Saving you from the Darkness- Nanamiki

Requested by my depression and my stupid thoughts

Mikan let out a small sigh as she quickly walked up the stairs and to her class, her stuff pressed against her chest. She nervously peered into her class and going inside, sitting down with a sigh. To her left, her friends, who as wasn't really close with, Junko and Hajime sat next to her. Junko, as she did nearly every single day, smiled her signature smile and flipped a pigtail over her shoulder, telling everyone around them that she was better. "Good morning, Mikan." She said, her smile not leaving her lips one bit.

"Good Morning Junko." Mikan said softly, a small smile on her lips for a little bit before the other tackled her.

"Oh come on Mikan! You don't need to speak that softly around me!" She yelled, practically making her deaf. Mikan looked at her and laughed as she put an arm up, trying to mask the throbbing pain in her ear.

"Get off of her Junko." Hajime snapped, grabbing the girls collar and pulling her back forcefully.

"Aw, why do you have to be so harsh...?" The blonde whined, rubbing her neck.

"Because you're annoying." He snapped, making Junko pout and Mikan laugh softly. She put a earphone into her ear and looked down at her phone, trying her best to block out the loudness of the other besides her, but for the most part it didn't work. After a few minutes of listen to Junko and Hajime's bickering of who knows what, Chiaki hurriedly walked in, seeming disappointed that there wasn't a seat next to her friend. So instead, she pulled up another desk and slid it up to Mikan's, sitting down with a sigh before smiling at her softly.

"Hi." She said softly, completely out of breath. Mikan opened her mouth to say hi back but ended up waving quickly before Junko shoved the two together to say hi to the one that was farther away from her. And once again, Hajime pulled Junko by her collar to give the two some space.

"Sorry for her nonsense." Hajime said, standing up in his seat a bit as he looked at the two farther away from him. And as usual, Chiaki smiled kindly and put her hand up.

"No it's okay, you don't need to apologize." She said, smiling at him gently before looking at her best friend next to her. The two looked at each other for a small second before they laughed a little bit.

Class started not too long later, and it was harsh, every second of it. Junko, who was besides Mikan, kept asking her things question after question and making her stressed. Chiaki wasn't really paying attention, since she was across the room helping someone with their work. Junko also has a habit of making people feel less than her, pointing out all of their flaws and commenting on how bad they looked compared to her, which made Mikan feel like she was sticking out like a sore thumb. Of course she thought that she was under average from all the other girls and looked ugly, from the weird scars on her body and face from the past abuse and her messy hair. But with her friends critique, it was almost too much for her to take on by herself. And as usual, She didn't say anything about this pain she felt so she didn't hurt anyone's feelings.

After the class ended, and half of the students left, Mikan collected all of her stuff and shoved it into her bag. As she got up to talk to her friend before they parted ways, her eyes went straight forward to Chiaki walking outside of the room with Hajime, leaving her friend behind. This was normal, friends leaving friends, friends did that, right. It wasn't long before Mikan hung her head down low and quickly walked out of the classroom quickly so nobody saw her tears falling from her eyes as she looked at the floor. Throughout the day, she cried, she tried going onto the group chat and complaining about her day, she tried to stay alone and just breathe, but no matter what she did it felt like the world hated her. Was it really time to pull the emergency hatch out? Isn't it too early for that?

At the end of the day, Mikan and Chiaki walked out of the school together, they two of them were quiet. When they were about to part ways, and after she hesitated for a bit, Mikan grasped onto her sleeve, startling the other. "C-Can I ask you s-something...?" She asked, her voice soft and trembling.

"Yea, of course." Chiaki said, a small smile on her rosy lips. Mikan let out a small sigh before she looked down at the ground and her hand dropping from her shirt.

"Can..." She said softly before swallowing her pride and looking down even more. "Can I die now...?" She asked, her voice shaking even more than before.

"What... do you mean...?" Chiaki asked, pain in her voice. Mikan winced a bit upon hearing her words, immediately regretting her decision.

"W-Well..." Mikan said softly, not knowing where to quite start in her soon to come explanation. She was quiet for about a minute before she started to spill her feelings out. Her loneliness, her pain, her suffering, her stress, everything. It wasn't long before the tears started to fall down her cheeks and continued on and on. When she finished, it was the moment of silence that worried her, of what would happen? What would she going to do?

Instead of what she expected, Chiaki hugged her friend tightly, as if if she were to let her go she would disappear from her arms. "I'm sorry that I haven't been a good enough friend to you Mikan..." Chiaki said softly, her voice low enough so only the two of them could hear. "I'm so sorry, Mikan..." she repeated, again and again, over and over until her tears prevented her from saying anything else. So instead the two of them held each other closely and cried together as other students passed by them.

The next day, Mikan walked into her class, somewhat expecting the same stuff from yesterday to happen that day too. When she walked in Chiaki was sitting in the same place she was sitting yesterday and smiled softly. And as usual, Junko pounced on her before Hajime grabbed her collar and pulled it back again. Chiaki smiled at Mikan with a gentle smile and held her hand softly. "Good morning." She said, a smile still on her lips. A small blush rose onto Mikan's cheeks before she smiled back, a somewhat happy smile on her own.

"Good morning." She said, the two of them looking at each other for a second before laughing, their hands still being held together.

THIS IS SO RUSHED AAAAAAAAA
