⇨Chapter 9⇦
After what felt like days of driving, but in reality was only hours, Cas finally made it to the next state north of them. He sighed softly and found the nearest motel and parked the car. "I'll be right back Sammy." He said softly before he got out and hurried to the office of the motel.
Sam sat in the car and looked through the window and up at the night sky. Pretty. He thought before his stomach rumbled softly. "Cas...hurry..." He whined to himself as he leaned back in his seat and slightly pouting. He always got like this when he was hungry.
After a few minutes, Cas finally came back with a motel key in his back pocket. He opened the backdoor and Sam looked back at him. "C'mon, Sammy. I got us a room."
"Food?"
"We can eat when we get in there," Cas replied as he grabbed their bags and one of the smaller bags with food from his house and closed the door.
Sam smiled and got out and started to follow Cas. He took the bags from Cas though, feeling bad that he was doing all the work. He watched as Cas opened the door and stepped in, holding the door open for him as he stepped through himself.
Cas took the bag with the food from him and went to the kitchenette. He unpacked it and warmed the spaghetti in the microwave while Sam sat down on the bed. The food finished warming and Cas put some on a plate for Sam and a cup of water and put it on the table. "Here S-" Sam was at the table before Cas could even finish talking. "Poor Bee...you were starving...I'm sorry." He kissed Sam's head and turned to get his bag from the bed. He dug out some clothes for himself and went to change.
When he came back out, he was wearing a pair of ripped jeans and a tight t-shirt. He looked at Sam who was fixing himself more food and smiled a little. "Sam, I gotta go out for a while, alright?"
Sam froze and looked at Cas with wide eyes. "Y-You're coming back?"
"Of course I am! I just want to go earn a little money for us. I promise I'll be back in a couple of hours."
Sam relaxed a little and nodded. He put his plate down and sat down.
"Sam, we need a couple of rules." Sam looked up at Cas and he continued to speak. "Don't open the door for anyone. Even if they knock and knock, don't. Stay quiet. No loud noises or anything. Don't draw attention to yourself. And finally, don't leave the room. The bad people might see you and try to take you."
Sam growled softly at the mention of the bad people but nodded.
"Alright..I'll be back soon. Oh! Here first." Cas pulled out the pill bottles and put them in Sam's bag. He took two out the bottle then handed them to Sam. "Here's your medicine." Sam took the pills and put them in his mouth, swallowing them down along with his water. "Good boy. I'll be back soon, Sammy. I promise. Be a good boy." Cas said finally before he left the room.
Sam looked down at his plate. "I'm always a good boy," he muttered before he started to eat again.
