Time travel

-your POV-

I was running around the halls of Erebor with my sister. "Sis, come there's no way out of here!" My sister shouted after me as I stopped, turning around to face the oncoming dragon. I turned around to look at her, a sorrowful look on my face. "I have to at least try to get him back. He's my childhood friend, I can't watch him die." I sobbed and started walking towards the fire-breathing dragon.

"Go with the dwarves, they will be safe with you," I said, determined to get my childhood friend back. My sister called out, with no success. I could hear her sigh and leaving me alone to face him.

Soon I heard the pillars crumble and the bridges shake under his claws. There he came, in all his greatness, though he was not as great as he was before. Old age had caught up with him. "Smaug!" I called. My voice echo over the empty halls.

"Who dares?" He retorted, lowering his head so he could see me more clearly. I sighed before transforming into a great black dragon. My black horns crowning my big head as my eyes lighted with purple flames.

Smaug gasped and stepped a step back, his eyes still wide. "T-the back dragon!" He spluttered. I gave a small smile but it faded quickly. "Why are you here?" Tears stung my eyes as I said my reply.

"Really? You don't remember? You were my childhood friend, Smaug. We used to play in the caves of our home, chasing each other while our parents were outside, hunting." More sadness pulled through my voice as I uttered something he had promised me.

"I will never forget you, black diamond. You said. You promised me.." anger was now replacing my other sad tone. I stared at him with flaming eyes. Full of sorrow, betrayal, heartbreak. That's when I couldn't hear it anymore.

I felt fire welling up my throat, my chest glowing purple with fire. I could see Smaug's scared expression. My eyes softened as I swallowed my fire. "But I will be willing to forgive you IF you promise to return to your land."

Smaug seemed to be thinking, lowering his head in the process. "I swear to serve the black dragon to my life leave me." I was taken back by his answer but a smile played across my lips.

"A friend does not need to bow before me, I order you to return home and never set a claw inside this mountain again" my words were enough. Soon Smaug sprinted against the gate. As soon I could hear his wings, I shifted back to my elven form.

"Oh thank the Valar! You're alive!" I heard Bilbo shout as I made my way over to where they were hiding. I chuckled and patted Bilbo on his back. Then I turned to thorin.

"My quest here is done," I said and lowered my head in my hand. Soon enough, a swirl of stars appeared around me as I looked one last time upon the company of Thorin Oakenshield. I knew I could not change his fate so I would kit try either. I had changed Smaug's and that was enough.

But instead of sending me right back to Lothlorien, it teleported me to a tent. I stumbled slightly as I hit the hard ground. The smell of Mirkwood filled my nostrils as a voice brought me out of my thoughts.

"And who may you be?" A deep voice sounded from behind me. I turned around and saw The Elvenking, Thranduil. "My name is Aurora, my lord" I answer, getting straight to the point, I tilted my head and said. "I believe the battle will begin soon, my lord. I would not dwell  here longer and hinder you." I said as I made my way to the doors of the tent.

But before I could set any foot on the snowy ground, I was Ranked back inside. "I will not let a so fair lady wander in these lands for now. You should stay and wait until the battle is over" a deep voice whispered in my ear.

A shiver runs down my spine as the hand loosens on my wrist. I turn around to still see the woods, land king. I nod my head and sit down in a corner against the tent draping.

"Is the archers in position?" The king asked. My eyes flowed everything that happened, inside and outside the tent. A wizard then comes barging in. I recognize him immediately. Gandalf.

I won't make a statement for myself, not yet. When Thranduil marches to the mountain, I will follow. I will take the form of a big black horse. During the time I and Gandalf visited Lothlorien, lady Galadriel was so kind to learn me shapeshifting. I could shift to 3 different animals, such as a wolf, horse, and a great dragon. All my forms were back.

-later that night-

I was standing beside Thranduil and his great elk. Bard of Lake-town was on his other side in a white horse. Both their steeds were a little tense around me, maybe because I was a mare and they were stallions.

Suddenly, an arrow hit the ground before the hooves of the elk. We all turn our heads up and see Thorin holding a bow with an arrow knocked in it. "I will put the next one between your eyes," Thorin says and earns cheers from the dwarves behind him.

I snort and am about it tread forward when I reconsider and decided to wait and see what will happen next. I can't remember the last time of the battle of the five armies. I Think I got seconds in the end.

I look up at Thranduil to see his reaction. He seems unfazed. "We have come to tell you... payment of your debt has been offered and accepted." Thranduil states, looking quite prideful, just as he used to.

Thorin gets a questionable look on his face and says "What payment? I gave you nothing. You have nothing." Bard then reached for the Arken stone in his jacket and takes it out.

"We have this." He says. Thorin's face grows dark in anger and disbelief. "They have the Arkenstone." Kili says "Thieves!" He shouts. I then decide it's my time to play now.

"They're not thieves, my dear kili. Not the hobbit that found it either. You have changed Thorin. I don't remember much of our first meet but I know the Dwarf I met... would never have gone back on his word." The company stared at me in wonder.

"Aurora? Is that you?" Thorin's voice trembled with uncertainty. I nod my big head and twitch my ears. "That's me alright. Now, come down Bilbo before Thorin does something he's gonna regret." Bilbo does as I say and started climbing down the Stoney gate.

"Here, here young one" I coo as Bilbo lean against my chest. I bow my head and nuzel him gently. "You have a way with people, Aurora" Thranduil stated, impressed by how I handled Thorin. I nodded. I knew this would only save Bilbo from thorins rage and not save us all from the battle.

"I did what I could, I will now take my leave with the hobbit. I will not see him be splattered in blood" Thranduil nods and I back my head down so Bilbo can climb on my back. I then trotted to the tent we were staying in.
