☆Chapter 3☆

ONE DAY, YOU WILL MEET SOMEONE
WHO WILL SEE THE UNIVERSE
KNITTED IN YOUR BONES,
THE EMBERS OF GALAXIES GLOWING IN YOUR EYES
AND YOU'LL FINALLY KNOW
WHAT LOVE FEELS LIKE.”

"I'm sorry, what?" Both Seok Jin and Yoon Min questioned back together. Though they tried to ignore their harmony, they couldn’t help but steal a glance from each other.

"You heard it right. Mr. Yu Beom told me he saw Jin laughing with you which he never did with me. It may seem like nothing but I can say as a doctor, you have something inside and only you can help him," Dr. Han replied.

Seokjin began to laugh sarcastically which was quite scary.

“There. I laughed. Now happy?"

“Jin, I give you no right to speak in this matter,” Yu Beom shut him up coldly.

Sighing, he tried to read her facial expression and it was obvious she was very shocked. She seemed to collect her thoughts together in her mind while keeping a clueless expression.

Yu Beom chuckled since he thought everything was very easy. “I know it's too sudden and unexpected for you. But you just have to see him daily, try to talk to him, make him feel less lonely. You know try to be his friend? It must be a dream for a fan!"

"Forgive me, Manager-nim but I strongly deny your kind request. I do not want to associate with any fans. Also, I am not that sick," Seokjin declined the offer.

The manager ignored the idol very easily as if he never existed in the first place. They waited patiently for her answer only.

Yoon Min started slowly. “Yu Beom-ssi and Dr. Han. I don't think I am in a situation to be his friend. I have no skills in therapy and I am not fluent in Korean yet. Also, he has no interest in this. I cannot do anything more that will upset him. Please forgive me."

Thank God, she denied too. Seokjin mouthed a Told You to the manager. He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back. But why was his heart wanting to hear something else?

Yu Beom sighed heavily. Dr. Han also faced disappointment. It seemed like both the adults gave up. Obviously, they came up with an absurd idea of helping the idol so they had to come back to their senses.

Suddenly, both of them announced in a union. “Plan B!”

In a second of flash, Yu Beom began dragging Seokjin out of the room in a rush.

"Hey, hey, hey, what the heck are you doing?! Stop pushing me!"

"I need you to come with me. Let's go."

In a minute, they were out of the office, leaving a confused girl in bewilderment.

"Yoon Min-ssi..."

Dr. Han's polite voice grabbed her attention.

"Let me show you some things."

✦✧✧ - ✧✧✦

“Manager-nim? Manager-nim! Just tell me where to go! Stop dragging me like this."

Yu Beom took Seokjin to the backyard behind their office. He finally let go of him and faced him with a serious expression. The idol was very annoyed by his action.

“Manager-nim, do you know what you're doing? You brought a girl to help me?! Seriously? I-I can’t...she…I-I--”

"Seokjin."

He called his name dearly like a big brother. Seokjin immediately lost the rage he had inside and stared at the manager with his doe eyes. He calmed down instantly, knowing they were doing everything for his good.

"Try to listen to me," he breathed.

"I'm not kidding. In fact, bringing an ordinary girl to help you was beyond my imagination. When I first thought about it, I immediately rejected my own thought. But I couldn't stop thinking about your condition.

"Look, I went through the old videos of BangtanTV where all 7 of you were together. I couldn't stop my tears. Don't you miss them?"

Seokjin lost every emotion and strength when he heard the mention of his members. His dear brothers. The ones who were a part of his long beautiful journey. He loosened his grip and stared at the manager, unable to keep his face straight.

Yu Beom continued. "You know, I have to take care of them, also you privately. There is always that empty spot in my eyes. When I watch their choreography, I see an invisible Jin dancing beside them. When I see them recording their song, I see an invisible Jin trying to improve his vocals. Whenever I stand backstage, I see you. In interviews, in concerts...Everywhere I see an invisible Jin. And I'm damn sure your members also feel that.

“Years ago, your members had to stop trusting you. Chairman Bang told me to take you out of their lives. They had to forget you to continue their career, to not disappoint the fans. I have seen in your eyes that you miss them a lot. And believe me, I saw in all of their eyes that deep love they still have for you. They also miss you. Don't you want to go back to them?

“Seokjin, this is a chance. Chairman Bang finally gave you a chance to be with them. To appear in their new comeback. This is a brand new chance for you to come back to the world. If you be stubborn this time, you'll lose everything.”

Seokjin remained quiet for some time before asking, "And why her?"

He smiled sweetly before putting both his hands on the idol's shoulders.

"A true fan is the only person in the world who can help her idol. She has known you for a long time. She studied what you like and dislike, what makes you happy and sad, she knows what you want in what situation. A fan can read her idol's mind. She has the passion to support you, the power to take all your worries away. A true fan can play with your feelings in a mysteriously beautiful way to show you that she's always there for you. She will be happy if you're happy, she will cry if you cry. She tries to experience the same feelings you have just to understand you. Tell me, do you need anything else?”

Seokjin remained silent as he slowly started to understand the point.

"Sometimes, the most unexpected person can be the reason behind a great change in your destiny. All I want you is to talk to her, share your thoughts, listen to what she is saying, what she wants you to do. After all, she's an ARMY. She knows you better than anyone."

He looked down and put his lips in a straight line, still unable to come to a decision.

"And you don't have to keep it up. If she's too clingy, too immature, unable to help you, we can send her back. But please give her a chance. A chance to bring the BTS Jin back in you."

Seokjin let out a sigh and stepped back from the manager's hold. He rubbed his temple, his fingers went through his hair. It seemed like the toughest decision he ever had to make in his whole life.

"Take your time, Jin. I need you to think carefully."

Yu Beom patted his shoulder one more time. Then he turned around to give him some time and started walking back. To be honest, he himself wasn't completely sure. Apart from his family, he treasured BTS more than anything. He would never want anything bad for them. Last time, he couldn't take care of Seokjin properly. Now, he wanted to make it up for him. He wanted to make Seokjin stronger and happier. Like he used to be.

Before he could go ten steps away from him, he heard the depressed idol speaking softly,

"Okay."

✦✧✧ - ✧✧✦

“I kept these with me in case it might come in handy. Never thought I will have to use them on you,” Dr. Han was going through his shelf, trying to find some files.

Yoon Min sat in her position without showing a movement.

After some time, with some thick files in his arms, he sat across her and spread them over the glass table. Her eyes were stuck on them, wondering what they were. Dr. Han noticed her extreme curiosity so he told her.

"These are Seokjin's medical records."

She shifted her gaze back at the doctor with surprise. He took the dark blue file, opened it and showed her the papers. Though everything was written in medical terms, she had guessed the words weren't positive. She licked her lips and let her eyes go through the lines.

Dr. Han began explaining. "Seokjin first suffered from terrible depression. He was very sad about the fact he was wrongly accused by his ex-friends. He was heartbroken by the cruel behaviour of the fans. At first, he didn't move an inch from his bed, always staring at the ceiling in silence. A tear would roll down once in a while. After some months, he was able to move around his room. But he would stare at his reflection for hours. I saw him trying to talk to his reflection."

She took another file and read the description.

"That is about the numeral times we found him passed out. Most were the effects of alcohol but some were undefined. The doctors would keep him in ICU for days until he was conscious."

She looked at him, her lips slightly trembling. The gaze of her eyes was holding sympathy and sorrow.

"Was it so bad?" she asked.

Dr. Han said, "I shouldn't say this but I think it is necessary to inform you. He had tried to commit suicide twice."

The file in her hands dropped to the floor as she gasped in shock. It was as if her heart was being ripped to pieces.

He took off his glasses. "It was very bad. Mr. Yu Beom was very worried. He neither informed his family nor the members, afraid that they might worry. He tried to stay with him day after night until he felt better. It was too tiring for him."

She straightened her lips and looked away from the doctor. Her heart was breaking for the poor guy.

After a few minutes in silence, Dr. Han moved closer to her since she was still grieving. As a doctor, he had understood she was feeling very bad for her idol. It was bound to happen.

"Yoon Min-ssi..."

She met his eyes slowly.

"I couldn't help him as a doctor. I tried my whole best to bring him back. But I failed. I failed big time. But I don't want to see him losing when he did nothing wrong. It will be very unfair if he is as same as dying because of the wrong charges.

“I don't think he needs a therapist. I never thought so. What he needs is a friend. A friends who can convince him he still has a chance. So, I am asking you a favour. Can you please save him?”

She turned paler, looked down and was unable to answer.

"Talk to him, try to know what he is going through, share his pain and burden, make him feel less insecure. Even if he scolds you, fights with you, hurts you; stay with him. Is that too much to ask? You are his fan after all," Dr. Han was close to pleading.

"Dr. Han..." she finally opened her mouth. "H-how am I supposed to do that? I am a nobody. I don't know anything.”

He smiled faintly. "You do know how to be there for him, don't you? That is enough for the start."

She closed her eyes. Seconds passed in deep silence. Dr. Han was patient with her. It wasn't an easy decision to make of course. If she was some ordinary fan, she would've agreed to help him without thinking. But she put his choice in line. She wasn't ordinary. She thought of him before herself. He knew she was special.

He was about to urge her again but she opened her eyes and looked at him.

"Okay."

✦✧✧ - ✧✧✦

Closing the door with a soft sound, Yoon Min began walking through the lobby filled with busy people. It felt like she had taken a big decision. A decision that decided her future. A decision weighting the whole sky. She felt a strong heavy pain in her chest as she was too tensed about her choice.

It's uncontrollable when you see your bias in pain. There's this indescribable feeling you grow when you start to love a man who doesn't know your existence. It feels beautiful, but at the same time, very painful. When you have the chance to be there for him, can you say no? All your life, you've waited to meet him, to spend time with him, to dream all these scenarios with him. Now when you have a chance to do that, can you say No?

Are you being selfish?

She was having these thoughts inside her mind. Until she raised her head and saw a familiar figure walking towards her.

The feeling she had when a person she had always seen in videos, in front of her real eyes; it's amazing. She still felt like she was watching him on her device.

She stopped automatically. Her heart began beating fast. She only dreamed if she ever met her bias face to face, her heart would jump out of her chest. Turns out, her dream was coming true. The heart inside her wanted to jump outside and run to him.

Seokjin also stopped in front of her. He however didn't have these symptoms she was having. He had lost emotions and feelings a long time ago. He was a living zombie. Instead he found himself trying to control his heart from melting.

She was no more than a woman in her early 20s. She had a life ahead of her. What could she basically do for him? With a pretty face of hers, she could spend her youth with friends and family. Why would she bother giving her time to someone worth nothing? Why waste her time on a drunkard, useless guy?

He was in his own book of questions until Yoon Min suddenly spoke up which made him look at her.

“Let's do this, okay? Trust me. Can you do that?”

And as she said that, he realized she did know how he felt.

He was still staring at her, deep inside he was fighting to think what he should say. She wanted it. She was confident she could change him. Then there's no harm in giving it a try, right? He just had to trust her. If this was the way that could bring his old personality back in him, he should do this. He wanted to be the way he used to be. Confident and hopeful.

He wanted to be back in BTS, with his members and the fans.

“Let's do it.”

At that moment, their lives were bounded by the magic of the red string, looping around their fingers with the intention to keep them closer to each other until the stars denied.
