CHAPTER FOUR The Waiting Room.
Waking up to the sound of laughter and something poking my shoulder. Jolting up, I lash out, swinging my arm, swiping at it. Panting like a wild animal. A group of enderians burst out laughing. And I tense a little. Not making a sound. Where are the guards? Thinking to myself.
Looking around, noticing I'm in a giant room, made from the strange purple block. There are two doors on opposite sides covered by iron bars. I look back at the ones who were laughing at me. They all appear to be kids, though a variety of ages.
Getting up, I see the kid who I copied originally. He's sitting in a corner frightened. Walking to one of the doors I see prison cells. Why are all of these kids in jail?... Walking to the other door I see a scenery of trees, there's a large hill in the middle with weapons leaning against a shelter. What is this place?
I walk over to the group of kids who were laughing at me and giving me some confidence.
"Hey! Do you know what this place is?" I ask them in Enderman. Stopping their conversation, they glare at me.
"Well, they call it the "waiting room" One of the taller ones replies making air quotations with his hands. "But for you I'd call it waiting for your death." Pausing, he gives me a nasty smirk. " I mean look at you, you're almost as small as him." He points at the kid who I had copied. I guess he's below average. " I mean you too look more like endermites than enderlings."
" Well it's a good thing, endermites are hard to catch." I reply " But anyone can see you coming from a mile away."
" Why you little!-" They're cut off from the bars to the cell's opening, two guards walk in. One has multiple deep scratches on his face.
" We're about to start." One of the guards says in Enderman, and we all turn to face him. " To pass, you need to kill the enderian on the top of the structural. Failure results in death. Whether he kills you or not. You have a five minute head start to gather weapons. After those five minutes, you will be able to attack him."
The iron doors drop on the opposite side. The two guards lead us all outside. Revealing it's not truly outside but an artificial arena with purple walls. We're trapped.
The guards go back into the "waiting room" and lock us out. There are three lights all off, then as a count down. The first one lights up, then the second as well, I get into a sprinting position, along with the others, the third one lights up, and I sprint.
Going as fast as I can straight towards the center. Bolting. Looking back, everyone's behind me. They haven't had to run to survive before...
I look back, I'm almost at the shelter. But I keep running. I'm panting, clenching my gloved hands. Once I get there I don't stop. I grab a pair of small knives, and keep running. Ducking behind, one of the nearby trees.
Everyone else finally made it to the shelter. I can hear them shouting about who gets what weapon, a few disputes end in only one left. After about a minute I come out from behind the tree. All of the others have positioned themselves around the shelter. There's no way that one Endrian can win... Looking up at the Enderian, they look familiar, but it's vague. Were you the pale figure? Their eyes meet mine, they're a deep purple, their white hair that darkens to black at about shoulder length, their skin looks sickly pale with a tinge of purple, but they seem ok.
Hearing a twig snap behind me I take my knife, flip it around and plunge it into the thing behind me. Which ended up being the Endrian who I pissed off. The knife digging into his throat. Magenta blood gushed out spraying me. He was trying to kill me... His corpse fell to the ground. Eyes rolling back in his head. His blood, staining the grass below.
Turning back to the structure, I noticed the five minutes had past. The Endrian was moving at a crazy speed, half of the Endrians and Enderlings were already dead. I need to move now. At this rate it will be a one on one fight, and if that happens... I'll definitely lose. Beginning to sprint, I bolt straight towards him, then suddenly I take a sharp left. Climbing the structure. Reaching the top I look down. I'm directly behind them. They're currently strangling another Enderling to death.
Now's my chance. Jumping down beside them, I position my knife as I had done before. I... You were the one who saved me... Hesitating, I can't... I walk up to them slowly. Sighing, I flip the knife back around, and cut a small cut across their arm. They look at me. Eyes wide. Still strangling the Enderling on the ground. Squeezing harder, I hear a large snapping sound.
Then they turn to face me, dropping the limp Enderling to the ground, I'm still staring. I'm gonna die now aren't I. They don't do anything. Just stare back. Then looking slightly off beside me. Snatching the knife from my left hand, in one swift movement, tossing the knife inches from my head. I can feel the wind it creates. Suddenly, I hear a gurgling noise coming from behind me, as if somones choking on their own blood. Looking, towards that direction, an Endrian really is choking on their own blood.
I turn back towards the figure, but they're gone... Hearing a scream to my left, I find them quickly, strangling another Enderian. Why didn't you do that to me?... After about six more minutes of me watching them go from one Enderian to the next, strangling them all. Guards enter, I'm not sure how many. They spread out, looking behind every tree, for survivors I assume.
Two approach me, and I don't resist. I failed, as usual. Grabbing both of my arms, Leading me back to the entrance, there's another Enderling being led back, his eyes filled with tears. I look down at the ground. I'm too tired to cry, to fight back, I'm tired of trying to be something, I really am a rabbit. Too weak to do anything, only good at running. The figure appears, completely covered in blood.
"Did either of these two pass?" One of the guards standing in front of us ask them in Galactic. They reply, but it's in a language I do not understand. It doesn't matter anyway. I'm dead for sure. A guard walks up to me and the other Enderling. This is it... The guard plunges a sword into the enderlings stomach, causing him to let out a blood curdling scream. I tense, part of me wants to fight, but I don't. I anticipate the pain of the blow. But it never comes, instead I hear footsteps. The guard who asked the question, grabs my jaw and forces me to look upwards, straight into his eyes. They're a deep dark purple. Out of the corner of my eye I see the bloodied figure tense. " Welcome to A.B.Y.S.S. 0015." the guard states.
