Chapter Three- Tests
Maddie POV
Wolfie started hooking me up to something. There were a bunch of wires connected all over my body, and we were in a small room that had black foam walls to keep me from hurting myself if I accidentally ran into a wall, which was more than likely.
"What do all the wires do?" I asked Wolfie. Her silver ears perked up and she looked up at my eyes.
"They help to get as accurate of a signal as possible," she replied. She looked away and grabbed another wire, sticking this one to my forehead.
"Why do you need all these wires for training?" I asked.
"This isn't training. This is a test. It's what determined where you'd be best placed, what weapons you need, at cetera," Wolfie said. She stuck on last one between my shoulder blades and started to walk out of the room.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"I'm going to watch your progress. I'll just be in the lounge," Wolfie told me. She gave me a smile before exiting the room, nearly smashing her own tail in the door.
I looked forwards, taking a deep breath as I prepared myself for whatever might happen. I closed my eyes for a minute to try and relax more. Wolfie never explained to me what the test would be like, so I had no idea what to expect.
I opened my eyes to see something coming into view. It seemed like some sort of place I had visited before, but not quite.
As I moved my head to get a better look at my surroundings, I saw a familiar face. One that I had never met in real life, though.
In front of me was Harry Potter.
3rd POV
Wolfie watched as Maddie battled a monster. It was interesting to see what scenarios her mind had come up with. She was battling a huge robotic snake with wings.
Wolfie looked around the lounge to see that the few people who had been around before had all left without her noticing, but it was fine. She got headphones from behind the counter and walked back to the computer which was previously in her lap.
She tapped her foot to the music as she watched Maddie. The scene quickly changed to her by a beach. She seemed a little confused as to why she would go from fighting a monster to being at the beach, but she slowly turned around when she heard a gigantic crow cawwing.
Wolfie jumped as she felt a shoulder tap her shoulder. She hung her headphones around her neck and looked up to the person.
"Hello, November," Wolfie said, laughing a bit nervously at November's annoyed expression. November's frown turned to a smile and she started laughing, confusing the poor wolf hybrid.
November waited a minute to speak, taking deep breaths as she calmed down from her laughing fit. "You don't really think I would be mad at you, do you?" she asked.
Wolfie realised that what November had said was true, and that she would never get mad at her, and Wolfie started laughing too. "I guess that was a little stupid, huh?" Wolfie said.
"Anyways," November said, changing the subject. "The HG needs you."
"What for?" Wolfie asked.
November glanced around the room even though nobody was in there. She spotted a surveillance camera in the corner and leaned in to whisper to Wolfie, "The Shadow Cloak has gone missing."
Wolfie's eyes went wide and she looked at her friend, silently asking if it was true. November gave a small nod.
"But-" Wolfie began, about to resist.
"We have to go," November said.
"But Maddie!" Wolfie said. She glanced down to see that Maddie only had a few minutes left on the test.
"The girl can wait! She's not as important," November argued.
"She supposedly has the power to control electronics devices! She is important if we want to stop... them," Wolfie said, her voice shrinking to a whisper as she said the last word. She brushed a few stray strands of hair away from her brown eyes, which were starting to gather tears.
"Wolfie, if they get the Shadow Cloak, which is very damn possible, mind you, even she wouldn't be able to save us," November said.
Wolfie looked up at the computer, taking off her headphones which she didn't realise were still playing music and she moved the laptop off of her lap. She stood up, looking November straight in the eye.
"Let's go."
I'm gonna be honest. I 100% forgot about this story. ANYWAYS
