I was punching a punching bag, me and John had challenged each other to a fight to see who was strongest so I needed more training. Me and John had been friends since birth, our parents were good friends. I heard my door open but I continued to train, I then heard an amused chuckle sound behind me.
"Still training even though we know I'm going to beat you??" John laughed, I kept hitting the punching bag.
"I have to train and you should to if you are going to beat me," I chuckled in reply turning to face him, he was no taller then me and we were only a few months apart in age.
"Heh I don't need to train I can easily beat you," John sneered with a joking voice, I walked closer to him as he eyes me with an amused expression.
"Well let's see if you can put your money where your mouth is," I sneered back with a smirk walking past him, we both head outside to the fields beyond my house. We then began to circle each other, our eyes locked and never looked away. Suddenly John charged and I dodged sideways kicking him in the back, he spun around faster then I could kick him and shoved my foot away. I began to throw punches and blocked as he threw punches, we never seemed to be able to hit the other which meant we were evenly matched. I began to kick out as well but each time he would block my attacks, the same went for him when suddenly we heard a pelican land nearby. I didn't stop attacking and neither did he, out of the corner of my eye I noticed we were being watched but I didn't let it distract me. After about an hour we had tired ourselves out and backed away shaking hands, finally I turned to the figure who had gotten closer and noticed she was in a white coat.
"Hello children, I have come to collect you for a secret organisation," she greeted, me and John exchanged glances before listening to what she had to say.
"The organisation specialises in making soldiers out of ordinary kids, you two are apart of the selected few who have shown great skills and will possibly become the greatest warriors known to man," she explained, me and John exchanged curious glances before nodding.
"What about our parents??" John was first to ask, the women gave a gentle smile.
"We will replace you with clones, that way it will be as if you never left," she answered simply, we both let out sighs and followed her onto the pelican. We watched two clones of us walk out before the door shut, I took a seat at the very front of the pelican. There were many others on the pelican which made me grow curious about if the lady was telling the truth and not just kidnaping us, John sat next to me pulling me from my thoughts.
"Let's hope they aren't just taking us to kill us," John sighed, I nodded and sat back. This was going to be a very, very long trip.

I was shaken awake by John, I opened my eyes to see that the ship door was open. I stood and followed the rest of the kids off as they shut the doors, we were led towards a large room where we all took a seat. John as always say next to me, we knew no one here and it was always good to keep friends close.
"Children settle down, now we have brought you here to be apart of our new project, it is known as project spartan, you will each be trained and tested on your skills before you can rank up, there will be a leader board which by the end of the month whoever ends up at the top will earn the rank squad leader, after the month and everyone is up to speed on training we will give you your first mission, that is all for now, doctor Halsey will show you all to your rooms where you will be up at 5:00am sharp, any stragglers will be punished, dismissed!" The man called, we were forced to follow the women we now knew as doctor Halsey to the many rooms. John was put into the room across from me which meant we couldn't do our nightly wanders, I gave an angry sigh as I was put with a bunch of girls I didn't know.
"Hello, my name is Kelly," the girl who seemed to be a year younger then me with black hair greeted, I shook her hand as did everyone else.
"My Name is Dusk," another who had white hair greeted, we all shook her hand too.
"I'm Rose," a girl with red hair greeted, I smiled and shook her hand along with everyone else.
"My name, and don't laugh, is Caden, it means fighter," I shyly greeted, they all shook my hand and we claimed the bunks. I slept on one of the top bunks as only Kelly and I seemed to want them, I sat there and took my shoes off placing them at the end of my bed against the wall. I then proceeded to lay down but not under the covers as I never usually slept under blankets since it was so hot where I lived, tonight was a nice and warm night which wasn't too hot which was good. I hoped John had an easy time making new friends like I did, I gave a sigh and closed my eyes drifting off into a restless sleep.
