Meet and Greet on Banana Street (Edited)
"Owww ..." Y/N groaned as her eyes blinked open.
Everything seemed to be a bit blurry, but as she blinked, it started to clear.
She seemed to be face first on what appeared to be pavement, pavement by a stretch of road.
"Oh my gosh, are you okay?" a woman's voice, a familiar voice asked.
"Uhhh ..."
"Harley, move out of the way. Here, let me help you up."
Y/N lifted her head and saw a hand stretched out to her.
She took it and got up.
For a second, Y/N stared in shock at the people before her.
It was the Williams family and Zoe!
No way! No bloody way!
Beth was looking worriedly at her.
Austin looked curiously at her.
Harley smiled at her, Y/N smiled back.
Zoe and Mitch both looked bored out of their minds ... the latter was on his phone. Probably texting his new girlfriend.
Y/N silently gritted her teeth. She counted Mitch as the second worst character in the film. It was obvious what was going on with Mitch but Beth was completely oblivious.
She won't be oblivious for much longer though.
The thought came to Y/N with a quirk of grim satisfaction.
"Are you okay?" Beth's voice quickly snapped Y/N back to reality.
"Yes, I'm fine", Y/N said, brushing her hands on her jeans.
"Sorry for bumping into you. We didn't see you at first, not until you were sprawling on the ground", Austin said.
"It's okay, anyone can bump into anyone", Y/N replied, smiling at the Williams, and looking around at the studio buildings around her.
The buildings were very familiar to her.
As was the queue of children, teenagers and adults lined up on the pavement beside her, the Williams family, and Zoe.
Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh, I'm in the movie?!
Y/N suddenly grinned widely.
Oh, wow! This must be what they call movie magic, eh? This is so cool, I gotta thank that beagle when I get to see him.
Y/N smiled as she turned and looked at the tall building behind her.
Studio 1, Taft Studios, home of the famous Banana Splits: Fleegle, Drooper, Bingo and Snorky. Also the place of the infamous disaster ... that won't happen this time, if I have anything to say about it!
Y/N fist-bumped herself.
She couldn't help it, she felt all fired up with adrenaline.
Is this how adventurers feel before they face unimaginable dangers?
"Are you going to see the Banana Splits too?" Harley asked excitedly, accidentally dragging Y/N out of her thoughts.
Y/N looked down and smiled at Harley.
He's a nice kid. He really doesn't deserve to go through this, Y/N thought sadly.
"Yeah, I am. This is going to be one heck of a show I reckon", she said, meaning every single word.
Harley beamed happily.
"That's great! I'm Harley by the way, and this is my friend: Zoe!"
Zoe rolled her eyes, and gave a smile and a half-wave to Y/N.
His mother smiled and held out her hand to shake, as did Austin too.
"I'm his mother: Beth."
"I'm Austin."
Y/N shook both their hands, smiling.
Beth nudged her husband pointedly.
"Mitch, say hello".
Mitch Williams looked from his phone with a monotone, slightly annoyed expression.
"..."
After a second, he went back to looking at his phone.
Beth frowned.
Y/N bridled.
Well, it's a pleasure meeting you for sure ... not.
"My name is Y/N and it's nice to meet you all."
"Nice to meet you too, Y/N", Beth, Austin, Zoe and Harley all said.
"WHO'S EXCITED TO SEE THE BANANA SPLITS!"
A voice from the front of the queue caught everyone's attention.
The crowd of people all started cheering.
Y/N craned her head to see who it was.
It's Paige. And Doug.
Paige and her colleague Doug both smiled at everyone.
"Hi! I am Paige ... the audience page, Paige the page. Guess you could say that I was born to do this job. God, I hope not Please have your tickets ready, and I'll get you checked in lickety-splits!"
The crowd all groaned.
Even Doug didn't look amused.
Y/N sighed and rolled her eyes.
Better stop with the bad jokes, Paige, or else they might not come in!
Paige's eyes widened.
"Oh! That's lame."
She sighed as well.
"It's bad, I know. They make me say it."
Paige then handed the clipboard she was holding to Doug, and took the yellow ID cards he passed to her.
The two pages then split up and began to ask people for their cell phones.
Y/N checked for her cell phone, but it wasn't there.
She last remembered it being on the table next to her when she watched the Banana Splits Movie.
Apparently, it hadn't crossed into the movie with her.
Dang it.
In a potentially dangerous and deadly situation without your mobile phone?
Utter Nightmare, Lol!
