The Grimoire User and the Tower Witches
Y/N wished he could stay in bed longer than he did today. He could never understand it, no matter how many times he tried to figure it out. No matter what time he goes to bed on Sundays, he always wakes up feeling sleepy the next day, with his bed and the need of laying down on it and drifting away being the only thing on his mind during his daily routine. It was probably caused by him sleeping longer on the weekend than he does on the work days and his body getting used to sleeping this long because of that.
The rest of his morning routine went as it did every morning, with Guthrum being one of the first things in he spotted after opening his eyes, like it happened each morning after Y/N agreed to become Guthrum's user. The two of them had a few conversations when Y/N was preparing himself for his day, maybe except when Y/N was in the bathroom, because he didn't watch to have Guthrum watch him take care of his private needs for all the obvious reasons.
After taking care of everything he had to do in the bathroom, he got himself dressed up in his school uniform and went into his kitchen with the intention of preparing himself something to eat for the lunch break. The lunch that he had prepared for himself wasn't anything extraodinary. Just a few sandwiches with the ingredients he liked and the ones he found in his fridge.
"Did you make sure you packed everything you need for today?" Grimoire Guthrum asked as he and Y/N were now in front of the exit from the L/N household, his user slouching his backpack over his back.
"Yes. I checked it when I was taking my backpack from my room." Y/N responded with a nod of his head, before asking Guthrum a question of his own, "Do you remember how to do all the stuff related to the TV or should I show you how it works again?"
"You again with this question again? We don't have to go through each morning when you have to leave to your school." Grimoire Guthrum replied, a hint of irritation in his voice, "I'm not an incompetent foolish book who needs a few repetitions of how something works to know how to use it. I understood how this device the first time you explained to me how it works."
"Alright." Y/N shrugged his shoulders in response, "Just making sure."
"I can assure you that there is no need of repeating it to me everytime when you leave for school." Grimoire Guthrum assured his user that there was no need of doing such a thing every morning.
"Okay. I'll make sure to keep it in mind for tommorow, then." Y/N nodded his head in understanding, "Make sure to let me know what you think about the show you're going to watch today. We can share our thoughs on it after I will return from school."
"We can do it when we will be on the way to your training grounds later this day." Grimoire Guthrum told him, "We will not speak of it on your training because you will have to focus on our lessons. You still need to do some training session of ours if you want to master Dark Blast and if you want to start learning Dark Hand."
"Understootd." Y/N voiced his understanding of Grimoire Guthrum's words, rubbing the back of his head, "I was actually to hear this kind of answer from you because we always talk about things when we are on the way to our training grounds. At least I won't have to interrupt us every five seconds anymore for you know what."
"Glad to hear that we understand each other." Grimoire Guthrum answered, "Have a decent day in school, lad. Don't get yourself into trouble. Your improvement may not be so bad so far but you still are far from ready from being able to go against an opponent without my aid without being at disadvantage."
"I will definitely do my best to keep myself out of trouble. See you later, Guthrum." Y/N gave Guthrum a small wave of his hand as offered his goodbyes to the floating book as Guthrum hummed in acknowledgement.
He turned away from Grimoire Guthrum and walked out of his house. He used his keys to lock the doors before putting them in the left pocket of his pants. He was about to push himself into a walk but stopped himself when he was about to take the first step because it was when an idea popped into his mind. With him not having to stay hidden anymore, he could use his broom to get to school.
He had never flown on it to his school and could try it now, plus he wouldn't have to sit in a crowded bus filled with Ayaka's fans who always forget that there are other people in the bus whenever their idol was in the same vehicle as they. It didn't usually annoy him, because he always disconnected himself from it by using his earbuds, but there still were times when it annoyed him and one of those times was when one of his fellow students bumped into him, completely ignoring his presence.
It was exactly what he did. His robe appeared over his school uniform as he summoned his broom. He put the broom between his legs and took off in the air. He flied out of the area of his house and began flying in the direction of his school. He spotted some familiar figures walking below him on the sidewalk as soon as he left the area of his house. He saw Ayaka, Honoka and Kasumi walking together towards the bus stop as Tanpopo was flying above them on her broom, wearing her robe.
Not seeing the point of returning to the ground just to say good morning to them, he continued to fly forward himself, eventually catching up to Tanpopo as he did so. He shifted his gaze from the area ahead of him to her as she seemed to notice his presence next to her at the same time.
"Morning." He offered her a quick greeting and turned to look ahead of himself again, not really excepting to hear anything in return as they didn't really interact with each other.
Tanpopo titled her head to him, slightly suprised by his greeting and by his presence, but decided to offer him a quick greeting in return, "Morning. What are you doing here?" She gestured below them, where Honoka, Ayaka and Kasumi were walking, "I thought you will be walking with them."
"I have never flown to school on my broom before and I wanted to try it out." Y/N explained to her why he was using his broom to get to school today as he glanced down at the people walking below him and Tanpopo, "Plus, I don't want to get in between them."
Tanpopo glanced down and saw the scene that Y/N was referring to. She instantly understood why he choose to fly on his broom today. Ayaka, Honoka and Kasumi walked together, with Honoka walking in the middle. Kasumi was clutching into Honoka's arm, growling angrily like a feral animal at Ayaka with a glare that would lit up an entire forest. Thankfully, before the scene could escalate further, Kasumi's friend came over to them and Kasumi let go off of her brother the moment she heard her friend call out her name.
She shifted her gaze from them back to Y/N and offered him a nod of her head to show her understanding of his reason to why he decided to fly to school on his broom. The two of them glanced ahead and proceeded to make their way to school, side by side.
The rest of the road to school went in utter silence. The two of them didn't exchange more words with each other for their entire journey to school.
-----
Y/N twisted his hand to the side and his broom appeared right in his grasp. The school day had come to an end and nothing interesting happened in school today. It was just a regular day of school where students take care of the usual business they have to take care of in school. The only thing worth mentioning about it was the news of Honoka getting re-elected for the president of the student council.
He didn't react much to this information because he didn't pay much attention to whoever was leading the student council. There was one thing he had to admit, though. Honoka's expression on the stage back during a school assembly when Ayaka announced him to be the new president of the student council, firing the old one in the process almost made him laugh as his neighbour looked like something had died within him in that moment.
He took off in the air, beginning to make his way back home. He was forced to stop himself in the air a few moments later as he heard how something large slided across the ground in the distance and it was followed by a loud screech, Y/N immediately realizing that it didn't belong to a human or a kemomimi.
Y/N, after shaking off the loud screech that he had just heard, looked in the direction of the noises, "...What the hell?"
He quickly changed directions and instead of making his way to his home, proceeded to make his way in the direction of the strange noises, wanting to know the cause of them. It didn't took him long to find the source of the noise. He noticed a rolled over bus standing in the middle of the road and from the lack of people gathered around it, Y/N quickly realized someone capable of doing magic was responsible for it. After such a thing happening, the crowd of onlookers would surely gather around the vehicle. Not to mentioned, the bus didn't have any people, even the driver, inside it.
It wasn't long, a few seconds to be exact, before he spotted the people responsible for this bus crashing. He saw Tanpopo's friends. The cat eared girl was nowhere to be seen, though. They weren't the only ones gathered around the bus, though. He immediately spotted Honoka and Ayaka and needless to say, they weren't in the best situation right now.
His neighbours were surrounded by Tanpopo's friends. The one with an eyepatch and a cute puppy around her neck moved a small thingy, Y/N had no idea how to call it, around and some kind of black slime came out of her. The slime formed a square around Ayaka and shot out upwards as if it was trying to keep her from leaving the square. The slime formed a prison around Ayaka, not allowing her to leave it and strike back.
The situation wasn't any better for Honoka because the one with a large forehead placed her blade against his neck, whispering something to him, but Y/N couldn't understand it for all the obvious reasons. The one with twintails who always had a deadpanned expression on her face stopped in front of Honoka and the one with a large forehead and reached out her hand behind, most likely intending to grab the large book on her back. Y/N found the source of the screech once he shifted his gaze to the last member of their group.
The only thing he could say about the last girl from their group was the fact that she was really quiet. He could barely hear her name back when she and her friends were introducing themselves to his and his classmates. He wasn't paying his attention to her, though. His eyes were set on the thing she was standing on top of, her scythe planted into the skull of the said thing. This being being a massive dinosaur. He had to blink a few times to make sure his eyes weren't playing tricks on him. It wasn't. An actual walking dinosaur was standing on the road. It didn't have any skin or scales, it only had bones, but it was still an actual walking dinosaur.
He was brought himself out of his thoughts regarding this dinosaur when another thought flew through his mind. It was when he started to wonder what he should do in this situation.
Should he step in or should he step away and let the more experienced magic users take care of this?
A thought of him going over there and helping Honoka and Ayaka in taking care of it quickly crossed his mind, because he knew that he will have to deal with stuff like this in the future and that he needed to get some experience, but the knowledge of him being too inexperienced to go against Tanpopo's friends caused him to have second thoughts about going over there.
It was when the words he had heard from Guthrum before he left for school rang through his ears. He reminded himself of Guthrum telling him that he would be at the disadvantage if he went against another, more experienced, magic user at this early stage of training without his assistance. He tightened his grip around his broom once Guthrum's words from earlier flew through his mind.
Would they even need his help in taking care of them? He saw last week how the Princess handled them by herself without even having to use magic to defend herself and Honoka. Not to mention there were less of them than they were this one time he saw them fight. She will definitely be able to do this again without any problems after she will break free from her prison which will happen sooner or later, right?
He was about to turn away and go back to his previous destination, his home, but stopped himself from doing so after spotting how the twintails grabbed the massive book from her back, holding it in front of her now and opened it. The spellbook began to float above the ground as Y/N wasn't sure if it was doing it on it's own or if the twintails was the one doing it. He watched how the twintails held up a wooden cane and grinned wickedly when her spellbook and her cane began glowing as she readied herself to cast a spell.
It was when the slime prison keeping Ayaka contained and unable to fight back started to go down, the black slime sliding down the road, returning to the Witch that casted it. Ayaka clenched her fists and bowed her head low as she attempted to stand up from the ground but was unable to for some reason, with some black smoke starting to come out of her back. The twintails spell must have been the cause of it.
It was when Y/N paused in his place again as he once again began to ponder what he should do right now. From what he was seeing, the situation on the road was not going to get better. In fact, it was only getting worse with each passing second.
The view of it is why he started to consider if he should come over there to help Honoka and Ayaka again. It wasn't long, a split second to be exact, before he changed his mind and started to make his way down to the place where the Tower Witches were surrounding Honoka and Ayaka. This way he could return the favor to Honoka after he vouched for him after Kazane and the rest found out about him and Grimoire Guthrum. He will worry about Guthrum lecturing how stupid and reckless it was of him to do this at his early stage of training later.
As he proceeded to make his way to the place, he started to wonder about another things. How was he going to do this? He had no idea at the moment. He will have to improvise if he won't come up with anything in the next several seconds.
"Y/N!" A familiar voice rang through his ears as it came from below him.
Y/N immediately recognized this voice as the one belonging to one of the Workshop Witches that recently paid him a visit. He looked down at the source of the voice and saw Natsume standing below him, waving at him with her glowed hand, motioning to him to come down over to her. It was exactly what he did.
"Natsume, right?" He asked her right after landing on the ground, wanting to know if she remember her name correctly.
"Yes." Natsume nodded her head to show him that he remembered her name correctly, "I guess you're heading to help the Princess and Takamiya-kun too?"
Y/N nodded in confirmation, "Yes. I heard the noise from over here when I was going back home and I went over here to check it out and was met with whatever is going on over here. I assume that the same thing happened to you?"
"Yes." Natsume gave him a nod of confirmation in response, "I was on my way back home when I heard the explosion. The civilians were not reacting to it as they should have so I went to check it out because I knew it must have something to do with magic."
"Do you have any plans on how we should handle this?" Y/N asked her another question as soon as he got the answer to his first question, "I didn't really have anything in mind when I came down, because I was hoping to think of something once I will reach the ground I would probably climb onto the bus and do something distract those four to give Honoka and the Princess enough time to strike back."
"Yes." Natsume replied with another nod of her head, "At first I was planning to distract them with something and give Takamiya-kun and the Princess enough time to leave but I think I can think of something else, something more like to work, now that there are the two fo us here. Where is Grimoire Guthrum-sama right now? We could use his help right now."
Y/N put his hand on his chin in thought, trying to figure out what Guthrum was doing right now, "He should be watching Attack on Titan in my home now."
Natsume was slightly taken aback by his answer as she clearly didn't except to hear this kind of answer from him, "Huh?"
"What?" He asked her after seeing her reaction, "He asked me what was popular to watch nowadays after I explained the ways of storytelling people have come up with after he was put to sleep. A lot of people are talking about Attack on Titan nowadays, especially with the first half of season 4 recently coming out right?"
"I think I know what we should to help them." Natsume went back to the topic of their conversation as she knew that she and Y/N had no idea to talk about it, "We can combine our ideas into one. You will climb onto the bus and use Dark Blast as I recall this was the spell you're learning to do now to distract. How well can you do Dark Blast? Will you be able to cast it the moment you will climb onto the bus?"
"I don't know." Y/N gave her a honest answer, "Yesterday, at the start of the training, I managed to cast it right after I pointed my cane at Guthrum, but after that, the closest break between the projectiles that I had was about 5 minutes." A sheepish look formed on his look as he rubbed the back of his head, "If you asked me about this next week, I would probably be more sure of it."
"You don't need to worry if you won't be able to cast it now." Natsume gave him an assuring look, "All you need to do is do something to distract them. I will use your distraction to sneak on them and use a lighter to lit up the gasoline." She pointed at the rolled over bus behind her and Y/N. Y/N looked over his shoulder and saw some gasoline leaking out of the bus, "Don't worry about anything happening after the explosion. Everything will be restored back to the way it was by the end of this day at most."
Y/N nodded his head to show her that he knew what she had in mind, "Okay, I think I know what you mean. The bus will explode and it will surely distract those four and it will give me, Honoka and the Princess enough time to get our brooms and use them leave the scene."
"Exactly." Natsume smiled as she nodded her head at him.
"What will you do once we will leave the scene?" Y/N wanted to know what Natsume was going to do.
"I will buy you some time to get away from them as I have no doubts that they will start to chase you after they will shake off the explosion." Natsume answered, "I'm not good at fighting but I am the best in the Workshop at taking things apart. I will tear apart their brooms once they will go after you. Aftewards I will flee from the scene."
"Alright." Y/N nodded his head in understanding as he turned away from her, "I should get going and do my part in the plan. I don't think we don't have much time to take care of it."
"One more thing, Y/N." Natsume said, making him stop dead in his tracks.
Y/N looked over his shoulder at her, "Yes?"
"Good luck." Natsume told him what she wanted to tell him, offering him a slight smile, "I know this your first time going against other Witches."
Y/N nodded his head at her in response, "Thanks."
He turned away from the glasses wearing girl and pushed himself into walk again, making his way to the scene ahead of him. He walked over to the bus and climbed his way to the top of it. The others didn't spot him because they were too occupied with whatever they were doing right now. He felt how a wave nervousness went through his body the moment he set his gaze on the people in front of him.
He let out a quick deep breath to calm himself down a bit, because he knew that nothing good was going to come out of the nervousness he was feeling right now. He couldn't blame himself for feeling like this, though. Many people who were once in his place definitely felt what he did now. He tightened his grip around his cane, hoping to cast Dark Blast as soon as possible, because he would make an impression of an incompetent fool if he didn't and it would result in him getting easily defeated by them which would ruin the plan he had thought of with Natsume.
He pointed his cane at the one with an eyepatch and closed his eyes, once again asking himself internally to cast Dark Blast as soon as possible. Fortunely things ended up going the way he wanted them to because when he opened his eyes, he saw a red projectile flying towards the eyepatch, everyone else around him being too occupied with their own thing to notice it. The projectile hit the eyepatch in the back, making her stumble a few steps forward.
"Ouch!" She groaned the moment the projectile hit her in her back as she stopped herself from falling down on the ground, "What the hell?" She looked over her shoulder, wanting to know who just hit her with a magic projectile, her friends doing the same.
"Y/N?" Honoka muttered to himself as he looked up at his neighbour in suprise.
"L/N-kun?" The eyepatch leaned her head closer to him the moment she set her gaze on him as if she wanted to make sure if seeing was correctly. She leaned her head backwards once she made sure that Y/N was indeed standing there, "Looks like the rumors regarding you that were going around the Tower Witches in the city were true after all."
"Rumors...?" Y/N began his answer to her words but cut himself off a second later upon spotting something unexcepted on the road below him.
His words died in his throat a brief moment once she set his eyes on Honoka and Ayaka. His attention was mostly focused on Ayaka as his eyes widened in suprise the moment he saw her. He was saw Ayaka, but she was much, much smaller . She looked like a few year old child. He quickly shook off the suprise, knowing that he had no time for it.
"...There have been rumors going on around me?" He finished his response as soon as he shook off the suprise., "What kind of rumors?"
"They started going around Tower Witches in the city after the chairwoman called up a meeting of all of the Workshop Witches in the city." The eyepatch revealed, "Medusa-sama and us heard them as well. They were about the apparent return of Grimoire Guthrum and that his current user is someone who never used magic before becoming his current user."
"I see." Y/N answered as he hopped off the bus and began making his way towards Honoka and Ayaka, wanting to be as near them as possible once Natsume will come here and lit up the gasoline on fire, "The news went beyond the Workshop in this city rather quickly I see. I should have been excepting this to happen, considering for how long Guthrum was thought to be destroyed."
"What are you doing here L/N-kun?" The eyepatch wanted to know, "Are you trying to get yourself caught by us?"
"I came here to fight you." Y/N revealed his intentions to them, knowing that he was making himself look like overconfident person to them, "You see, I joined the Workshop and will have to deal with this kind of thing from now on."
"Do you really think you can go against us?" The eyepatch asked him as she was clearly confident in her and her friends abilities after managing to defeat Ayaka, "We have more experience in this thing than you do and we have the power of a spell that uses a piece of Medusa with us which allowed to to finally defeat the Fire Witch."
"I don't know." Y/N replied, even though he was pretty sure that he didn't have much of a chance against them, "I will find out pretty soon, I guess, but I have to let you know. I have no intention in getting caught."
The eyepatch gave him a confident smile, black slime beginning to circle around her, "Fine. If you want to get our butt kicked by us. You offered yourself to us on a plate."
"Medusa-sama will surely be proud of us when we will bring you to her along with Takamiya-kun." The twintails, stated, a smile growing on her face.
Y/N said nothing in response to her words as he prepared himself to buy Natsume a little more time as the fight between him and the four Tower Witches which was most likely going to end with him losing pretty quickly was just a matter of seconds at this moment. He let out a deep breath to calm himself down a bit and pointed his cane at the eyepatch, trying to make it look as if he was going to cast Dark Blast at her again when he was not sure if would be able to cast it again this quickly.
He felt how relief overcame his entire body once he saw Natsume lean out of the cover behind the bus behind him and the rest, a lighter in her glowed hand. She was completely unnoticed by the Tower Witches because they were too occupied by him. Just like they planned.
"There she is." He whispered to himself, not wanting anyone to hear him say those words as he had to surpass a grin to not blow his cover. Right now, everything was going according to his and Natsume's plan. Now he just had to wait a few seconds for her signal.
It didn't took long for Honoka to notice Natsume too as he whispered to himself, "Is that Natsume?"
Natsume held up a lit up lighter as she used her other hand to point at the gasoline on the road, informing Honoka what she was going to do without saying any words. She shifted her gaze to Y/N, giving him a nod of her head as a way of telling him to get ready to grab Honoka and Ayaka and leave.
"That's our signal!" Y/N told Honoka, making the other boy shift his gaze to him, "Let's go!"
Honoka nodded in understanding as he grabbed Ayaka, him and Y/N turning away from the group of four Tower Witches. They quickly hopped over the nearest fence and begun preparing themselves to leave the area. Y/N twisted his hand and his broom returned to his grasp as Honoka took off Ayaka's robe which was now way too big for her and put it on himself because he had no time to put his robe on himself.
"Kagari-san! I'm borrowing your robe!" He told her when he and Y/N hopped over the fence as soon as he he finished putting her robe on himself. He put his broom between his legs as he and Y/N started flying away from the area.
"Halt!" The eyepatch cried out after them a few seconds later as she and the one with large forehead started to chase them on their brooms as the dinosaur behind them let out a loud roar, it's mistress telling it to chase the fleeing Workshop Witches. She and the large forehead never got the chance to reach their opponents in this case as their brooms fell apart shorty after they took off into the air, the dinosaur behind them falling apart into pieces as well, "Ack! Our brooms fell apart...!"
It was the last thing Y/N, Honoka and Ayaka heard from her before she and the large forehead collided with the ground, the dinosaur behind them falling apart into pieces.
"Okay." Y/N shifted his gaze from the area behind him to the area in front of him after seeing how Natsume made sure that those four won't follow him and Honoka, wanting to know if there was something standing in his way, "This should give us enough time to lose them."
"Right." Honoka smiled slightly as he whispered to himself, remembering something about Natsume as he glanced over his shoulder and saw how he and the others just lost their tail. He glanced to the side as Y/N who was flying next to him and Ayaka, "You planned this with Natsume-san?"
"Yes." Y/N confirmed it with a nod of his head, "I know we could have come up with something better but we had about two minutes to come up with it."
"There wasn't anything wrong with your and Natsume-san's idea. We managed to get away from Crisis-san's friends, thanks to it and more importantly not a single normal citizen got hurt by it in the process." Honoka told him as he glanced down at Ayaka who was sitting in front of him on her broom, "Now I have to think of what to do now after what happened to Kagari-san."
"We can go back home." Y/N suggested, "We lost already our tail thanks to Natsume. We can go back there without having to worry about them following us."
"We can't go home." Honoka disagreed with Y/N's idea, "They will be probably waiting for us there."
"Good point." Y/N admitted with a nod if his head, "I didn't thought of it. They probably know where do you live, considering that Tanpopo lives with you. Do you know where we should go right now?"
"I don't know." Honoka answered, "We have something else to worry about now. We need to find a place to leave Kagari-san at."
Y/N turned to the side to look at him with a confused questioning look on his face, "Why?"
"The spell that one of Crisis-san's friends is rewinding it's target." Honoka explained to him why they had to find a safe place to leave Ayaka, "It reverted Kagari-san back to who she was before she learned how to do her magic."
"Oh, I see." Y/N replied, now understanding why Honoka wanted to find a place to leave Ayaka at. As soon as he responded to Honoka's explanation, a realization flew through his mind, "If she was reverted to her younger self, did it affected her memories? Does she know who the two of us are?"
Honoka had to admit. Y/N asked a pretty good question right now. Ayaka couldn't even remember who he was after she was reverted into her yourself self. He shifted his gaze from him to Ayaka and asked her, "Do you know who I am, Kagari-san? Or who Y/N is?"
Ayaka remained silent, her emotionless eyes staring up at him.
"Should we take this as a yes or as a no?" Y/N question after a brief moment of silence between them.
"I don't know." Honoka answered as looked away from Ayaka and once again looked ahead of himself, figuring out who would the the best person to leave Ayaka with right now, "Do you know where Touko-san is working today? We can leave Kagari-san with her."
"No idea." Y/N shook his head as he couldn't think of the job Touko would be working at today. There was simply too many of them to choose from, "It would be easier for me to remember where she works at if I didn't kept seeing her working in various places all over this city."
"You're not the only one." Honoka agreed with him, "I was suprised myself when I was told that she has many jobs around the city back when Rinon-san attacked the school."
"Yeah." Y/N gave him a nod of agreement in response, "You should have seen how suprised I was when one day is saw her working in my favourite maid cafe and the next day I saw her working as an assistant in the grocery store I always shop at. At first I thought that I mistaken her with someone else."
"If that's the case, then we will have to check every place she works at in this city if neither of us know where to find her today." Honoka stated.
"Yeah." Y/N let out a sigh, knowing how long it could take them to find Touko if they didn't thought of the right place on their first pick, "Do you know which one is the nearest to us right now?"
Honoka thought for a brief moment before responding, "Le Grand Grimoire, I think is the closest one to us right now."
Y/N nodded his head, accepting Le Grand Grimoire place as his new destination, "Le Grand Grimoire it is."
The two of them turned their brooms to the side and changed directions, starting to fly towards their new destination. Y/N made sure to look around them, just in case if the Tower Witches were looking for them instead of waiting for them in their neighbourhood. Honoka spoke with Ayaka a few more times on their way there, trying to get any answer out of her, but Ayaka remained silent everytime he spoke to her. A brief glances up at him were the only answer he had gotten out of her during their entire journey to the Le Grand Grimoire.
They reached their destination a few minutes later. They made their way to the ground the moment the place of their destination appeared in their view. They walked into the Le Grand Grimoire and took a quick cover behind one of the thinner walls in this place. Honoka leaned out of his cover and took a good look around the place. It didn't took him long to spot Touko. The blue haired girl was standing in front of one of the tables, wearing the clothes the waitresses in this place usually wore.
She wasn't the only familiar person he spotted in this place, though. Rinon was with her. The pyjama wearing girl was sitting at the table that Touko was standing in front of, with a parfait standing in front of her. She seemed to have some kind of blurb in front of her, but he couldn't see what it exactly was, because of the distance between them.
Honoka looked over his shoulder at him and responded to him quietly, "She's here."
"Good. At least we won't have to check every place she works at in this city." Y/N whispered back as he gestured towards Ayaka, "Should we tell her it's the Princess?"
"No." Honoka whispered back, shaking his head at the suggestion, "I think it will be better if we don't."
Y/N nodded his head, "Alright."
Honoka turned away from Y/N and slightly leaned his head out of his cover for Touko to see. Touko glanced over his shoulder and saw Honoka motioning for her to come over to him. She looked at him with a questioning look on her face as she excused herself to Rinon and walked away from the green haired girl, making her way to Honoka, Ayaka and Y/N.
"Oh, if it isn't Takamiya-kun. What brings you all the way here and wearing a robe?" She asked as she shifted her gaze from Honoka to Y/N, "Oh, you're here too, Y/N and you're in your robe too. What are you doing here with Takamiya-kun?"
"Oh, you see." Y/N quickly came up with a lie, "I was just coming back from school on my broom when I stumbled upon them. Me and Honoka jave something planned out for later this day and I ended up tagging along with them."
"Them?" Touko titled her head to the side in confusion, "What do you mean by them? I see only Takamiya-kun with you."
"Look over here." Y/N pointed to where Ayaka was standing and Touko looked to where he was pointing at. A huge smile immediately spread over her face.
"What? Whoo?! Is that cute girl!" Touko was practically bursting in happiness as she got herself on her knees and engulfed Ayaka in a bone crushing hug, unaware of who it really was. Ayaka looked up at Honoka and Y/N. Her was expression stoic, but a hint of unamusement was showing in her eyes.
"Uh..." Honoka struggled to find the answer for a second, "Th-this is a relative's daughter."
"Wowww!" Touko exclaimed as she didn't thought about letting go off Ayaka, "She's so pretty! But why are her clothes so baggy?!"
"I..." Honoka once again struggled to find the right answer, "I didn't have any clothes for her, heh."
Y/N shifted his gaze from Touko at Honoka, giving him an unamused look at his explanation as Honoka shrugged his shoulders at him in response. The explanation may have not been the best but at least it seemed to work on Touko.
"...Um, anyway, Touko." Honoka spoke again after staying silent for a brief moment.
"Yes?" Touko asked, still hugging Ayaka.
"Can I ask you to watch over her for a while?" Honoka questioned.
"Remember when I said that I had something planned with Honoka later for today?" Y/N asked as he added his part to Honoka's cover up story, "Yesterday when I paid the Takamiya's a visit, Guthrum and the Princess to have a shared training between me and Honoka today. I doubt that Guthrum would like to have a little girl watching over our training session."
"Of course!" Touko agreed to watch over Ayaka without hesitation.
"Thank you, Touko-san." Honoka gave Touko a grateful smile, "I would leave her with Kasumi-chan but she is doing something with her friend today."
"I think we should get going." Y/N shifted his gaze from Touko and Ayaka to Honoka, "Guthrum is going to give us an earful if we come late."
Honoka nodded his head at him and looked at Touko to say one last thing to her, "I'll come back to get her later."
"Okay!" Touko freed Ayaka from her embrace and held her hand out to her, wanting her to grab her hand. In response to this, Ayaka did nothing, just stared at her.
Honoka and Y/N turned away from Touko and Ayaka and walked out of the Le Grand Grimoire. The two of them started to walk along the street, beginning to think on what they should do next. Honoka brought himself out of this thoughts when he glanced to his side at his neighbour who was walking next to him, feeling like there was something he had to say to his neighbour.
"Y/N." His voice calling out for Y/N brought his neighbour out of his thoughts.
Y/N titled his head to him, "Yes?"
"Thank you for helping me and Kagari-san out today." Honoka said what he wanted to say to him, You didn't have to do it."
"The two of us are in the Workshop, now, aren't we?" Y/N gave his neighbour a slight smile, "We have to help each other, right? Just like you did when you vouched for me the other day when you and the others paid me an unexcepted visit."
Honoka smiled back at him, "You don't have to return the favor for it. I and Touko-san vouched for us because we didn't thought of you as a bad person from the way we interacted with you earlier."
"If you say so." Y/N's smile widened, then he asked, "What are we going to do now?"
"I'm going to head to our neighbourhood." Honoka responded, "As I said earlier, Crisis-san's friends are most likely waiting for our there. If they will happen to be there, I will challenge them to a fight. They might be the only ones able to revert Kagari-san back to the way she was. I have to try."
"Okay." Y/N nodded his head, "Will you mind if I will go with you?"
"Y/N, you don't have to." Honoka answered to Y/N's offer, "You've already done enough to help me and Kagari-san today."
"If you say so, but I have a few reasons on why I should not back away from this now." Y/N responded and gave one of the reasons to why he was not going to back away from this thing, "One of those being the fact that I will probably have to sit through Guthrum's long lecture about how reckless I was today after I will return home. You see, he told me this morning before I left my house to not get into fights with the other magic users, because I'm still on the early stage of training. If I'm going sit through Guthrum's lecture, then I may as well make sure the thing that caused me to sit through had a good ending."
"Grimoire Guthrum-sama would do that?" Honoka questioned.
"You don't spend as much time with him as I do, Honoka." Y/N replied, "He would totally do that. Plus, it's not like I have much of a choice here, because I will come across them anyway. We live in the same neighbourhood, after all."
"Right." Honoka rubbed the back of his head in response.
"So." Y/N began, "Do you have any idea of now we should handle them?"
Honoka shook his head, "Not really."
"Then, it's good that it will take us some time to get to our neighbourhood if we will head there on foot." Y/N stated, "It will give us some time to think of something until then."
Honoka nodded his head. He and Y/N started to think of how they should take care of Tanpopo's friends once they will reach their neighbourhood right after. Luckilly, it took them a while to get to their neighbourhood and this amount of time allowed to think through every part in their plan. In the end, the plan they have come up might have not been the best, but it was the best one they could think of at the moment, considering their magic abilities as someone who was still learning in the arts of magic.
Y/N let out a deep breath as he and Honoka repeated the plan they had come up with for the last time. He readied himself for the upcoming fight with the Tower Witches once he and Honoka turned the corner and entered their neighbourhood. He glanced around himself and Honoka as he proceeded to walk along the street, trying to spot their opponents anywhere, but they were nowhere to be seen. It didn't stay this way for long, though as Tanpopo's friend made themselves known to them once they got close to the Takamiya household.
"See?!" The eyepatch exclaimed as she and her friends came out of their hiding spot, she and her friends grinning at the view of them, "There they are. Here to meet us. Are you ready to offer yourself to us, Takamiya-kun?"
"Offer myself?" Honoka asked her a question of his own in response.
"That's why you're here, now?" The eyepatch pointed out as she pointed at Honoka, "To save the Fire Witch!"
"Sorry, but I've decided to never give in to evil again." Honoka answered as he lifted his broom up a bit, a slight smile forming on his face, "We're going to fight!"
"What?" The eyepatch exclaimed, "What about you L/N-kun?"
"Do you really need to ask?" Y/N asked her in response as he planted his cane into the ground, "I thought I made myself pretty clear last time we saw each other. I'm with the Workshop now and dealing with this kind of thing became something I will have to do from now on after I made my decision to join it."
Honoka pointed his broom at the Tower Witches, holding it like it was a sword as he yelled out, "If I and Y/N win, you turn Kagari-san back to normal! Go that?!"
"Hmf, fine!" The eyepatch smiled confidently as she and her friends began readying themselves for the fight, "You're going to regret ever challenging us!"
Honoka and Y/N exchanged glances at nodded and nodded, the two Workshop Witches in training knowing what they should do next. Following the plan they had come up when they were on their way to this place, Honoka charged at the Tower Witches in front of him as Y/N pointed his cane at them, with the intention of casting Dark Blast as soon as it will be possible. The Tower Witches prepared themselves, knowing that they were more than ready to take these two out without any problem.
The two sides never got to find out which side was going to come out victorious out of this fight because the fight ended before it even properly started, though. Ayaka, now wearing a different set of clothes appeared out of nowhere and held her hand out to the Tower Witches in front of her. A huge explosion of fire surrounded the area she was pointing at and the massive impact of it blew the four Tower Witches away out of everyone's sight.
"...Wow." Y/N muttered to himself after a moment of staying unresponsive as he was at loss for words as he just got his first chance to witness how storng Ayaka's magic was, even when she was in such a state.
"Kagari-san?" Honoka looked at Ayaka, suprised to see her here because she should have been with Touko right now, "Why are you here?" He paused for a moment once she noticed the clothes she was wearing, "And dressed like..."
"Touko?" He was cut off by Y/N. He looked at his neighbour and saw him looking at Touko. She was dressed in her robe, holding her broom. Y/N eyed her as he asked, "What are you doing here?"
"She wanted to go where Takamiya-kun was so I brought her to him." Touko explained as she shifted her gaze from Y/N to Honoka, "So it was the Princess after all?"
"You noticed?" Honoka sounded suprised by Touko knowing about this girl being Ayaka all along.
"How did you know it was her?" Y/N asked out of curiosity, "I would never say that it was the Princess if Honoka took her to me instead."
"She had the same smell." Touko answered as if it was a perfectly normal answer.
"The same smell?!/What?" Honoka and Y/N responded to her at the same time, both of them looking incredibly puzzled by her answer.
"How would you..." Y/N stopped himself in the middle of the sentence as he realized one thing. It would probably be better for him if he didn't knew the answer, "On the second thought, scratch what I just said, I don't want to know."
"Still." Honoka gave Ayaka a slight smile as he leaned his head down to her, "Even as a child, you're the same Kagari as always. Though, I feel like you've grown since the last time as you."
"Now that you mentioned it." Y/N said as leaned his head closer to Ayaka, eyeing her to see if Honoka was right, "I'm seeing it as well. She did grown after we left her with Touko."
"Looks like we will just have to wait for you to return to your normal size." Honoka still had his eyes set on Ayaka as he stated, his smile not leaving his face. He shifted his gaze from her for a brief moment and shifted it between Y/N and Touko, "Does either of you know a place where we could wait for her to return to normal?"
Y/N and Touko exchanged glances, thinking of the closest place they could go to kill some time. It wasn't long before the two of them came up with the same idea.
-----
Y/N leaned back in his seat, enjoying the softness of it as he tried to relax a bit after taking care of his very first magic related business as a Workshop Witch. Honoka, Ayaka and Touko made sure to do the same. The group of four was now seated at the table where usually groups of a few people sat at. Ayaka had once again grown a little bigger, but was still at least a few hours away from turning into her normal self.
After taking care of the group of four Tower Witches, Y/N, Touko, Honoka and Ayaka went to the local maid cafe, because it was the place that was quite close to them and all of them were familiar with it in their own ways. Touko was familiar with this place because it was one of the many places she worked at, Y/N knew this place because it was one of his favourite places to spend his free time at and Honoka knew this place from the one time when Ayaka brought him here and he ordered a portion of ice cream that was way too big for him to eat after choosing a random item from the menu.
"Welcome to the maid cafe." The group of four glanced to the source of voice and saw a girl in their age with a wavy blond hair walking towards them, dressed as a maid. She stopped next to their table, offering them a kind welcoming smile.
"Hey, Hinata-san." Touko looked at her co-worker from this place with a smile on her face.
"Hey, Touko-san." Hinata smiled back at her, "You're not working today?"
"No." Touko shook her head and explained, "I'm working in the Le Grand Grimoire Today. I'm on a break right now."
Hinata nodded her head and shifted her gaze from Touko to Honoka and Ayaka, "Hello to you, Mr. President." She set her eyes on Ayaka and smiled at how adorable this little girl sitting next to Honoka looked like, unaware of who it truly was, "Who's the cute little girl?"
"She is just a relative's daughter." Honoka used the same lie as he did with Touko, "I was taking her out on a walk when I stumbled upon Y/N who was returning from school. He tagged along and the three of us eventually came across Touko-san."
"I see." Hinata nodded in understanding as she leaned her down to take a better look at Ayaka, offering her a smile, "Hey there, little one. What's your name?"
When Ayaka remained silent, Honoka quickly said, with a hint of nervousness in his voice, "She's pretty shy towards new people."
"I see. I'll give her some place, then." Hinata said in understanding as she leaned her head away from Ayaka, not wanting to make the girl uncomfortable, still having no idea who it truly was and shifted her gaze to the last person on the table. She offered Y/N a welcoming smile once she set her eyes on him, "Hello to you, Y/N. It's always nice to one of our regular clients here."
Y/N offered her a small wave of his hand, "Hey, Hinata. Good to see you too."
Hinata nodded back at his greeting and pulled out a small notebook with a pen placed between the pages. She opened the notebook and took out the pen, preparing herself to write something down in it as she set her eyes on Honoka, "May I take your and your cousin's order?"
"Nothing for us." Honoka shook his head at Hinata's question, "We just came here to hang out."
Hinata nodded her head and looked at Touko, "What about you, Touko-san?
"I'll go with the same portion of ice cream as always." Touko replied as she pointed at one thing on the menu. Hinata nodded her head as she wrote Touko's order down in her notebook and shifted her gaze from her to Y/N.
"What about you, Y/N?" She wanted to know if Y/N wanted anything, "The same as usual or did you just came with them?"
At first, Y/N was about to decline her offer but ultimately ended up changing his mind after giving this idea a brief thought. He smiled back at her and nodded his head, "Why not? It was a long day. I could eat my favourite cake now to relax a bit. Good thing I always take my wallet with me whenever I go."
"Alright." Hinata nodded her head in response, "I'll go get Yanagi-san and Tomoko-san. They should be here in a moment."
"Okay." Y/N nodded his head in understanding, "I'll be waiting."
"One more thing." Hinata said as she leaned towards him, stopping close to him. Y/N slightly flushed as how Hinata's face was close to his, which went unnoticed by Hinata as he confused by her action, but quickly got the answer to why she was doing this as she whispered to him, "I heard about Grimoire Guthrum-sama. A shame you didn't bring him here with you. It would be interesting to see him in person."
Y/N's eyes widened at it as Hinata just revelead herself to a Witch to him, because how else would she know about Guthrum. Hinata leaned away from him and began walking away to take care of her thing as Y/N pointed at leaving Hinata and turned from her to Touko, Honoka and Ayaka, asking them, "Is she?"
"Hinata-san in a Workshop Witch." Touko confirmed to Y/N who Hinata was as Honoka seemed to be suprised by it as much as he was, "Yanagi-san and Tomoko-san are regular citizens, though. We shouldn't talk about Witch related topics once they will come over to you."
"Noted." Y/N nodded in understanding. He glanced down at the menu, curious to see what Touko had ordered. His eyes widened in suprise once he saw the amount of ice cream that she just ordered, "...Damn, Touko."
"What is it?" Touko asked as she and Honoka exchanged glances, confused by Y/N's sudden suprised reaction at something, making Y/N pick up the menu from the table with the intention of showing to her what he meant by that.
"You really like ice cream, don't you?" Y/N revealed what he meant to her and flipped the menu to the other side, pointing at the ice cream that Touko just ordered, "I don't think a normal human being would be able to eat this much ice cream without getting a brain freeze halfway through."
"Oh, you see, ice cream is my staple food." Touko answered, "My magic is focused around ice. It can get out of control some times. Like last week when a group of Tower Witches attacked the courtyard during the lunch break and I ended up creating a large iceberg on the courtyard after the Princess threw me at them."
"I know." Y/N replied and added before Touko could ask him how did he knew that, "I saw the entire thing happen from my spot on the roof. The rest of the day was like living in an ice-age for me. I was suprised that I ended up going home without getting a hypothermia in the process."
"I'm sorry about it." Touko let out a nervous laugh, a hint of a guilty look forming on her facial features, "Things kinda got out of control back then. I'm having a hard time controlling my powers whenever I find myself in danger."
Y/N shrugged his shoulders, "You may have hard time controlling your powers but you don't need to apologize for what happened on the courtyard last week. It still wasn't your fault from what I have seen."
Touko nodded her head at him, though a hint of a guilt expression remained on her face.
"Y/N." Honoka called out for Y/N as soon as Y/N and Touko stopped talking about Touko's love for ice cream.
Y/N looked at him, "What is it?"
"You're a regular here, right?" Honoka asked him.
"Yes." Y/N nodded in confirmation, "I come here pretty often. It's one of my favourite places to spend my free time at in this city"
"How did you started coming to this place?" Honoka asked him out of curiosity.
"Hmm..." Y/N placed his hand on his chin, trying to remember the first time he came to this place, "I remember being bored on the day when I came here for the first time. You know, the kind of the day when even the stuff you like doing in your free time bores you. We all have those from time to time." Honoka and Touko nodded in understanding as Y/N continued, "I was walking around the city and trying to find a way how to spend my free time and it was when I recalled how one of my friends back from America asked me if I ever visited a place like this after me and my family moved here. I went to this place afterwards and enjoyed my time here so I started to come here more often. Not to mention the cake in this place is something to die for."
"I know, right?" Touko nodded in agreement as Y/N looked at her to see her smilling slightly at the thought of how good the cakes they sold at this place tasted like, "They do sell really good cakes here. I order one of the choices from the menu as a dessert from time to time."
Y/N gave her an amused smile, "A dessert after eating this large amount of ice cream?"
"Well..." Touko gave him a nervous smile, "Ice cream doesn't really count as a dessert when it's your staple food."
"I guess. I would probably think the same way I ate as much ice cream as you do." Y/N smiled back, nodding his head and looked at Honoka again, "Well, there's my answer to your question. What got you curious about it?"
Honoka gave the back of his head a quick rub, "I just never excepted you to like stuff like this when we first meet."
Y/N looked at Honoka with a suprised look on his face as Touko nodded in agreement to Honoka's words, "I was pretty suprised myself when I started to work here after I saw you and Hinata-san said that you were a regular here."
"Really?" Y/N was suprised by it as he shifted his gaze between the two, "Why?"
"It's just, I always thought of you as a loner who doesn't like to be around other people." Touko began her explanation to why Honoka and Touko thought like that as Honoka nodded in agreement, "I always saw you spending you time by yourself ever since we started highschool. I thought you wouldn't like stuff like this, because, you know."
"Not every loner is anti-social, you know?" Y/N looked genuinely suprised by Touko's explanation, "Is there something with me liking to spend my time on my own?"
"No." Honoka shook his head to show his neighbour that he and Touko didn't mean anything bad by it as he answered as Touko nodded in agreement, "There's nothing wrong with it. We didn't mean nothing bad by it. Everyone is allowed to spend their free time however they want."
"Good to hear that." Y/N smiled at them pleasingly, "You have no idea how annoying it is when people think that you have no social skills because you like to spend your time on your own."
"How often does that happen?" Touko wanted to know.
"From time to time." Y/N responded, "I always was a loner, you see. I liked to spend my free time on my own for as long as I can remember. I always liked to play on my own than with the other kids when I was younger. I had friends back in America. In fact, I'm still in contact with them as we often play video games online or discuss things, but I hung out with them only from time to time when I felt like it." A smile formed on his face as he added, "I'm a complete opposite of Claire when it comes to this because she is is anything but a loner when she is around other people. She often took me with her to socialize with the other people, like this yearly medieval event in our city. Can't wait to participate in it again this summer"
Touko and Honoka smiled once they saw the fond smile that formed on Y/N's face once he mentioned his older sister. From what they have heard right now and back in Y/N house when they visited him, he must have had a really good relationship with her.
"Honoka." Y/N called out for Honoka a moment later, feeling like there was one thing he had to ask his neighbour about, "Can I ask you something?"
"Sure." Honoka nodded in response, "What is it?"
"Why do Tanpopo and her friends come after you so often?" Y/N asked Honoka what he wanted to ask him, "I saw you them attack you the other day and they attacked you today again. They said something about bringing you over to this Medusa person, whoever she is."
Honoka and Touko stared at Y/N as they were clearly taken aback by his question. Even Ayaka was slightly taken aback by his question as she shifted her gaze from Honoka after staring him for the entire time they've been at this place to him. It wasn't long before all of them remembered that Y/N didn't know about that, yet.
"Right. I don't think you've been told about her, yet..." Honoka was about to start his explanation to Y/N to why Tanpopo and her friends were going after him but never got to explain this thing to Y/N as Hinata came back to the table with a huge portion of ice cream on a tray, cutting him off.
"Here's your ice cream Touko-san. I hope you will enjoy this." She said as she placed a large portion of ice cream in front of Touko, "I hope we didn't kept you waiting."
Touko smiled gratefully at Hinata as Hinata turned away from her and walked off to take care of the other clients in the place. Touko immediately dug into her ice cream and a large smile spread over her lips once she tasted her ice cream, enjoying the coldness and sweetness of it.
As Touko proceeded to enjoy her ice cream, two people walked past Hinata and made their way to the table. Yanagi, a lavender haired girl with a short hair and Tomoko, a black haired girl with a long hair approached Y/N's side of the table, with the latter holding a plate with a piece of a chocolate cake in her hands.
"Hello, Master." Yanagi greeted YN, bowing her head slightly at him, Tomoko who was standing next to her doing the same, making sure to not drop the plate with a chocolate cake as she did so, "Should we get to it or would you like for us to wait for a second with it?"
Y/N nodded his head and leaned back in his chair as Yanagi and Tomoko came closer to him, taking it as their signal to start. Yanagi placed her hands on his shoulders and started to give him a massage as Tomoko took a spoon and started to feed with his favourite cake. Y/N smiled, enjoying this, just like he did everytime whenever he came to this place.
This is how the group of four Workshop Witches spent the next several minutes, occasionally sharing a word with each other about some thing either related to school or something else, making sure to not say anything related to magic because of Tomoko and Yanagi being near them.
-----
A tired sigh escaped Y/N's lungs once he used his keys to unlock the entrance to his home. He definitely wasn't planning this day to go the way it went when he was leaving his household earlier that day all of this really happened. At least everything worked out pretty well in the end and in the end he ended up eating his favourite cake in the company of Honoka, Ayaka and Touko to relax himself after this long day.
Before making their way to neighbourhood they live in, Y/N, Honoka and Ayaka split up from Touko as Touko had to return to her work at Le Grand Grimoire. Upon reaching the Takamiya household, the group of three was greeted by the sight of Tanpopo. The cat eared girl began talking to Honoka and Ayaka about her friends but Y/N paid no attention to it as the split up from them with the intention of returning to his home after saying his goodbyes to Honoka and Ayaka.
There was one thing he had to admit, though. Tanpopo looked kind of cute with a rabbit themed hairpin on her head.
With the matter of the Tower Witches settled for now, there was another thing he had to worry about and it was telling Guthrum why he came home much later than he was supposed to and why it took him so long to return to it. He braced himself mentally as he entered his home, because he knew that he was in for a long lecture if he ended up doing something that would displease him.
"I'm home, Guthrum!" He shouted to let Guthrum know that he had returned as he placed his keys back in his pocket, kicking off his shoes as he did so.
He began making his way to the living room where he excepted Guthrum to be, with the sound of a pair of mechanical feet moving across the floor ringing through his ears a second later. He already knew this mechanical sound as he heard already heard this a few times after agreeing to become Guthrum's user and already knew who to except to see in the living room alongside Guthrum.
He made his way into the living room and quickly noticed a hint of Macaron as the walking teddy bear ran into his kitchen. He couldn't see the rabbit anywhere, but he suspected him to already be in his kitchen at this point. He thought about making a comment about it to Guthrum, but decided to back away from it for now. He shifted his gaze to Guthrum. Red aura was surrounding his remote as Guthrum used his magic to click on it, turning the TV off.
"Hey, Guthrum." He offered his greetings to the floating book, pretending that he didn't just see Macaron run into his kitchen.
"There you are, lad." Grimoire Guthrum spoke to him as soon as he turned to look at him, dropping the remote onto the couch, "What took you this long to get home? You were supposed to be home right after school and your classes ended a while ago, I believe."
"I know." Y/N answered as he made his way to the couch and sat down on it, "This isn't entirely my fault. Some, um..." He paused for a second as he tried to find the best words to put it, "Let's just call them complications appeared when I was on my way home."
"Oh, what happened?" Grimoire Guthrum wanted to know what were those "complications" that Y/N mentioned.
"Um, you might want to sit down for this one, Guthrum." Y/N suggested, gesturing to the spot next to him.
"Sit down?" Grimoire Guthrum sounded utterly flabbergasted and unamused by his user's suggestion, "How am I supposed to do this, lad? The only thing I can do is to lay down."
Y/N rolled his eyes, "You know what I mean, Guthrum."
"Very well." Grimoire Guthrum answered and landed on the couch next to Y/N, leaning his back against the grey pillow, "What is it you wanted to talk about with me? What were those complications as you called them that prevented you from returning to your household in the time you intended to return."
"Remember when I said that I will try to stay out of trouble today in school?" Y/N asked in return as Guthrum hummed in confirmation. Y/N rubbed the back of his head after hearing Guthrum's hum as he proceeded to tell him the story of everything that happened today, "You see, something happened shorty after classes ended and it included a group of Tower Witches..."
He ended up telling him everything, starting with him leaving the school and hearing some strange noises afterwards, him going to check it out which resulted in him going against a group of Tower Witches, with the assistance of Honoka, Natsume, Ayaka and Touko, even though all the last one did was bringing Ayaka back to him and Honoka.
"...That's pretty much everything that happened in the last few hours." He said as soon as he said the last part of his story, "If you want to lecture me about going against more experienced magic users without your assistance, then go ahead. I want to get this over with."
Grimoire Guthrum was silent for a brief moment as Y/N braced himself for the long lecture he was most likely going to hear, "...You did well today, lad."
Y/N looked slightly suprised, "Huh?"
"I admit that going against a group of four more experienced Tower Witches was foolish of you." Grimoire Guthrum admitted, "I wouldn't probably lecture you how foolish it was of you if you would go against all of them by yourself without the assistance of Honoka, Touko Natsume and the girl that all of you call Princess for some reason...." He paused for a second as he realized something, "Actually I never asked you about this. Why do all of you call her like that?"
"It's just a school thing." Y/N went straight to the point as he didn't want to go into the long explanation about this, "I simply went along with everyone."
"I see." Grimoire Guthrum said in understanding as he went back to what he was saying a moment earlier, "As I was saying, I would give a lecture about how reckless it was of you if you went into this fight all by yourself, but you had other magic users from the Workshop with you. I'm certain that you got some experience on going against a different magic user out of this situation which is something you will need for your future as a Workshop Witch."
A smile spread over Y/N's face, "Thanks, Guthrum."
"As for the training that I had planned out for you today." Grimoire Guthrum brought up the matter of Y/N's training, "We will have to move it for tommorow because of how late you came home. I will count what happened to you today as todays training."
Y/N nodded in understanding, his smile remaining on his face, "Alright."
