Mom

When Fiona Goode was just twenty one years old, she found herself pregnant.

She married her boyfriend of two years, just one week after finding out they were expecting.

On July 23rd. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl; who she named, Cordelia.

Things were okay in the beginning.  Fiona was a young mom, but she tried her very best.  There were moments when both she and Cordelia were in tears.  Being a mother has been the most challenging thing Fiona has ever gone through.

That is until September 27th.  The day her husband left her and Cordelia without warning.

Fiona was absolutely heartbroken.  She loved that man more than she has ever loved anyone else in her whole life.  Even more than her daughter.  After he left Fiona realized she had been trying to be the best mom she could be just for her husband.

Now that it's just the two of them, and Hank is not there for Fiona to lash out on, she has started to take her feelings out on her daughter.  Fiona leaves Cordelia with the nanny every single night while she goes out to drink, and hook up with random men.

Fiona has grown to despise looking at her daughter.  Every time she looks at her, she sees her ex husband.

Cordelia's nanny noticed, and hoped it would be something Fiona would get over.  Cordelia was so small, and she needed her mother.  Unfortunately, Fiona got over it.

Time went on, and Cordelia grew up into a beautiful young witch.  She struggled because Fiona never taught her how to use her power.  She knew she was different like her mother, but she was confused.

To Cordelia, Fiona was super mom.   A woman she loved.  A woman she looked up to.  Cordelia thought Fiona was the most beautiful woman she's ever met.

It is now Cordelia's 12th birthday.

"Mom?  Mom!"

Fiona sat in front of her vanity, primping herself up.

"MOOOOM!"

Fiona rolled her eyes and shouted, "What?!  I'm in here!"

"I.. where are you going?"

"Out."

".. But it's my birthday.."

"I bought you a Chanel purse, what more do you want?"

"I thought maybe we could have a mom and daughter night.."

"Don't you have friends you'd rather hang out with?"

"I wanna hang out with you!" Cordelia smiled and grabbed her mother's arm.

Fiona turned and gave her daughter a look of disgust. As if it were a stranger touching her.

"Sweetie, I have a very important date- er.. I mean.. meeting." Fiona smiles.
"Tonight isn't good for me."

"What about tomorrow?"

"We'll see."

"Okay.. Mom?"

"What?" Fiona asked, clearly annoyed.

"You look beautiful." Cordelia smiled.

"Thanks.  Run along now."

Cordelia smiled and kissed her mother on the cheek before running out of her room.
