Welcome to the World Meeting
I enter the huge building and immediately the doorman greets me.
"Hello, and welcome to Snowy Days inn. Do you have a room booked?"
"I'm actually here for the World Meeting. Where do I go?"
"Take a left here" he points to the hallway, "and it's the first door on your right."
"Thank you, have a nice day!" I quickly say before speeding off in the direction he told me to go.
I slow down as I approach the room, because I notice the countries are arguing with one another.
"Everyone calm down! We are about to meet a country that has been in isolation for a really long time. We need to make sure she has a nice first greeting! We want to make good first impressions, right?" I hear a voice say. The majority of the room lowers their voices.
"Germany! Do you think she likes pasta?" I hear a tiny voice say. I hear Germany sigh and say, "Maybe, Italy"
"I should be the *omnomnom* one to greet her! I'm the best at saying *shlurp* hello to people! I'm America, and I am the best at everything!" I hear the so called America say. I'm confused why he is eating burgers, fries and drinking soda in the middle of a meeting, early in the morning. The sign says no food or drinks. Wait.. is there even a McDonald's near here?
I'm still standing outside the room, in the hallway. I guess standing here and listening for a few more seconds won't hurt. I need to learn more about all my new friends anyway.
"I heard that she is a very beautiful young lady" I hear someone say. My face turns slightly pink at the mention of me being called a 'beautiful young lady.' His French accent is REALLY obvious, and I'm guessing he is France. Who else would POSSIBLY have a French accent in this room?
I feel a light tap on my shoulder!
"Zdravstvuyte!" Says the man standing behind me. He startles me. This man is very tall, with pale skin. He has a tan coat on with a scarf. He has bright violet eyes. ("Hello")
I recognize the language immediately. I was taught Russian as a child. Instead of replying back hello in ANY LANGUAGE, I try to say 'Good Morning' and 'Who Are You' at the same time, while stuttering. The end result was a horrific: "Whood Arm Ying?" I quickly realize my mistake and shake my head in embarrassment. "I mean Good Morning"
"You are the new country we're meeting today, Да?"
"Uhm, yes." I realize I must look really weird listening in on the countries like that.
"I'll walk you in and let you introduce yourself." He offers.
"Thanks" I say awkwardly. I'm pretty sure he feels my awkwardness. He comforts me by placing his hand on my shoulder and saying, "Don't worry. I'm sure all the other nations will love you! I'm Russia, by the way, or Ivan Braginski. You can call me however you like. " He smiles.
"I'm (country name), but you can call me (your name)"
He walks me in, and almost instantly all eyes are on me.
"This is-" Russia gets cut off by Germany.
"Welcome! You must be the new country we're meeting. I'm Germany, or Ludwig Beilschmidt. And you are?"
I see Russia slowly heading toward his seat. I guess he won't be the one to introduce me to everyone.
"I am (c/n), or (y/n)."
"You'll soon get a chance to meet everyone here. We should get this meeting started. It's already 10:03" Germany announces.
I find an empty seat and introduce myself to the people sitting next to me. I'm sitting next to the Baltic states; Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Russia is sitting across from me, and Poland has tagged along to be with Lithuania.
Now the meeting begins
