Ch. 57

Luna

Colton mentioned he'd be in Dansville for the weekend. Of course, he asked me to join him.

"Luna, come with me," he pleaded, his eyes filled with hope. "It would be great to have you there."

But I just shook my head with a forced smile. "Colton, we can't be seen together just yet. It's not a good idea. We got to wait a few more weeks."

He got disappointed, but still agreed. "It's okay, I understand. We have to wait."

The weekend went by, and I tried to stay occupied, but I couldn't stop thinking about what Colton might be up to. So, on Monday morning, I was scrolling through the internet when I saw this article that really caught my attention. Colton was in a photo with a gorgeous woman and the mayor of Dansville. My heart dropped when I saw that the gorgeous woman was Hannah Fuller.

I was so mad and jealous, but I kept my cool. I needed to talk to Colton and hear what he had to say. That night, I went to his penthouse. My mind was racing with a mix of emotions.

"Hey Luna," Colton greeted me with a warm hug and lingering kisses. "How was your weekend?"

I grinned, pretending everything was fine. "It was okay. Yours seemed... interesting."

His eyebrows rose. "What do you mean?"

"Oh, you know," I said, with a sarcastic tone. "I came across an article online. You were getting pretty cozy with a stunning woman. Hannah Fuller, right? The one you owe a date to?"

He heaved a deep sigh, running a hand through his hair.

"Luna, it's not what you think. Hannah is the mayor's stepdaughter, and she's helping me with my projects in Dansville. She's into medical missions, educational support, training, and livelihood programs. We share the same advocacy. There's nothing going on between us. I swear, we're just friends."

I crossed my arms, trying to stay calm. "Oh, really? Just friends? You guys seemed like quite the dynamic duo in the pictures. How great that you share the same... advocacy."

Colton moved closer, looking really serious. "Please trust me. There's nothing going on between Hannah and me. You're the one I care about."

I held my breath, trying not to lose it. "Sure, whatever. It's just uncomfortable for me to watch you and Hannah working closely together."

He held my hands. "Luna, you're the only one I want. I need you to trust me."

I looked into his eyes and saw how sincere he was. Even though I was jealous, I had to trust him. I was like, "Fine," with a sarcastic tone. "I'll take your word for it."

He pulled me in for a hug, wrapping his arms around me. "Thanks, Luna. You're the one I want to be with."

While we were hugging, I had lingering thoughts. I wished I could stop being jealous and trust him. But it was gonna be a real challenge, especially with Hannah Fuller in the picture.

Colton

When I explained to Luna about Hannah Fuller, she was just putting on a front with her calmness and sarcastic remarks. She couldn't deceive me; I knew she was simmering inside. I wanted her to know I'd never betray her trust like her ex did.

"Luna," I said softly, holding her close, "I understand why you're upset. But I need you to trust me. I would never betray you."

She looked up at me, her eyes softening a bit. "I'm trying, Colton. It's just... hard."

"I know. But I'm here for you, always."

We had a sweet moment, and I could feel some of the tension between us fading away.

I told my butler to take the night off, so it was just me and Luna in the penthouse. We all cooked our dinner together, and it was delicious. We had an amazing time cracking jokes and chatting about everything.

After dinner, things got steamy, and we started making love in the living room. Just when things were getting intense, the doorbell had to ring.

We totally froze and just stared at each other, wondering.

"Who could that be?" Luna whispered.

"I do not know," I said, instantly pulling on my pants. "Hide in the bedroom. I'll handle this."

She grabbed her clothes and rushed to my bedroom while I went to open the door. You won't believe who showed up - Sebastian and Sweet!

"Hey, Colton!" Sebastian said cheerfully. "We were in the neighborhood and thought we'd drop by."

I grinned, pretending to be relaxed. "Oh, hi! Wow, what a surprise! Come on in."

When they entered the living room, they saw the two glasses of wine on the coffee table right away. Sweet gave a questioning look.

"Were you having a date, Colton?" she asked, a teasing smile on her lips.

"No, no," I blurted. "Just, uh, enjoying a quiet evening. Alone."

Sebastian looked at the glasses and then at me, his expression skeptical. "Two glasses, huh? You must have been really thirsty."

I chuckled nervously. "Yeah, I guess so. You know, a long day."

Sweet was all suspicious, wandering around the room. "And what's up with the music? Romantic playlist for one?"

I just shrugged, trying to play it cool. "I like to relax with some pleasant tunes."

Sebastian and Sweet gave each other looks, clearly not believing it. "No date, huh?" Sebastian asked, leaning against the couch.

"Nope." I shook my head. "Just me and my... wine."

Sweet casually went to the kitchen and checked it out. "And you made dinner for... yourself?"

I said, "Yeah," and I could feel the sweat forming on my brow. "I felt like pampering myself a little."

Sebastian crossed his arms and gave me a look, like he knew something. "Dude, you suck at lying."

I laughed nervously. "Seriously, guys, it's just me here."

Sweet looked at Sebastian, mischief shining in her eyes. "What do you think, Seb? Should we believe him?"

Sebastian was like, "Nah. He's totally hiding something."

I let out a sigh and ran my hand through my hair. "Sure, I give up. I was on a date. But it's super private, so please don't go telling everyone."

Sweet chuckled. "Don't worry, we won't spill the beans. But give us the details later."

Sebastian nodded, laughing. "Yeah. We want to hear all the juicy details."

I rolled my eyes, glad they were letting it go. "Alright, alright. Now, can I get you guys anything?"

Sweet shook her head. "Nah, we're good. Just wanted to see how you're doing. We'll let you get back to your... private evening."

As they walked out, I closed the door and breathed a sigh of relief. I went back to the bedroom and found Luna hiding there.

"You can come out now," I said, smiling at her.

She came out, looking both amused and frustrated. "Phew, that was a close one. But you handled that pretty well."

"Thanks," I said, giving her a hug. "Those two are super sneaky, ya know? Coming here with no warning."

"What did they want?"

"Nothing. They just said that they were in the neighborhood. Impossible, right?" I shook my head. "They saw the wine glasses and realized I'm on a date."

"So they left."

"That's right."

I chuckled and gently lifted her chin to meet my eyes. "I couldn't stop thinking about you and what we were doing before we got interrupted."

She beamed. Her arms wrapped around my shoulders. "Yeah, before the interruption."

"Let's carry on, shall we?" I teased, my lips grazing her ear. "You do not know how hard it was to keep a straight face with them here, knowing you were hiding in the bedroom."

She shivered a bit, her breath hitched. "Colton..."

I chuckled, planting kisses on her neck. "You drive me crazy, Luna. The way you look at me, the way you laugh, everything about you is so special."

She made a soft moan, and I pulled back a bit to gaze into her eyes. "You're irresistible, you know that?"

She bit her lip, trying to hide her smile. "So are you."

I ran my hands along her sides, loving how her body reacted to my touch.

Her breath caught, and she looked at me with wide eyes. "Colton..."

"Yes?" I asked, my voice low and teasing. "What is it, babe?"

"You're making me crazy," she whispered softly.

"Great," I said, pulling her in tighter. "Because you make me crazy every single day. I think about you all the time, Luna. About how you feel, how you taste..."

She giggled a little, trying to hold it together. "You're impossible."

"Maybe," I said, grinning. "But you love it, don't you?"

She nodded, her eyes filled with a burning desire. "Yeah, I do."

I kissed her deeply, expressing all the longing I had for her. When we finally let go, we were both out of breath.

"Colton," she said, her voice shaky. "I want you."

"You have me, Luna. Always." I said, brushing a strand of hair out of her face.

We kissed again, and it was even more intense than before. I scooped her up and took her to the bedroom, with our laughter and whispers everywhere. While putting her on the bed, I couldn't resist teasing her one last time.

"You know, Luna," I said, with a playful tone. "You're pretty irresistible when you're like this."

She giggled, bringing me closer. "Stop talking and just kiss me, Colton."

I did what she asked, and from then on, it was just the two of us, lost in our own world of passion and love. With her in my arms, I couldn't help but be grateful for every moment we had, knowing we were just getting started.
