Chapter 3
Ye Who Enter Here
Bellamy Voice Over: "We were born in space. They told us the ground was uninhabitable, but they were wrong, and we've been fighting for our lives since the moment we landed. Some of us have been broken by it, but most of us are still here, searching for other survivors from the Ark, trying to build something real and lasting out of the wilderness... a home. Our leaders believe that to survive, we need to make peace with the Grounders, but peace is a foreign concept here."
----
Beth's POV
Polis
I stood in the throne room with the Ambassadors from the Klan's, debating on whether or not I wanted to go talk to Clarke. Lexa was in there now, talking with the Klan's.
"Rise gon your Heda." Titus says as Lexa walks in. We all bow, besides the Ice Nation Ambassador.
"Azgeda will bow fou your Heda." Titus demands, seeing the man not bowing.
"Heda beda bow fou Azgeda. Osir know nou kom make treaties kom our enemies." The man says in Trigedasleng.
"The Heda bows gon no won." Titus says to him.
"Stand down, Titus." Lexa tells him. Titus stands down. "Ambassador." Lexa says
"Em even prefers the enemies sleng. Em has won gon em as her second." The man says, sending me a glare. I place a hand on my sword, getting ready to pull it out if needed.
"And you will use it, too, in honor of our guests this evening." Lexa tells him. "Now sit. We have more important matters to discuss."
Yes, we do." The man says. "For example, why is Wanheda still alive? If this is your weakness again, Azgeda will happily step in."
"Is that why your army has moved so close to Polis because you believe the Commander is weak?"
"Oh, those are just military exercises." The man answers.
"Exercises? You crossed the border into Trikru land, an army within striking distance of our beloved capital." Indra says to him from her spot standing next to me.
"A mistake that was quickly rectified, as you well know."
"The Ice Queen doesn't make mistakes. She makes threats." Titus says.
"There's no need to argue about this again." Lexa tells them. "Please come join me. Let us speak in private." Lexa says to the man. I give her a look, my hand still on my sword. She nods slightly at me, causing me to remove the grip from my sword. "I have a message for Queen Nia." They walk to the balcony.
"And I'll happily deliver..." The man says.
My eyes slightly widen as Lexa kicks him off the balcony leaving the Ice Nation ambassador falling to his death, screaming. I smirk slightly. "Would anyone else care to question my decisions?" No one answers her. "Good. Then let's begin."
---------
"How is Lincoln?" Lexa asks, later that night as she walks up to me as I sat in the room I had been given for when I am here.
I sigh "He's okay. He's trying to fit in at Arkadia but people there, they're assholes. Granted they haven't kicked him out yet and put a kill order on him."
Lexa gives me a look and sighs. "Beth-"
"I know. He betrayed you. For me. I'm sorry." I say to her.
She nods. "Have you ever talked about a family with him?" She asks. I give her a confused look. She smiles lightly, you could hardly see it.
"Not much. We both want to, but not now. Not while we're dealing with all of this." I explain to her. "Plus I'm 19 years old. I may be able to take care of myself but with a child. I don't know."
"Well if you ever do. You have us here. And you have Lincoln." She says. I smile and nod at her.
"Thank you Heda Lexa." I say, slightly smirking.
"You're welcome Beth Kom Skaikru." She says back.
-----
Lexa is sparring with Aden as I watched. "Good, Aden. Again." Next says. Aden knocks off Lexa sticks and she seems very surprised.
"They're here." Another grounder says, walking up to us.
"Natblidas. Pair up en continue training." Lexa says. The Nightbloods goes back to training.
"Aden is ready. He's even better than I was before my conclave." Lexa says to Titus and I. We stood on the balcony above. "You still think the summit is a bad idea."
"You mean well, Heda. But now is not the time for good intentions. Your enemies are circling. Queen Nia moves against you." Titus says to her. "Our focus should be there. Instead, you antagonize her further by offering the Skaikru a seat at your table." I send a quick glare to him.
"I will not let the fear of war dictate our agenda." Lexa tells him.
"Why are you doing this? Sky People are here to negotiate a treaty, not join the coalition. They didn't ask for this."
"As much as I hate to say not one of the 12 Clans will accept it." I say to her.
"They will accept it... when they see Wanheda bow before me."
Titus sighs. "She won't even see you, yet everything you do elevates her. Why?" He asks Lexa.
"Clarke elevates herself. She's special." Lexa answers.
"You're special, Heda. I've been the Fleimkepa for 4 commanders. No one has done what you have. We are so close to our goal. If you want the power of Wanheda, you know what must be done. You strike her down. Kill her. Take her power."
I sigh, knowing that Lexa won't kill Clarke but that doesn't mean no one else will try to.
----
Later on, we were back in the throne room. All of the Ambassadors were here, along with my father, Abby and Lexa, who was in her chair with me standing next to it.
A woman singing the anthem in Trigedasleng.
Clarke is walking in the throne room with Lexa at the front. Clarke walks all the way to the front to Lexa and bows. I smile lightly. Roan bows to his turn. People follow suit with the Skaikru bowing to the Commander last.
"Hail warriors of the 12 Clans." Lexa says.
Everyone speaks, "Hail, Commander of the Blood."
"Rise." Lexa says and everyone rises. "We welcome Skaikru to our halls in the spirit of friendship and harmony, and we welcome Clarke Kom Skaikru... Legendary Wanheda, Mountain Slayer. The reason for this summit has changed. We are not here to negotiate a treaty with the Skaikru, but rather to initiate hem into the coalition." Lexa explains to everyone. There was murmuring between the clans.
"To symbolize this union, the leader of Skaikru must bear our mark." Dad walks forward. "Present your arm." Lexa says. Dad looks at me. I nod. They burn the mark on to his arm. I smile.
Bellamy, Pike, and Octavia barge into the room with guns.
"Bellamy?" Clarke says at the same time as I say Octavia's name.
I walk forward, glaring at the three slightly. "What is the meaning of this?" I ask the three.
"The summit's a trap. We need to get you, Clarke, out of here." Bellamy says.
"What the hell is going on?" Clarke asks. I shrug, confused.
"I don't know." Lexa answers.
Bellamy speaks up next. "It's the Ice Nation."
"These allegations are an outrage. The Ice Nation never stormed this summit with weapons, breaking our laws. That was the Skaikru." A grounder says. As much as I hate to say it, he's right. Grounders don't use guns.
"We're right about this. The two guards you left behind are dead already. We need to go now." Pike says.
"How did you come by this information?" Lexa asks.
The three look around, as if to look for someone. "Where the hell is Echo?" Octavia asks. I sigh, sharing a look with Lexa.
----
"What's going on? Where the hell is she?" Bellamy asks.
Octavia sighs. "Bellamy, maybe we were wrong about this."
"I don't understand." Bellamy says.
"Stand down." I say to Bellamy and Pike. I nod to my father, who grabs Bellamy's gun from him.
"Bellamy, Bellamy, come in." I hear Raven's voice come through Bellamy's walkie talkie. "The Grounders attacked Mount Weather."
"What are you talking about?" Bellamy asks her.
"It's gone. It's gone. They're all gone." She says to him. "Sinclair and I are the only ones left. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry."
The grounder from earlier speaks up. "You should have never moved your people back into Mount Weather. The Ice Nation did what Lexa was too weak to do."
"This is an act of war. Sentries, arrest the Ice Nation delegation, including the prince." Lexa says.
"We need to get home. If they attacked Mount Weather, Arkadia could be next." Abby says to us Skaikru.
"Dad nods. "I agree."
"Go. Marshal your forces. We'll avenge the attack together." Lexa says. "Beth, go with them." I give her an unsure look but she nods at me. "Go."
"I'll escort them." Indra says. "I hope you," She starts, looking at Octavia, "kept up your training. You'll need it."
"Clarke, we need to leave now." Bellamy says.
Lexa cuts in. "We need an ambassador from the 13th Clan to stay here in Polis."
"It's not safe here." Bellamy argues.
Lexa looks at him. "Clarke will be safe here under my protection."
"I have to stay." Clarke says.
"Clarke..." Abby says, unsure.
"I have to make sure she keeps her word." Clarke says.
"Come on, Heda. We must convene the war council immediately." Titus says.
I look at Lexa. "Are you sure?" I ask her.
"You are my second in command. You are family. I am lifting Lincoln's kill order. He is free." She says to me.
I smile at her. "Thank you." She nods.
"Be back here soon though." She says. I nod. She walks away with Titus, who nods at me. I nod back.
"Be safe." Dad says to Clarke.
"You, too." She says.
"She left us to die on that mountain. She will always put her people first. You should come home to yours." Bellamy says.
"I suggest you shut up Bellamy." I say, slightly annoyed. "We need to go." I say.
"I'm sorry." Clarke says to Bellamy.
I look at her. "I'm glad you're safe." I say to her, smiling. She hugs me.
----
"Beth!" I hear my father call out. I turned the horse I was on, around, moving over to him.
"Hi dad." I say, smiling.
He smiles. "We need to talk more. We hardly do anymore."
"I know. I'm so sorry." I say to him, getting off the horse, holding onto the rope, walking it next to dad and I.
"It's not your fault. You're busy, we both are." He says. He smiles lightly before speaking again. "I'm proud of you. Of what you have become."
I smile at him. "Thank you dad." He nods, hugging me. I smile and hug him back.
"I love you Beth."
"I love you too dad."
----
We had gotten back to Arkadia around nightfall. I went straight to my room, tired.
"Beth." I hear Lincoln say as I closed the door. I turn around and smile at him. He was on the cot bed we shared.
"Hi." He looks at me and smiles before getting up and walking over to me. "You okay?" I ask him.
He nods. "I'm okay." He says. I smile and kiss him. "Are you okay?" He asks me.
"I just, I feel like something bad is going to happen soon." I tell him.
He sighs. "We'll be okay. Nothing is going to break us." He tells me. I nod and kiss him again. "I love you Beth Kom Skaikru. Always." He smiles lightly at me.
"I love you Lincoln Kom Trikru. And forever." I whisper, smiling back at him before he kisses me once again.
----
This is kinda a small chapter. I'm so sorry that I haven't updated lately. I'm still so confused on what to do for Lincoln's plot line and how Beth is gonna be either after he dies or how she will be if I choose to keep him alive. Honestly I don't know what to do. And I don't have that many episodes to make up my mind. Please comment guys. I'll try to update again soon but it probably wont be until after the New Year. Also happy new year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Again, please comment. Thanks for reading. Bye.
-Kelly.
