The following information will help you build your character in order to give them the best chance of survival in the games. Please read the entire chapter before submitting your cat's form on the next page.

~~ STRATEGIES ~~

There are two types of strategies: offensive and defensive. You will have to choose if your cat's personality and skills will make them an offensive player or a defensive player in the games.

★ OFFENSIVE

→ More aggressive and likely to attack. They have higher chances to take part in the Bloodbath, track and chase down other tributes, and engage in combat.

★ DEFENSIVE

→ More cautious and likely to avoid conflict. They have higher chances of fleeing from the Bloodbath, running away from other tributes, and setting traps instead of tracking.

**Note: strategy is not a clear-cut "either you fight or you run." It just increases your chances of doing one over the other.

~~ SKILLS ~~

Skills are your cat's individualized strengths and weaknesses. You have to choose 2 of each from the following list, and your strengths cannot be the same as your weaknesses.

→ Fighting Power
→ Fighting Skill
→ Speed
→ Intelligence
→ Tracking
→ Hunting
→ Herb Knowledge
→ Resilience

★ FIGHTING POWER
The raw strength to overpower an opponent in battle.
- as a strength, this increases your chances of winning a fight.
- as a weakness, this decreases your chances of winning a fight.

★ FIGHTING SKILL
The skill to use battle moves and the accuracy to land hits against an opponent in battle.
- same effects as fighting power (this allows you to double up on fighting).

★ SPEED
How fast a tribute can travel.
- as a strength, this allows you to move longer distances when travelling and increases your chances of being able to run away from others or catch a tribute you are chasing.
- as a weakness, you will move shorter distances when travelling. You are also less likely to escape when being chased, or catch a tribute you are chasing.

★ INTELLIGENCE
The sense to take care of unmet needs, use strengths/weaknesses to your advantage, and set traps.
- as a strength, you are able to set Tribute Traps and Prey Traps. You are also more likely to use a Special Action to take care of your needs.
- as a weakness, you're more likely to ignore your needs and use actions that exploit your weaknesses instead of your strengths.

★ TRACKING
The ability to track down other tributes and to sneak attack them. Successfully encountering another tribute while tracking will automatically decrease your victim's HP by 1 before a fight even begins.
- as a strength, you have increased chances of encountering another tribute while tracking and you will try to do so more often.
- as a weakness, you will be unable to track down other tributes.

★ HUNTING
The ability to catch prey to eat.
- as a strength, you have more chances of catching prey while hunting and can hunt bigger prey.
- as a weakness, you're less likely to catch prey while hunting, and can only catch small prey.

★ HERB KNOWLEDGE
The knowledge of medicinal herbs, where to find them, and how to use them.
- as a strength, you are more likely to find medicinal herbs while exploring and can use them to heal your injuries.
- as a weakness, you have less chances of finding medicine, and probably won't know how to use them.

★ RESILIENCE
The ability to survive despite injury and weakness.
- as a strength, you have 1 extra health and condition bar.
- as a weakness, you have 1 less health and condition bar.

Remember, of the 8 skills, you must have 2 strengths and 2 weaknesses. In the rest, your cat will be average. Choose wisely! When used together, some strengths can be a powerful combo, while some two weaknesses put together can be the recipe for your tribute's death.

For example, having both Fighting Skill and Fighting Power as strengths will make your cat almost unbeatable in battle, but if he's too slow and can't track down any tributes, he might never get to fight anyway -- or he won't have any strengths to help him with basic survival, and could starve to death. Or, if you have a Hunting weakness, consider using Intelligenge as a strength so they can use Prey Traps. Also, if your cat is defensive, it could be disastrous if you're too slow to run away.

What you choose will decide your tribute's fate. Choose wisely.
