maria is saying something cryptic like Zendaya.

"How will I know when?"

"You'll know."

A/N: Okay, I honestly need feedbacks on how the story is going. At this point I feel like I am writing on water.
