Chapter Seven: The Bloodbath

(guess it's about time to get this goin' huh? Sorry guys, I know I promised a Bloodbath sooner, things got busy Ok? Don't hate me!)

The Bloodbath. The countdown is over, and now the Bloodbath is beginning. The Gamemaker's have strategically placed the Cornucopia in the center of a giant incline, a huge pit with the twenty-four Tribute's surrounding it. Supplies are laid out in bags around the outside, while the more deadly weapons lay in wait deep inside the Cornucopia. This incline the Tribute's are trapped in is at a sharp 110 degree angle, a steep climb even for the Careers. Little do the Tribute's know that in a few minutes the bowl-like hill encasing the Cornucopia will soon start to smolder as it fills with molten lava.

The alarm buzzes, and Coriolanus Adver is the first off the platform. He meets up with his recently made ally and district partner, Jessimiane Scarlet. They gather a few things, Coriolanus going for the axes and then protecting Jess at the opening of the Cornucopia.

As Corio and Jess leapt off, so did many others. Keiko Jada and Kydler Green unite with their other allies, Celeste Vidaurri and Gabe Morales. Once Kydler gets her hands on a bow she shoots Ben Dover from District One in the heart, piercing it and killing him instantly.

Gabe grabs a sword and slices just past the head of a random tribute running by with supplies.

Adelyn Hunters quickly finds her allies Ryme Callos and Kira Hunters. Adelyn grabs a backpack off the nearest dead tribute and they all run. But not before Coriolanus throws an ax at them, barely missing Ryme's head. She looks terrified, but grabs the ax and runs to catch up to her alliance, and they start climbing. Kira is running away when her leg is pierced by one of Kydler's arrows. She narrowly escapes with the help of Adelyn and Ryme.

Taystarian Gray stumbles off her platform, but Kaleb Smith, her partner, quickly helps her run to the side of the Cornucopia to hide from the flying weapons. Both look themselves over for any harm, and then scan the field for their missing alliance member. August Rush has already leapt off his platform and now hides between several bags of supplies. When Coriolanus snatches up a satchel and meets his eyes both boys stare. August's life is flashing before his eyes when Coriolanus steps away.

August is pulled out of his amazement at the strange moment of being faced by a psycho killer by Kaleb's voice, calling him over. He runs to hide with them, narrowly escaping a flying arrow.

Jessimiane Scarlet is suddenly hit by an arrow shot by Celeste's crossbow. It was only in the arm, and she'll be alright, but she screams and falls anyway. Coriolanus steps over her body to guard it, readying an ax to throw at Celeste. Just as he throws it Gabe Morales steps in the way, and the ax is hit by one of Kydler's arrows, knocking it off it's coarse so it hits Gabe in the leg rather than the chest.

Coriolanus is angry now, and makes it a priority to kill Celeste.

Tyler Merale from District Six is just escaping over the hill with his sister when one of Coriolanus' ax's hits him in the back and he falls down, dead. Belle Merale screams but runs away anyway.

August helps secure a backpack to Taystarian's back and then puts one on himself as Kaleb grabs duel swords from the back of the Cornucopia. The Gamemaker's must've known what he wanted. Then Kaleb hurries his alliance on, not wanting to stick around this madness. Coriolanus spots them hiking the incline and readies an ax, only to be grabbed by Jess. She clutches her shoulder in pain and Coriolanus takes his eyes off Kaleb to help his ally.

Sapphire Gold, from District Eight comes barreling on past Coriolanus to get deep inside for some weapons, but Corio slices her arm with his ax. She screams and hops away, desperately trying to get up the hill. She just barely makes it out alive.

Anon Ymous goes over by his district partner, Keiko Jada. But Keiko's alliance wants nothing to do with him, so Gabe beheads him with his sword.

Hugh Janus has come a little too close the the 5's for comfort, so Coriolanus beheads him and cuts off his limbs.

Asher Brix somehow managed to escape the eyes of everyone, and he's the first one to make it up the incline with his backpack of supplies and his weapon.

Jemima Electra strategically skips around the back of the Cornucopia, slipping in and grabbing some knives before running up the incline.

Scarlett Aspen and Arrow Arturo escape together with nothing, just barely making it up the incline without being killed. Mike Rotch stupidly heads for the Cornucopia just as we see the steam start to rise. Kydler pierces his shoulder with an arrow, but he's still alive. Then Kydler and her alliance start making their way up the hill. Then Coriolanus cuts Mike down with his ax, and he's dead.

Lava is barely seen seeping up from the bottom of the incline. Coriolanus knows he must get him and Jess out of here in time. But, being the psycho that he is, he starts leaving without her.

"Wait!" she calls on deaf ears. He's already started climbing. "I have food in here for you!" Jess bribes. Coriolanus finally yields, and runs back for her as the lava surfaces. He slings her over his shoulder, not even careful of her wounds, and runs up the incline, making it out in rapid time.

Kaleb and his alliance have made it up, as have everyone else. The fallen tributes lay there to be consumed by the lava, and there's one live being left there; Mike Wizowski. He's deep within the Cornucopia grinning at the spoils. But he doesn't realise instant death is coming soon. The lava engulfs him, leaving nothing but his screams to echo the plains.

Kydler Green and her alliance have gone up the hill and now run straight for a deciduous forest ahead. Adelyn and her alliance head to the forest beside that, which is a coniferous forest.

Suddenly Keiko looks back to see Scarlett and Arrow following them, and she quickly wounds both of them with her knives.

Kaleb Smith and his little alliance head for the coniferous forest as well, but in a different direction than Adelyn and her friends.

Coriolanus has just risen from the incline, carrying Jess over his shoulder, a backpack over the other, and three axes in one palm.

He chases after Kaleb toward the coniferous woods, while Jemima escapes to the deciduous forest. Asher has slipped away without a trace, no one knows where he is.

Sapphire Gold, who is alone in this, escapes to the deciduous forest. Belle Merale has followed Adelyn, a wounded Kira, and Ryme into the coniferous forest. Let the Games begin.
