Bus sucks ass

//Your POV//

After another painful day of school, I started to walk to my locker, putting books I didn't need back and my homework in my bag.

I groaned, looking at the calendar held to my locker door with a magnet, realizing today was only Monday, which meant;

1. I still have the rest of the to get by, shitty as always.

And 2. I'm still grounded until Saturday.

"Fuck my life.." I sighed as I shut my locker.

And that's when I heard it, "Hey, Nerd girl."

Max stood behind me, his hands hidden in the pocket of his blue hoodie, his black backpack lazily slumped on his shoulder.

"Hi, Max."

"I was wondering if we can hang out."

"You really don't get what grounded means, don't you? Besides I have homework to do."

"So do I, we can do it together," Max suggested.

"Uh, sure. How about we go to my house. My parents won't be home til 8 so I'm gonna be alone for a while."

"Sounds like a plan," He smiled.

I started walking so Max followed naturally, "I'll hitch a ride on your bus, since I didn't take my car today."

"You sure? We can just walk."

"Nah, I'm too lazy."

I frowned, "my bus gets a little crazy in the afternoon."

"What bus doesn't?" He laughed.

"I guess that's true," I giggled.

Max stared at me for a couple seconds.

I swore I could see a pink tint on his cheeks.

"What? Is there something on my face?" I asked.

"Sorry, you're just..really pretty to look at.." Max mumbled the last bit.

I felt my face heat up, "T-Thanks but I'm s-seriously not that pretty.."

"You are, also that stutter is adorable," Max winked.

"uuuuMMMM WE'RE GONNA MISS THE BUS LET'S GO," I sped walk/ran to up to my bus with Max following closely behind, laughing uncontrollably.

We got onto the bus, (thankfully the driver is too dense to realize Max isn't even on this bus) and found a spot right in the middle of the bus on a two seater.

It was one of the last spots left that could fit two of us, so we had to squeeze together.

I sat by the window while he was on the outside.

Max said he wanted it like that because and I quote, "Say we get in an accident with that pot head of a driver, you won't go flying as far since you're a bit more cushioned by the wall as long as the window doesn't break."

And then he proceeded to click my seat belt for me like a parent.

Y'all know this made me internally scream.

Oh, and,

Remember when I said my bus was rowdy a couple paragraphs back?

Yeah, a water bottle went flying, most likely on purpose to hit the driver or someone else, and instead got me in the back of the head.

As you have already probably guessed, Max freaked the fuck out.

"WHO THE FUCK THREW THAT?!" He basically stood up.

Everyone in the back pointed to some sweaty looking kid who was

a. Most likely a freshman,
and b. Was probably having a heart attack.

I tugged at Max's arm to make him sit back down, "It's okay, I'm used to it. Shit like this happens all the time here."

"Yeah? Well that's gonna change," Max nodded.

He turned back to the freshman and slowly moved his finger across his throat, causing the poor kid to piss himself more.

"Max leave him alone," I pulled him back.

"Fine."

I could hear a certain someone snicker at me.

Max must've heard her too because he looked even more pissed.

"Wow, Y/n, you really didn't take my advice about staying away from the dirt bag," Emma smirked.

"Shut it, bitch," Max growled, letting me hide behind him.

He knew I was kind of afraid of her.

Thankfully, it was my stop before a fight could break out, "Max! This is my stop!"

He glared daggers at Emma as we walked off the bus.

One of her goons 'coughed' the word "SLUT!" at me.

Now, that stung-

Max gripped my hand and kinda dragged me off the bus.

"Fucking cunt. She's gonna fucking pay for that."

He must not have not noticed me already walking home, my head held low.

Max ran up to me to catch up, "Hey, don't let that bitch get to you."

I wiped my eye with my sleeve, "Sorry..."

"You're..you're crying.." Max frowned, looking concerned.

"Y-Yeah. Sorry I'm such a baby," I looked away, tightly hugging myself.

Max wiped some of my tears with his thumb, "Please don't cry. They aren't worth your time to cry over."

"I just wish she would mind her own business.." I looked to the ground.

Max squeezed my hand, "I know, Y/n. She's an idiot. Her life is pathetic, so she prays on other's lives."

"That's actually kind of sad."

"Yeah," Max chuckled.

I intertwined my fingers with his, "can we go to the house? I'm tired."

"Of course," He smiled.

//Max's POV//

'She's too fucking adorable..' I thought as I looked at her.

She gripped my hand like her life depended on it, yet she was too shy to even look at me.

As soon as we got in the house, she said "screw homework, I'm too tired."

"We can do it later," I shrugged.

Well, her, I'm probably not even going to do my homework.

"Nice House," I complimented.

"Thanks," She smiled her sweet smile, "You can leave your stuff in my room."

"Thanks, Nerdy."
