Remember when I said that I was going to face any dangers and protect my pack? In this case, maybe I should've just shut up and stayed home like Mykel wanted me to.

I didn't like the position that I was in.

I didn't like the aura in the room amongst everyone who was standing around us.

And I certainly didn't like the way Mykel's distant uncle was staring at us with a deadly expression on his face. My palms were sweaty as I tried my best to remain still in my seat and not move too much.

Upon arriving at the pack house, everyone was already waiting for us to make an appearance. Clearly no one's expression was readable as we all followed Mykel to the lounge room. The air turned heavy as we all looked at the man who was seated across from Mykel's dad. Ryder didn't look anything at this point and his face held no emotions.

I didn't really understand why he was here nor why everyone of our pack members including his was surrounding us as if a war was about to go down. I didn't even understand why we were just seated not saying anything as if we were communicating through our minds. The silence was deadly and if something was about to go down, it will be only be a matter of time.

"Why are you here Levi?", Ryder was the first to speak, breaking the uncomfortable silence.

"I don't see anything wrong with visiting my distant brother. You should be happy to see me", Levi replied but his voice held no sort of emotion whatsoever. I glanced at Mykel who hasn't taken his eyes off Levi for a second. There was tension between all three of them that didn't arise just now. They had a past and history together which seemed to not have been good.

I squeezed his hand and he finally broke his gaze to look at me. He half smiled before reaching out and brushing some of my hair from my face. After he pulled away my eyes scanned the room. Our pack was on the left and Levi's was on the right. If he and Ryder were brothers, he should've been a part of this pack and not have his own right?.

But as I said, they had a dark past and maybe that's why they were distant in the first place. I would never pry into their past because focusing on that won't get me anywhere. Still I was curious to find out what happened between them.

"You've always been thoughtless Levi. There's no reason for me to be happy to see you. I would actually rather not to see you at all", Ryder replied coldly as he sat back and crossed his legs.

Levi didn't even react to his statement. He didn't change his expressions or shift on the couch. He had a strong dominance to him just like Mykel but he was the only one I would submit to. When he's around my knees gets weak and my body heats up to the point that I crave his touch more than anything. I bit my lip as I tried to stop my mind from wandering any further.

I failed miserably as images of his naked chest flashed in my mind. His tattoos were so sexy. This was the wrong time to have these thoughts but I couldn't help it. My mind had no control over these thoughts and now they were running wild.

'I can smell your arousal Lina'

My head snapped around to look at Mykel who was already staring at me. I didn't want to be aroused but I couldn't help it. My body felt needy and all I wanted to do was climb on top of Mykel and allow him to do all sorts of things to me.

'I'm sorry, I can't help it'

I replied to him as my leg started shaking. I was eager to be touched somehow, anyhow!. Levi's attention was now secured on me as I tried not to squirm under his gaze.

"You must be Mykel's Luna. I didn't get to properly introduce myself, I'm Leville Knight. You're quite beautiful, I wouldn't think twice about taking you away and making you mine."

For a second I thought my ears were playing tricks on me. My lips parted slightly as I looked at Mykel who was already standing and growling at Levi. I stood up to calm him down but our pack was now copying his actions. Before you know it the entire room was filled with growls and I was afraid of what would happen next.

"SHE'S MINE! Don't fuck with me Levi. If you want to leave here in one piece I suggest you get out!."

Mykel's eyes were now fully black and I knew his wolf has taken over. In a split second everyone was now standing including Levi. His jaw was clenched tightly to the point that I'm afraid it would break any second.

"Don't mind him son, he's just trying to get under your skin. That's how he's always been. Manipulative and untrustworthy. You don't deserve to be in my presence and that's why you are not a part of my pack. People like you should rot in hell!", Ryder spat at Levi who has now turned his attention to him.

"Fuck you Ryder. It's all fun and games until I have your pack at the mercy of my hands. If I was you I would watch your back, you never know what can happen."

What Levi said had the entire room in a growling war zone. Fangs and claws were present. Some of the pack members have already transformed into their wolf forms just waiting on the signal to attack. I didn't want a war to take place.

"Are you threatening me uncle?", Mykel growled darkly. He looked murderous and I didn't doubt he wanted to actually murder Levi.

"Don't worry about that my dear nephew, time will tell."

That was his last words before he turned and walked away. His pack following after but not before barring their teeth at us. Why couldn't we catch a break? Something always happens that threatens our lives and our people. I reached out and touched Mykel's hand. It was cold but I didn't let go.

"Alpha, what do we do now?", Dezin stepped up and asked. I looked at everyone who was in the room and read their expressions. Some were still angry but others had fear in their eyes.

"Double the border patrol, scratch that, triple it. He's NOT allowed back on our lands and if he does set foot here again, there will be hell to pay. We won't stand down and we definitely won't cower away. Fuck Levi if he thinks he's going to take over my pack. He's really pathetic", was Mykel's response still not acknowledging my hand on his. My heart shrunk a bit but this was not the time to get emotional. He wasn't in control and that was something I need to understand.

"Yes Alpha", Dezin responded before he turned to the other pack members. I watched as they started to leave the room one by one until it was only me, Mykel and Ryder present. I bit my lip harshly at Mykel who was just staring at the wall ahead. His eyes were still pitch black and I was starting to worry.

"I'll be in my office, I have to make a few calls", Ryder said before leaving the lounge room. I closed the space between Mykel and I as I wrapped my arms around his torso. I buried my head in his chest hoping that my scent would somehow calm him down.

"Mykel, you're scaring me", I whispered as I gazed up at him. I sighed in relief when I saw his eyes going back to their normal colour. His hands reached out and gripped my waist pulling me impossibly closer to him.

"I'm so angry right now Lina, I wanted to rip his fucking head off!", he retorted loudly before resting his head against mine. I rubbed his arms trying my best to soothe him.

"What does he want with our pack? I could sense that you all had a terrible past. You all hate each other but why? Aren't family suppose to support and protect each other?", I asked calmy before pulling my head away to stare at him.

"I have two uncles, Malik and Leville. My dad was the best amongst the three that's why he was chosen to be the Alpha. It didn't matter who was the oldest, the moon gods and goddesses chose him. From what my dad talked about, his brothers didn't favour him and they all retaliated. Malik chose to leave the pack and so did Levi. My dad's parents didn't stop them as they had no good intentions. Now, they both run their own packs but they will never be Alphas. They both want to take this pack and make it theirs and they will do anything to make that happen. We won't let that happen. If they want a fight, we'll be ready for them", he answered as he looked down at me.

I understood everything clearly now. This was all happening because of jealousy. We will be facing a war against Mykel's own flesh and blood. This was too heart-wrenching. All I could hope for was that in the end things will be alright and everyone will be safe.
