Ch 4

Ariels POV

I laid my keys on my kitchen counter and sighed. It's Monday, so I have nothing to do for the evening.

I walked to my room, and peeled my clothes off, slowly making my way to my bathroom.

I switched the shower on, and turned the heat up, testing it with my fingers before stepping into the steamy water.

Thinking about alastor, I scrubbed away the days dirt and sweat. I found myself beginning to miss his presence.

He tells funny jokes, and has begun to get more comfortable around my apartment. He even started taking his shoes off.

I was half expecting him to have deer hooves, but he doesn't. He just has regular feet. He wears maroon socks, and it's kind of comical.

Maybe I should go out and get him some more comfortable clothing, just for when he's here. It would only be nice of me to do so.

I shut the water off, stepping out into the steamy bathroom.

After detangling my hair and running some product through it, I stepped out. The chill of my room caused goosebumps to rise on my skin and I shivered.

Quickly, I made my way to my drawers, yanking out a pair of underwear and grabbing an extra large t shirt.

I slipped on the underwear, and then froze when my door suddenly opened, and there stood Alastor.

We locked eyes and just stared at each other for a solid 10 seconds. He glanced down at my exposed chest, and in an instant both of our faces erupted in a blush.

"Alastor!" I screeched, grabbing the closest thing and throwing it at him. It's his lucky day that thing happened to be a pillow.

It smacked him in the face, and fell to the floor.

I clutched the t shirt to my chest, and he quickly shut my door.

My heart was beating out of my chest and I took deep breaths.

Ok.

Ok.

So, Al just saw your titties. That's ok. That's...

So not ok.

After throwing the t shirt over my head, and then throwing on some spandex since apparently I have company, I swung the door to my room open and scanned my living room.

He was sitting on my couch, his ears flat against his head as he stared blankly at my black television screen.

As soon as he heard the door, his ears perked back up, and the weary smile he was wearing also perked up into his usual one.

He glanced over at me, and immediately lowered his ears again upon seeing my face.

I was giving him my most disappointed look, and had my hands on my hips.

"Explain yourself."

He rocked in his spot, and I found it slightly amusing how nervous he was. I've never seen him nervous, yet a pair of boobs sends him into "I'm in trouble" mode.

He sighed, "my apologies...truly darling I am sorry, I really didn't know you were changing, and I should have knocked..."

My eyes softened when I heard the sincerity in his tone. He's only ever spoken condescendingly or sarcastically when "apologizing".

I sighed heavily, and waved it off, "it's ok, we're both adults... at least you weren't weird about it," I said, and walked over to the couch.

His ears perked up again, and he watched me approach.

I plopped down on the couch, and smiled at him, "so, what do I owe the pleasure of an early visit?"

He shrugged, "I didn't have anything else to do...boredom truly is a horrible thing," he sighed dramatically.

I rolled my eyes, and turned to face him, tucking my legs underneath me.

"I suppose it is...do you like board games?" I asked suddenly, a smile breaking onto my face.

He thought for a moment, and shrugged, "I don't play them often, I find them childish...however, if it gives us something to pass the time I wouldn't be opposed to it," he said, and I bounced happily.

"Oh yay! Sit still, I'll be right back!" I got up, bounding into my room and retrieving my very very old first edition monopoly.

My granny gave it to me, and we used to play it together when I was little.

When I walked out with it, I held it up proudly.

"First edition, 1935," I said with a smug grin, "not another one like it! I love this game," as I walked over, Alastor waved his hand, and my living room rearranged so we could comfortably play.

I quickly set the game up and held the little pieces out, although I'd already snatched the thimble.

He stared at the metal pieces, and picked up the car between his red claws.

I dropped the rest of the pieces back into the box, and dealt out the proper amount of money to both of us.

"I like this game because I get to pretend I know how to finance," I said absentmindedly, and he chuckled.

"Dear, you may have picked the only game that I am famously good at," he quipped and I scoffed.

"We'll see about that," I said back, sending him a sly smirk.

And the game began.

"Alastor, you're cheating," I whined. He had at least over half the money, and had already put hotels on six separate properties.

He owned boardwalk and park place and had a hotel for each of them.

He laughed, and shook his head. His monocle was hanging over his shoulder and he had a boyish smile on his face.

"Dear, I'm not even sure how one would cheat at monopoly with only two players," he said, chuckling at my pouty demeanor.

My piece was in the danger zone, the strip leading straight towards go.

I can't roll a 6 or an 8...

I threw the dice, and watched as one landed as a five and the other as a...

Two! Yes!

I celebrated silently and went to move my piece, stopping just between the two most dangerous areas on the board.

Alastor tskd, and I tilted my head at him.

"What?" I said, and he smugly pointed at the board, causing my eyes to shift again to my dice.

A five...and a three?!

"What!" I raised my voice, and gaped at him, he is obviously cheating.

"Ok, Ok, magician," I hissed at him, "I know you magic-ified my dice!" I pointed at him.

He shrugged and looked up innocently.

"Even if I did..." his eyes met mine, and that innocent look turned devious, his eyes narrowing as they turned a deeper red, "you couldn't prove it."

The way he said it made a blush rise to my cheeks, and I grumbled as I moved my piece one more place.

Right onto boardwalk.

"I'm bankrupt..." I mumbled, crossing my arms.

"Oh what was that, sweetheart, I didn't quite hear you?" He said, mockingly. I grit my teeth, and looked him in the eyes.

"Im bankrupt."

His smile widened, "I win!" He said, tossing his money in the air.

A tiny smile cracked through my pout, and I lowered my crossed arms.

"Good game," I said lightly, then playfully nudged his leg with my foot, "even though you're a dirty little cheater,"

He simply shrugged, a cheeky grin on his face, "ah, but darling, that makes it all the more realistic!"

I snorted, and chuckled, "well, I can't argue with that!"

With a wave of his finger all the money was organized, and I gently folded the fragile board.

I had a soft smile on my face as I placed everything back into the tattered box.

"That was fun," I said softly, standing up with the box in my hands. He stood as well, smiling down at me as he snapped his fingers and restored the living room to its former glory.

"Indeed it was, darling."
