On June 16th, 1608, when Isolt turned 5, her father gave her a diary so she could write down her thoughts. Before Isolt could start writing in the leather-bound book, her parents were killed and she was "saved" by her aunt Gormlaith Gaunt. Even as a 5 year-old, Isolt would write in the book, the last thing she had left of her parents. This is where the diary begins, June 22nd, 1608.
