Speechless
Sleep hadn't come to Bakugou as quickly as it did for you. His thoughts were still brewing around what you had said to him earlier.
"...there was this monster, this thing that I...it was in front of me and...well, it looked like me."
You were right. It did sound insane. But in a world where super humans were born every day, it was frighteningly plausible.
Perhaps the smartest thing to do right then was to act cautiously. He reminded himself to tell you this in the morning when he turned to see you dozed off. His cheeks reddened with embarrassment as he caught himself staring at the starry freckles dimming and brightening along with the rhythm of your breathing. Bakugou didn't know why but the colorful constellations on your flesh were incredibly beautiful to him (a word he would never use out loud) and he couldn't help but admire.
You seemed so peaceful now, sleeping soundly with not a crinkle of worry on your face. It was hard to believe that someone this calm had undergone something traumatic tonight. You two were also still on the rocks since the fight which probably didn't help your emotional state.
That was, assuming you cared enough to let it affect you.
Bakugou didn't want to be the only one feeling conflicted, so he secretly hoped it did. This was another thing he'd have to address tomorrow...
For now though, he lay next to you watching the flurry of colors dance across your skin until it slowly began to dim. Everything went black as the hazy embrace of sleep overtook him.

You knew you were awake when your senses returned to your body but you still refused to open your eyes. Exhaustion from last night and the seduction of sleep prevented you from doing so. However, the cold surface underneath you definitely broke that sweet spell. Perhaps it was time to get up. Drowsy eyed and with a yawn, you sat up.
You were there in a bit of a daze when a loud shout caused you to jump.
"(l/n)!? Damn it, where the fuck are you!?"
You heard thunderous footsteps run down the stairs and screech to a halt as rage induced blond looked around in a frenzy until he spotted you. The disheveled Bakugou stood there with a look of alarm. "WHAT THE FUCK, YOU BRAT!? DON'T RUN OFF LIKE THAT!" He bellowed angrily.
You glanced around and realized you were on the floor in your kitchen. The teen let out a sigh of annoyance. "What the fuck are even doing down here, glow stick?"
You yawned again and got up. "Well my quirk requires me to recharge everyday with some sunlight so sometimes my body goes on auto pilot and poof! I wake up on the floor."
"So you're basically a house plant."
"Nah, I have anxiety."
Bakugou rolled his eyes. "So what are we doing now?" His expression changed to one of amused confusion. "You look like a mess."
You hummed, still tired. Your hair was probably tousled like crazy but you really didn't care. Just then, your stomach growled loudly.
"You hungry?" He questioned. You then realized you hadn't eaten since yesterday afternoon.
"Maybe," You shrugged sheepishly.
"Do you have anything here?"
"Uh, no. Actually, that's why I was out yesterday. To get food."
Bakugou shook his head. "Go get changed, brat. We're heading out."
A little smirk spread across your lips. "Aye, sir," You saluted with a chuckle.

After you both took your turns in the bathroom, you found that you had recovered from most of your injuries from the previous day. You silently thanked your mother for the good genes as you stepped out with a simple t-shirt and jeans. Bakugou wore the same sweatpants and t-shirt from yesterday as well, but he did fix his cute messy locks before you two left the house.
Things were going smoothly when halfway down the street you discovered your new dilemma. "WAIT!"
"What is it now?" Bakugou huffed in annoyance.
"I'm broke, bitch. I can't afford food!" You flailed anxiously.
"Who said you're paying, night light? I'm the one who dragged you out here. You think I'm such scum that I'd invite you out and not pay?" Bakugou scoffed. However, his gaze was strategically averted from you.
You blinked in surprise. "Really?"
"Yes, you brat, now shut up and walk faster." His stride picked up and you had to run to catch up with him while still wondering why he was being so nice to you.
Eventually, you both ended up a local diner that was deserted for the most part. This might've been due to how early it was on a lazy Saturday. Nevertheless, you two slid into a booth and weighed your breakfast options.
"Have you been here before?" You asked, your eyes delighted to find a delicious looking pancake platter.
Bakugou looked dead tired as he inspected his menu. "Nope."
You let out an exhale and stretched your arms high as you looked around the diner. It wasn't spacious and grand but that was what lent to its cozy charm. You were thinking it was probably family owned when you spotted a familiar head of spiky red hair ordering at the register.
"Hey, isn't that Kirishima?" You pointed him out to Bakugou.
At the mention of his name, he turned and saw the two of you. "Hey guys! Didn't expect to see you here!" The other two people with him took notice of you as well. You didn't know them but you felt like you had seen them before.
The girl appeared to be almost tinged pink with soft curly hair to match. Her eyes pools of deep obsidian with only her golden pupils standing out in them; and yet that couldn't offset her friendly face. The other male with Kirishima also looked amiable and had a black set of hair he wore down. On his arms, you found strange circular elbows which you assumed were part of his quirk.
You glanced back at Bakugou to get his input but he still seemed to be slightly grouchy this morning. You two managed to order your meals right when Kirishima and his friends finished up as well and neared the table.
"What the fuck are you guys doing here?" Bakugou grumbled.
"Eating, obviously." The pink girl rolled her eyes. "So who's the cutie?"
"You're the girl from practice, right? I'm Sero," He greeted with a large grin.
"(l/n)," You reciprocated with a smile of your own. Although being recognized for the huge stunt of the previous day wasn't something you were fond of. They didn't press you about it though which was a relief.
The pink girl also introduced herself as Ashido. "Call me Mina!"
"They're 1-A students," Kirishima said.
"It's nice to meet you guys. You wanna sit down?"
Bakugou was quick to argue. "No, they fuckin' don't."
"Aw come on, Bakugou, we won't ruin your date," Mina pouted.
"This ain't a fuckin' date."
"Perfect! Then you won't mind us joining you," Sero chimed in. They clambered into the booth with Bakugou who was simmering in his irritation.
Soon enough, the chatter of the friends began and you found yourself enjoying their company much more than you had anticipated. It seemed like they balanced out well with the blond's hot-headed temper.
In the midst of all the conversation, Kirishima leaned over in hushed tone. "So, I take it you both cleared things up?"
You shrugged. "Kinda? I mean, we're better than we were before."
"See? I told you you guys just needed to work it out."
Your mind flickered back to the events of yesterday, including the haunting vision of that night. You almost visibly shuddered. "Well, things are still kinda complicated."
"So (l/n)." Ashido suddenly addressed you. "How do you and Bakugou know each other?"
You both looked at each other quizzically. "That's a long story," You chuckled.
"You two knew each other before yesterday's practice though, right?" Sero said in between bites of his food. "That was, uh, really something."
"Sero." Mina shot him a scolding glare. "What he means is that you two didn't seem very friendly yesterday."
"The fuck is it to you? That's our fuckin' business," Bakugou scowled. "Nosy shit sticks..."
"Besides, we're fine ya see. Right, glow stick?"
Despite his confident glance, Bakugou's voice wavered a bit. Your eyes lingered on him as you tried to respond honestly to his question. "Uh, yeah, it's ok..."
Your lack of a quick reply sparked concern in the spiky blond male but he couldn't read your face to tell what was wrong. He didn't dwindle on it, however, and went right back to his dominant posture.
With nothing else being said, Kirishima joined in. "So what you guys gonna do after eating? Maybe we can walk around town or something."
You smiled weakly. "I'm sorry, I've gotta head home after this. I have a lot of homework and my mom's out so I'm on cleaning duty."
"Ugh, don't remind me," Ashido grumbled along with a dejected Sero.
"That's too bad. Well, maybe next time?" The red head offered a grin, but he seemed kind of disappointed.
"Yeah, definitely."
Not long afterwards, you all said your goodbyes and went your separate ways. Bakugou insisted on walking you back home even as you tried to persuade him you were fine.
"This isn't necessary," You sighed as you strolled down the street.
"Shut it, brat. Just be grateful I'm doing this."
You merely rolled your eyes and glanced up at the cloudless baby blue sky. "Your friends seem really nice."
This made the teen scoff. "Yeah, they're some real fuckin' friends."
This made you raise an eyebrow. "Why do you say that?"
"They do shit just to get on my nerves, the fuckers."
You giggled at the memory. "I think they're hilarious."
"Of course you fuckin' would."
"You know," You started softly, "A lot of people in 1-B hate your class, but you guys aren't bad people at all. Maybe a little misunderstood but that's only some."
"I guess what I mean to say is that I'm a little envious of you."
Bakugou stared at your calm expression. You weren't even looking at him but he could tell you were genuine in your words. He just didn't expect you to say that.
"Well...everything ain't rainbows and daisies, night light. There are some dumbasses in there."
Your lips curled into a smirk. "Aside from you?"
You swore you could see his blood pressure rising. "You little shit!" He pinched your cheeks roughly as you laughed in his face.
"Kidding, kidding!"
You swatted away his hands when you realized you had arrived back at your house. "Whoa that was quick."
"Guess that restaurant wasn't far."
"I appreciate you paying for me by the way. I don't think I got to thank you," You said.
Bakugou rolled his eyes and shook his head. "I told you you don't need to thank me, glow stick. Why don't you just pay me back some other time."
You nodded solemnly, your mood shifting. "Hey Bakugou?"
"What?"
"I want to apologize again. I know I said some shitty things to you and you were right, I don't know you enough to call you out like that. I don't know your life." Your small frame was shaking. "I guess I'm hoping our fight doesn't affect us badly. I'd still like to be friends, if that's okay with you?"
"I also wanted to thank you for saving me last night. I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't found me. I'm not even sure what would have happened to me if I had stayed. Looks like I owe you twice now huh?" You let out a breathy chuckle.
"Well anyway, thank you for helping, Bakugou. And I'd understand if you didn't want to be friends after all of this. It feels inconsiderate to assume you'd still want to be."
An uncharacteristic remorse flooded through Bakugou. You both had said and done some inappropriate things during the escalation of your fight, but the factor remained that he had initiated it all. This is why he was shocked by the apology you gave him.
You sounded so guilty and like all of it was your fault when he knew for a fact he played a part in it too no matter how much his pride wouldn't admit. You didn't know about his animosity towards Deku nor did you do anything wrong in speaking with him. Bakugou was just upset by the fact that you knew him. His childhood enemy was friends with one of the few people he tolerated as a friend. It pissed him off.
He had no right to be, he knew that. But it still made him boil just thinking about it.
He sighed passively. "Damn it, glow stick, you really think I give a shit about all that?"
Now it was your turn to be surprised. "Huh?"
"That stuff's in the past. It doesn't matter what happened as long as we got through it. It'd be fuckin' stupid to let some hang up ruin us talking to each other. So don't worry about the little shit. It's over and done with."
Bakugou then glanced away. "As for the saving...well, it's obviously something I would do. I'm not just gonna sit around while someone's in trouble..."
Your eyes softened as you looked at the blond. "Right...thanks..."
He turned around and started walking away. But before he went any further, he stopped. "And (l/n)?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry too."
Your eyes went wide with what fell upon your ears. You were left astonished as you stared after Bakugou's disappearing figure.
Sorry this is late and probably a little rough. The final stretch of the fall semester is a pain in the ass. I'm still a little busy but hopefully I'll have the next chapter done soon. I'm thankful for all the support and responses I've gotten for this story ^^
In other news, I plan on expanding my stories to different platforms like fanfiction.net, quotev, and archive of our own because it may be easier for you guys to read them in certain places and I'd like to share my stories with others as well. I'll have the same username so if you'd like to follow me anywhere else you are welcome to :)
Also I know the whole tumblr purge is freaking some people out and I just wanted to say that if you would like to help, there are some who are logging off entirely on the 17th in protest. It's not much but at least it's a sign we have some will to us.
And to all the content creators I wanted to say thank you for all your hard work and please save everything you can before the 17th. It could potentially be erased that day.
That's it from me for now, take care everyone!
