5. Wedding Bells
Y/N's POV
The day finally arrived for the wedding, but there was still the issue of how me, Axel and Kieran were going to get there. Nick was being collected by Mr Weasley to be Apparated back to the Burrow so he was fine, but the rest of us still had to figure out a way.
"Can't you just Apparate us?" Axel asked me.
I shrugged. "I could, but I don't know whether they'll have protection around the Burrow."
"I doubt it," Nick voiced, "since there'll be a lot of people."
"Then we'll Apparate." I said.
"Don't we have to change your identity?" Kieran asked. "Since well...everyone hates you."
I had filled everyone in on my story, most of it Nick already knew but there were parts that none of them knew. They were shocked at first, but I think they could understand how I really had no choice and that it was either I die or someone else dies and if I died, then I wouldn't be able to be with Hermione.
Before Nick had to go, I changed my identity, for the second time. My hair was dark brown but my eyes were still the same E/C ones. The only one who could ever distinguish my eyes was Hermione and that was what I wanted, I wanted her to know I was there.
As for my name...that was to be decided.
"Well," Axel said with a smirk as we all got changed, "don't we clean up well?"
"Not you Axel," Kieran laughed, "you still look like shit."
Axel hit Kieran playfully as Nick and I rolled our eyes.
"I'll see you guys later." Nick said with a wave as he left Axel's house in search for Mr Weasley.
This left me, Kieran and Axel together. I wasn't sure how it was going to work, I had never tried Apparating with more than one person before and I wasn't sure what my capabilities were. In the end, I decided to Apparate one at a time. First was Axel.
After saying goodbye to Axel's dad, who Axel had told that he was leaving to stay at Nick's, we all went outside to find a deserted area.
I focused on an area close to the Burrow and shut my eyes, I felt the same sensation that I felt every time I Apparated meaning that it was successful.
"Don't move," I told Axel, "and don't throw up." I added when I saw his nauseous expression.
I went back for Kieran and soon the three of us were just outside the Burrow.
"Seems like they went all out." Kieran muttered.
"This won't be like any Muggle wedding," I said before smirking, "prepare to be mind-blown."
The three of us all walked towards where the party seemed to be happening. Guests seemed to be pouring in left, right and centre so it was no problem for us to enter undetected.
However, even though we tried to keep a low profile, people were greeting us.
"I'm Luna Lovegood," a girl with blonde hair said with a smile, "and this is my friend Sam Auras."
Both of them smiled at us.
"I'm Axel."
"I'm Kieran."
"I'm Steven." I said, the first name coming to mind being the name of my deceased father.
Luna looked at me curiously. "You remind me of an old friend. It must be your eyes."
"What a coincidence." I said with a small laugh.
With that, Luna and her friend Sam walked off to find her father.
"Well...that was awkward." Axel said once they were out of sight.
"What if people find out we're not actually supposed to be here." Kieran asked, worriedly.
Axel shrugged. "Who cares, let's live a little."
"I need to go find some people," I told them, "will you guys be alright on your own?"
"No, we won't be. I'm going to burn the whole place down with a wand that I barely know how to use." Axel said sarcastically.
I rolled my eyes. "Kieran, keep an eye on him for me."
Kieran nodded and I walked off, trying to find Hermione. When I found her, I was filled with jealousy.
Right next to her was none other than Viktor Krum.
Who the hell invited him here?
I tried to make my way over but was interrupted by everyone going to their seats for the formal ceremony to begin. Sighing to myself, I trudged back over to where Axel and Kieran were.
"I have a question," Axel said, "what happened to you trying to get me a place at magic school?"
"It's called Hogwarts and I have bigger priorities," I said, "but...Nick can help you out."
Nick was walking towards us, with drinks in hand as he handed us all some Butterbeer.
"Help with what?" Nick asked.
"You can talk to the Weasleys and see if they or the Order can help Axel get into Hogwarts." I told him.
He looked apprehensive at first but then shrugged. "I'll see what I can do."
The formal ceremony began and we found ourselves near the back to avoid any unwanted attention.
"Ladies and gentlemen," a wizard said, "we are gathered here to celebrate the union of two faithful souls."
There was a pause as everyone looked and smiled at the bride and groom.
"Do you, William Arthur take Fleur Isabelle-"
"-she's hot." Axel commented, eyes staring straight at Fleur.
"Shut up Axel, we're missing the whole thing." Kieran said.
"Keep it in your pants why don't you?" Nick muttered.
I sighed. "It's like I'm your babysitter, looking after three overgrown babies."
That shut them up and we were able to hear the end of the ceremony.
"-then I declare you bonded for life."
Applause filled the area as everyone clapped and cheered for the new couple. The tufty-haired wizard waved his hand high over the heads of Bill andFleur and a shower of silver stars fell upon them, spiralling around their now entwined figures. Golden balloons above them burst and birds of paradise and tiny golden bells flew and floated above them.
The wizard waved his wand again, the canvas walls of the marquee vanished so that they stood beneath a canopy supported by golden poles, with a glorious view of the sunlit orchard and surrounding countryside. Next, a pool of molten gold spread from the centre of the tent to form a gleaming dance floor; the hovering chairs grouped themselves around small, white-clothed tables, which all floated gracefully back to earth round it, and the golden-jacketed hand trooped toward a podium.
"Holy crap..." Kieran and Axel both muttered, in awe of what was happening.
"Told you you'd be mind-blown." I said to them.
Nick had now left us to return to the Weasley family so the remaining three of us explored the canopy, looking for food.
Once we had collected some food, we made our way towards a table and prayed that no one would come interact with us. As we consumed our sandwiches and Butterbeer, which Axel and Kieran both enjoyed, the band began playing and we listened in to their music.
"The wizarding world seems really cool," Kieran commented, "nothing like I had read."
"What did you read? Witches being burned on stakes or something?" Axel snickered.
"Your research is mostly out of date, wizards today are just like any other Muggle, just with magical powers." I told Kieran.
As we continued chatting happily, we were interrupted by Nick, Hermione, Ron and a person who I assumed to be Harry. He was also disguised, he looked like another Weasley but it was pretty obvious that if he was hanging around Hermione and Ron that it would be Harry.
"Nick told us you were friends of his." Hermione said to us, I was barely paying attention to what she was saying since I was admiring her beauty.
"And apparently you're a wizard." Ron said plainly to Axel.
Axel glared at Nick who gave us an apologetic look.
"How come you don't go to Hogwarts?" Harry asked Axel.
Axel replied. "My dad doesn't like magic."
All of us were just here awkwardly, no one could seem to continue the conversation.
"So who are you two?" Ron asked demandingly.
"I'm Kieran," Kieran said, unsure of what else to say, he then got up, "I think I'm going to get another Butterbeer..."
"Steven." I muttered, watching Kieran walk away.
It was very obvious that this conversation couldn't be saved and the silence that surrounded all of us made me extremely uncomfortable.
"Let's dance." Hermione said to Nick, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
I looked away, trying to suppress the jealousy that I felt. Nick and Hermione left with Harry and Ron following close behind.
"You might want to come with us," Ron told Axel before they left, "my dad wants to talk to you."
I assumed that it would be something to do with Axel's magic so I let them all leave. This left me alone at the table, sipping quietly on my Butterbeer as I watched everything happen around me.
Kieran came back shortly after and spoke to me about this girl he had met. Her name was Summer and he seemed to be infatuated with her already.
"What's happening to me after this? Am I just going back to my family?"
I shrugged. "Probably."
"What if I don't want to?"
"Then it sucks to be you doesn't it?" I said. "Now if you don't mind, I'm going to find someone."
I finished my drink and made my way over to the dance floor and found Nick and Hermione dancing together.
"Do you mind if I cut in?" I asked Nick politely.
He looked at me and simply nodded before walking away, letting me dance with Hermione. As soon as our hands intertwined fireworks errupted inside of me. A song started playing in the background, 'A Thousand Years'.
Heart beats fast
Colours and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow
One step closer
"Y/N..." Hermione breathed, looking into my eyes.
I chuckled. "I'm glad you still remember me."
I have died every day waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
"Why are you here? Why are you dancing with me? You broke up with me remember?"
Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this
One step closer
"I guess I was feeling nostalgic," I shrugged, "this reminds me of the Yule Ball."
Darling, don't be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
We moved in sync and we both completed each other. This was a painful reminder of what I had lost and as much as I wanted to kiss her in front of everyone and be with her again, I knew that she was somewhat happy with Nick and I knew it wouldn't be safe for her.
Halfway through our dance, something large and silver came falling through the canopy over the dance floor. Graceful and gleaming, the lynx landed lightly in the middle of me and Hermione and the astonished dancers.
Then the Patronus's mouth opened wide and it spoke in the loud, deep, slow voice of Kingsley Shacklebolt.
"The Ministry has fallen. Scrimgeour is dead. They are coming."
