Danielle Wilde - Task Two

It's been days after the murder of Beth Rose and everyone is on high alert here at Carter Hollow. The school staff thought it would be a good idea to have officers everywhere on the look out for anything suspicious or in their case.. Anyone suspicious.

In my opinion it's only making the students more stressed out then we already are. With the homework, after school sports, the murders, and now this, I don't think it could get much worse.

I'm at the point of ripping my hair out, everywhere I go their is an officer watching my every move. This school day is passing by so slow I'm almost debating on skipping, which I never do, but I carry on with my day grumpily knowing my dad wouldn't be impressed with me skipping, not after the fight I got into.

The final bell finally rings, which was music to my ears.

Rushing out of the school with my school bag and books in hand I go up to my dorm room skipping two stairs at a time and rush through my door slamming it shut before carelessly crashing down onto my bed sighing deeply while rubbing my temples.

"When will the torture end?" I ask aloud.

Behind my dorm door their is an escort at each end of the hallway. So I know I can't do anything fun.

I groan and roll off my bed doing the homework I had gotten.

I lost track of time and did all my homework their was to do for this week. The time now read 8:38. Knowing that in almost an hour it'll be room check I curse under my breath for letting my afternoon and evening slip by me, but then I get an idea.

I know I could get into trouble, but that's only if I got caught. I decide to put myself up for the challenge. I quickly change into some black soccer shorts, a purple Adidas shirt while slipping on a thing grey Hollister pullover. I pull on a pair of black soccer socks that end about three inches under my knee and tie up my green and orange Nike cleats.

I take a deep breath knowing what could happen if I get caught, but my excitement to go and play some soccer is greater than my fear of getting caught. I haven't actually been on a soccer field for awhile and I think it's just what I need. I throw my hair up into a high ponytail and I'm ready to go.

I grab my soccer ball and open my window, knowing the officers won't let me out at this time I have to take hard way out. My dorm room is on the second floor, but to my luck there was a tree outside my window. I throw my soccer ball down and leap into the tree where the thicker branches are. I end up with a few scraps and cuts that sting, but I don't care. I carefully make my way down and jump the small distance left.

Quickly, I pick up my soccer ball an head to the soccer field in a fast jog letting the wind blow across my face.

Once I reach the field I can't help but feel like this is where I belong. I remember the first time I kicked a soccer ball.  I was seven and my dad was teaching me the basics on how to kick properly. He was in nets and he told me to kick as hard as I can. I did and I ended up hitting him where the sun don't shine. From then on I trained everyday with my dad and with the best of the best coaches. I played on the highest level teams with girls all older then me. At my old school I was the star player, my first year here I was the star player and I plan on being it again. My dream is soccer and I don't really know what else I have in for my future if soccer doesn't work out, but it's something I'll face if that time ever comes.

Not thinking about anything else I let my feet do the talking. Working on some foot skills and then some shooting exercises, I'm dead tired by the end with sweat dripping down my forehead.

I check the time and see that it's 9:41. I curse under my breath, but that's not the worst. I hear an officer jogging my way yelling out, "Who's there? You're supposed to be in your dorm!"

With that, I quickly grab my ball and take off. I sprint as fast as I can even though my legs are screaming against it, I only have four minutes until room check and if I'm not back they'll know it was me who was out past curfew.

Getting to my dorm window which is wide open, I try and throw my ball through the open window but miss. I groan and try again, it takes me another two tries before I finally get it through. I climb up the tree as fast as I can, getting scratched and cut everywhere in the process. Finally reaching my window level, I leap and fall through my window not so gracefully and end up hitting my knee against the window edge hard. I whimper in pain and crawl through and quickly get up. I shut my window and I hear my door knob start turning and I panic.

Shutting the lights I leap into bed and cover myself with the blankets holding my uneven breath.

"Room check!" I hear a husky voice say, before pausing and looking around. "All clear." He finishes and closes my door.

I sigh out in relief feeling my heart rate racing and my breath comes out in short uneven gasps.

I kick off my cleats and take my socks off leaving everything else on, not bothered to change.

I curl back under the blankets with an amused expression on my face and breathing under control.

I couldn't help but giggle knowing it was quite the adventure and soon fall into a deep sleep.
