Prologue
Prologue
There was a strange sense of heat emerging from the lonesome Adeen Kalama. She stood at the back of the group of other students, waiting for her named to be called by the intimidating, Professor McGonagall.
Student after student, Adeen watched as they were placed into four of the house to reside within Hogwarts, a school for wizards and witches.
"Marcus Belby."
A boy with legs made of jello made his way up to the stool. The poor boy looked as if he would faint at any given moment. The professor gave him a comforting smile before placing the Sorting Hat on top of his head. He flinched suddenly but relaxed as the hat made his decision.
"Ravenclaw!"
The Ravenclaw table cheered for their newcomer. The boy joined them, looking a lot more relieved to be out of the spotlight.
"Cedric Diggory."
Adeen watched as a boy nervously walked up to the professor. He sat down on the stool and waited for the hat to speak. It didn't take long for the hat to come up with its decision.
"Hufflepuff!"
The yellow and black table cheered loudly and accepted the boy as one of their own.
"Wendy Gilmera."
A girl with a lot more confidence than the previous boys walked up to the stool and the hat. The hat didn't hesitate to place her with the green and silver folk.
"Slytherin!"
The students in the Slytherin house cheered for Wendy Gilmera. The girl bounced her way over and was obviously enjoying the attention of her peers.
"Adeen Kalama."
Adeen's eye twitched but nonetheless, she pushed her way through the students in front of her and sat down at the stool. The hat was placed upon her dark, red hair and she flinched when she heard a voice echoing inside her head.
I was wondering when you would appear here at Hogwarts, Miss Adeen Kalama...
"How do you know about me?" She thought in her head. The hat chuckled.
I've heard a great deal about you, Miss Kalama. You have a power unlike others. You have made yourself a myth among the Wizarding World. Not many believe you exist, some don't even know of your existence. And yet, here you are before me.
"Get to the point, will you. Everyone's staring," she snapped in her head. The hat chuckled.
You're not even considered human. Just an unnatural phenomenon that shouldn't have ever come to be. I can think of no better place than,
"Slytherin!"
And the Slytherin table cheered.
